1 DIAMOND Fiber Optic Components E-2 Compact & Duplex CABLE ASSEMBLIES AND ADAPTES SINGLE MODE PC/APC MULTIMODE PC The E-2 COMPACT and DUPLEX combine the optical and mechanical performances of the E-2 simplex system. These connectors are manufactured with our patented two-part ferrule and "Active Core Alignment" (ACA) technology aiming to reduce the insertion loss values by minimizing fiber-to-fiber eccentricity. Based on components of the E-2 simplex version joined by a simple clip-bridge and a widened thumb-latch, the E-2 COMPACT and DU- PLEX also feature overall metal protection caps, suitable for high power applications. They are available as multimode and single mode connector, standard or.1 db, in PC and 8 APC versions. Further available technologies: Power Solution, PM, PZ, VIS/NI, Low wavelengths, OLiD, and fusion. E-2 Compact The E-2 COMPACT and DUPLEX offer: Integrated protective caps, positive latching mechanism with interchangeable, color-coded and/or mechanical keyed thumb-lachtes Mating adapters with spring-loaded metal shutters Interchangeable color-coded and/or mechanical keyed mating adapter frames Existing components can be upgrated to duplex through the use of a simple clip-bridge and an extended thumb-latch EtO-sterilizable E-2 components. The thumb-latch and frame are available in eight distinct colors: 1. Blue 5. Orange 2. Beige (White) 6. Yellow 3. Black 7. Green 4. ed 8. Violet MECHANICAL KEYING Additionally, it will become increasingly necessary to guard against improper connection in multiple-service patch facilities. The E-2 TM system permits the inclusion of a mechanical keying mechanism to ensure channel differentiation. Diamond`s standard connector/boot/adaptor colors are as follows: beige/black/beige for MM PC 5µm, beige/beige/beige for MM PC 6µm, blue/blue/blue for SM PC, and green/green/green for SM APC.
