1 SW2 SUBSTITUTE TRAINING
2 CLASSROOM EQUIPMENT Depending on what building you are in, you may see a combination of the following equipment. Projector Mimio Smart Board Document Camera Sound Amp
3 PROJECTOR Projector (on the Ceiling) with remote Trouble Shooting Tips: 1. Click the source button on the projector remote if your desktop is not displayed. 2. Check your computer display settings if your desktop is not showing. 3. Be sure to turn off the projector when not in use to prevent the projector from overheating. 4. Call Tech 8819 if: 1. The lights are flashing on the projector. 2. Projector will not display or turn on. 3. You require assistance with the projector.
4 MIMIO Mimio projectors work in conjunction with a white board to display your desktop with touch functionality similar to a smart board. They are located in Expedition Academy and Monroe Intermediate. The mimio works like a projector and also includes software to create or display lessons similar to a smart board. Troubleshooting: 1. Desktop not displaying? Select the correct source or input on the mimio remote. 2. Touch not working? Unplug the USB cable from the wall to the computer for a few seconds and plug back in. 3. Still having trouble? Contact Tech at 8819.
5 SMART BOARD Smart boards are interactive white boards that respond to touch. Troubleshooting: 1. Check the light indicator on the right frame of the smart board. a. Green: board is working correctly. b. Red: no signal received from computer. c. No light: no power, check the USB cable coming from the wall to your computer. 2. Touch point is off: Orient the board by tapping the two buttons on the from of the smart board and touch each target point on the screen. 3. Contact Tech at 8819 if: 1. Touch will not work. 2. No lights are showing. 3. You have questions about how to use the smart board.
6 DOCUMENT CAMERA Document Cameras are real-time cameras that connect through your computer to your projector and display items, books or pages placed underneath the camera. There are several models in the our District. Troubleshooting: 1. Image not displaying? Make sure the doc camera application has been launched on your desktop. 2. Still not displaying? Check the cables from the doc camera to the computer. There should be a power cable and a USB cable plugged into the camera and the USB cable from the camera to the computer. 3. Still having trouble? Call Tech at extension HoverCam Avervision SMART Cam SMART Cam
7 SOUND SYSTEMS There are a variety of sound systems in the District depending on what building you are in. Troubleshooting Sound: 1. No sound from the classroom speakers? 1. Check the power on the amp. 2. Check the input, AUX1 is usually computer sound. 3. Check the wires. You should see a white headphone jack splitter on the back of your tower, is there a cable that can be traced back to the amp box? 2. Still can t get sound? Call Tech at extension 8819.
8 USER ACCOUNT/ All staff have a District login and (gmail) address. User credentials to login to the computers: Your username generally will be the first six (or less) letters of your last name and the first initial of your legal first name. Ex. Albus Dumbledore s username would be: dumblea Please contact Tech at 8819 if you need your password changed. Your District address will be your username followed Ex: dumblea@swcsd2.org Chrome/Google login credentials: We are a google for education District and your address will be your google login username as well. Your password will be the same as your computer login password.
9 CLEVER Clever is our new single sign on portal that has short cuts to websites you use in the District. It works similar to having desktop icons but Clever will be available to you anywhere when you login to the chrome browser. 1) How do I get to Clever? Click the icon on your desktop or go to a. Sign into the chrome browser with your school district account. b. Click Login with Active Directory. 2) What will I find on Clever? a. Google Suite links including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides and Google Classroom. b. District Links such as the employee portal, Infinite Campus, District website, applicant portal, etc. c. Department of Education links. 3) Having trouble with Clever? Call Tech at ext
10 TIPS AND TRICKS 1. You can find the phone number in a classroom by looking on the top right of the phone display. Extensions are four digits. 2. You can reach the office in any school by dialing the first two digits of your phone extension and 00. Example: You can learn all things Google in manageable mini lessons by clicking the icon in the top right of your Gmail. 4. Do Not write on smartboards with dry erase markers or any other type of writing instrument. 5. Is your mouse moving on it s own? Check to see if a student or something is touching the smart board (even if the projector is not on).
