6 SGC part-turn actuators and SVC globe valve actuators are of compact design. Controls are an integral part located within the actuator housing. Considering the small dimensions, the actuators provide high torques at fast running speeds. Both actuator types are based on the same design principle, while commissioning, integration into the DCS and operation follow a uniform concept. This facilitates joint operation of both type ranges within a single installation. SGC and SVC are suitable for open-close duty, SGCR and SVCR versions for modulating duty. Since their launch, the type ranges have been continuously enhanced and improved. This includes among others the implementation of Profi bus DP or Modbus RTU interfaces and the introduction of the new corrosion protection system based on powder coating. With this brochure, we would like to present three further innovations. 1 Additional size extends the torque range of SGC actuators With the introduction of size 12.1, the maximum tripping torque of the SGC actuators has doubled from 500 Nm to 1,000 Nm. Using a uniform actuator concept throughout the entire plant is facilitated. 2 AUMA plug/socket connector as electrical connection now also available for SGC/SVC type ranges Electrical connection is made via Phoenix connector as standard. When used with the larger SA and SQ type ranges within a single installation, all actuators can now be installed with uniform electrical connectors. SGC and SVC actuators can be equipped with AUMA plug/socket connector as an option. The plug-in connection proven over several decades is used as standard for both SA multi-turn actuators and SQ part-turn actuators. 3 Enhanced stroke range of SVC globe valve actuators The number of permissible turns per stroke was increased from 24 to 100, providing new options for using the actuators on globe valves and other applications requiring several rotations for automation. For applications with rising stem, the stem stroke is limited by device geometry (refer to technical data). TAILORED TO CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS Just like the larger type ranges, both SGC and SVC actuators can also be confi gured via the AUMA Commissioning & Diagnostic Tool (CDT)

7 TECHNICAL DATA APPLICATION CONDITIONS FOR SGC/SGCR AND SVC/SVCR ACTUATORS Corrosion protection The AUMA corrosion protection system is based on a chemical preliminary treatment, followed by a two-layer powder coating of the individual components. In compliance with the corrosivity categories according to EN ISO , various AUMA corrosion protection levels are provided to suit the different applications. AUMA have been certifi ed for achieving corrosion protection of the highest classes, C5-I and C5-M, as specifi ed in the standard. Enclosure protection The actuators are supplied with enhanced enclosure protection IP68 according to IEC IP68 means protection against continuous immersion up to 8 m head of water for max. 96 hours. During continuous immersion, up to 10 operations are permissible. Ambient temperatures The products are suitable for operation without restrictions at temperatures from 25 C to +70 C. Special approvals > GL Germanische Lloyd certify the suitability of the products for use in environmental categories D, G, EMC2. > RMR (Russian Marine Register) This certifi cation confi rms suitability of the products for use on civil vessels and offshore installations.
