6 6 Pigtails Patchcords Adaptors Pigtails Patchcords Adaptors Pigtails Patchcords Adaptors Fiber optic cords, duplex cables, breakout cables and adaptors are used to create patch connections for fiber optics. To ensure that these connections have low insertion loss and high return loss, the components must be manufactured and finished with great care and precision. When assembling fiber optic connectors, the polishing processes must be monitored very closely to ensure that high surface quality is achieved. This ensures that the connections will function reliably, even after frequent use. Fiber optic cords, duplex cable, breakout cables and adaptors have been tested and approved by well-known network operators in the domestic and foreign markets. Features n low insertion loss n high return loss n high surface quality n maximum reliability

This results in high resistance to kinking, small bending radii and good stripping characteristics of the cord (min. 1 m in one go). Description 900 µm semi-tight fiber optic cords are singlemode or multimode glass fibers with an acrylic primary coating (directly on the Ø 125 µm fiber), which are inserted in a jelly-filled, single fiber loose buffer. This buffer has a diameter of 900 µm. The desired fiber optic connector is attached to the pigtail at the factory. The finished 900 µm semi-tight fiber optic cords are spliced directly to the optical fibers of the cable. Application 900μm semi-tight fiber optic cords are used only to attach a connector to cable ends, which means pigtails are suitable only for use inside splice boxes. They are not used to make patch connections (in cable ducts or cabinets). Specifications: diameter: 900 µm colour of buffer tube: singlemode 9/125 µm multimode 50/125 µm multimode 62.5/125 µm min. bending radius: 30 mm max. tensile load: 5 N yellow orange white

22 22 Modular Cable System Modular Cable System Modular Cable System This flexible tube system allows the required number of fibers of the needed type to be blown in at any time. The network can thus be expanded in stages, thus also enabling just-in-time installation at lower cost. Upgrading fibers is easy and exchanged fibers or mini cables can be re-used. Typical applications are access networks (last mile) and in-house cabling systems without requiring any sub-distributors, floor distributors or splices from the central to final point. The fiber can be laid directly to the workstation. Features This makes the Modular Cable System the best solution for business parks, city networks, office complexes, hospitals and industrial areas. Depending on the application, the system is available for Direct Buried (DB) installation and Direct Install (DI) in existing ducts and for in-house (LFH) cabling. n future-proof for your network (flexible expansion) n just-in-time installation n lower cost n fiber upgrade possible at any time n various fiber types in one cable n FTTH customer desk LEONI offers various standard distributor and connector systems to connect the individual modular cables: SM or MM fiber units in 2, 4, 8 or 12 fiber configurations SM or MM mini cables in 24, 48, 60 or 72 fiber configurations loose tube cables with up to 1152 fibers The fibers can be blown in up to a length of 1.5 kilometres. n point-to-point installation n reduces splice and distribution points n modular cable with 3, 5 and 10 mm outer dia. n tubes with outer dia. of 32, 40 and 50 mm
