RRI-JMCTC Access Only RRI Employees and approved Monmouth University Employees can access the JMCTC Truck. Access requires keys which are currently held by Dr. Reagor, James Hammill and Jennifer Braker. Any other access must be pre approved by RRI administration. The RRI JMCTC Truck Has two entrances on the passenger side. Once either door is opened, stairs will automatically deploy if power is on. While inside, there are covers to put over the stairwell to ensure that no one will fall into the opening. Visitors to the Center may access the trailer when accompanied by an RRI employee, for demonstrations and tours. Unauthorized persons are not allowed in the command truck unless pre approved by RRI administration. 5

RFID Equipment (to be determined in the future) Map Projection Table The Map Sketch is a mapping table which will allow members of an EOC to sit around a table to view and physically mark up maps using regular white board markers. The table would allow the viewing of both paper and digital map formats. The mark up will be stored in a small, separate file that can easily be shared between users without having the original map. Users will primarily interact with the system using whiteboard markers to create different types of mark up. Different colors and symbols would represent different real world objects and their affiliations. The Map Sketch utilizes the Mimio Capture device to acquire mark up data from the user. Mimio Capture is a device intended to be used in conjunction with a white board to capture marker strokes and allow the user to interact with a projected image (usually a MS Windows interface) on the whiteboard. Once the user has completed their mark up using a regular white board marker, it will be saved into the system using the Mimio to save the data. The picture will be saved as a mark up layer. The user can then remove the mark up with a white board eraser and start over. The mark up can be viewed later by layering it on top of the map through the projector or be transmitted to another location. A glass map holder will be constructed to keep paper maps in place on the table and project digital maps on. The software for the Map Sketch will be built on the ESRI ArcGIS mapping software. ArcGIS is already used by many local and state governments to view digital maps. ArcGIS provides build in capabilities to view image files (such as JPEGs, bitmaps, and GIFs), 13

navigate and zooming. The mark up information will be saved as layer (*.lyr) file format. The Map Sketch software will be written in C#. A projector has been mounted facing upward toward a mirror in order to project an image onto a table. Mimio Xi hardware and software is used for map markup. A diagram of the Map Sketch table currently installed in the ARFOR trailer is shown below in figure 1 and detailed illustration of the glass map holder is shown in figure 2. We will be making a diagram of the current set up in the joint mobile command and training center soon. Figure 1 Figure 2 14

Satellite Dish The 1.2 Meter Satellite Dish is controlled by a switch in the equipment room. The Satellite Modem must be power cycled every time the dish is taken down and put up again. There is limited use (5 days per month) of the satellite dish, except for special circumstances. IMPORTANT: Please sign the Satellite log to record when the satellite dish is used and stowed. To ensure we do not go over our allowed usage. DirecTV Until a universal remote is configured, you must use the TV remote to turn on the TV, the Direct TV remote to change channels, and the Sony Receiver remote to control the Volume. Of course TV power and Volume can also be controlled manually; however, you will want to use the DirecTV remote for the channels and Guide. 17 RRI-JMCTC Truck Procedures to follow when arriving in the field Make Sure that the Vehicle is parked with the following thoughts in mind: The Ground you are parking on is level. The spot is easy to get in and out of. There is enough room on the Roadside of the Truck for the Slide out room to be opened. There are not too many trees and or buildings around that might interfere with Satellite signal. Shore Power cord is located in the compartment at the Curbside rear end of the vehicle in the end storage compartment. There is a 25 ft. cord with 2 additional 25 ft extension cords. Network Whip is in the 1 st storage compartment on the Curbside of the vehicle with about 20 feet of Patch cord to reach a LAN connection and or Analog phone line. Leveling the Vehicle Locate the four 1square foot pieces of wood, and place them underneath each of the self leveling supports located close to each of the four tires. (Important visually make sure by looking from both the side and the front view that the wood is placed evenly underneath each support!) Ignition MUST be off Doors MUST be closed 17

Power dial underneath the driver s seat MUST be in the ON position (which if you just parked it will be because the truck will not start if it is not) ON OFF Auto Leveler is located Underneath the center of the dashboard and looks like this Turn on Power power auto-level Hold down AUTO LEVEL Button until you hear the supports moving. They will continue to level the truck for a few minutes, adjusting to ensure perfect level. After you hear 2 beeps the truck is then level. (If you do not hear anything make sure that all doors are shut, keys are out of the ignition, power from the battery is on)(also try to do All up first if it still is not working) TURN THE Auto Level POWER OFF. Reach Under driver seat and Turn Battery Power knob to OFF. 18

Battery Disconnect (INVERTER) Once the battery is shut off, it is time to turn on the inverter (Battery disconnect). You can find it below the stereo equipment behind the passenger seat. (See Photo) (up)use (down)store Stairs Once you press USE a red light will come on. Once this is on, all other equipment within the truck can be used. Air conditioners, lights, computers, etc... When leaving the truck for the night, turn all equipment off and before leaving, press STORE. To ensure that the stairs automatically deploy press the STEP button into the up position, and the stairs will open when the door does, and retract when the door closes. If leaving for the night, close the door and turn step button OFF, to ensure that no one is hurt entering the vehicle the next time unaware that the stairs might deploy unexpectedly. 19

AIR CONDITIONERS AND HEAT Located at the rear of the vehicle, next to the bathroom The truck air conditioning must be on while servers are in use to prevent equipment failure. (Unless it is cold enough) It should not be over 80 degrees in the equipment room at any time. Turning on Network Power Turn on both UPS at the bottom of the equipment rack. If you are doing this for the 1 st time, open the back door in the equipment room and walk around to the back of the vehicle to do this. Turn on one and then the other by pressing the ( l ) button (O) is for off. Front View (From Inside) Rear View (From Outside) Power buttons located at the right of the box. 20

Wait until all on line and ready lights are lit before turning on the servers. Network Equipment should now be on except for the servers. Servers need only be turned on if you are planning to use the Thin Client environment. *See Network Operations Manual for all Computing needs *See RF Interoperability Manual for Radio Operations 21
