9 Best Practices WSIS Prizes Special Tracks Partner With Us The Open Consultation process (OCP) aims at ensuring a participatory and inclusive spirit of the Forum. This process actively engages multistakeholders in the preparatory process to ensure broad ownership and further improvements of the Forum. The Open Consultation Process will include a collection of inputs from regional and national WSIS related events. The physical meetings of the Open Consultation Process will benefit from remote participation. The Open Consultation Process for the WSIS Forum 2019 is structured in five phases as follows: Launch of the OCP 2 July st Physical Meeting/ during IGF November nd Physical Meeting January/February 2019 (To be confirmed) Deadline for Submissions 10 February 2019 Final Brief 8 March 2019

11 WSIS Stocktaking Process: An Opportunity for Global Promotion The Call for the WSIS Stocktaking Report 2019 is Ongoing Submit your ICT-related projects and initiatives and share best practices of implementing WSIS Action Lines and advancing SDGs! Submitted activities will be reflected in the WSIS Stocktaking Report 2019 which will be released at WSIS Forum 2019 (8-12 April 2019). WSIS Stocktaking database reached new records with entries and a growing community of 350,000 stakeholders.
12 WSIS Prizes: An Integral Part of the WSIS Stocktaking Most global recognized contest awarding best ICT practices for SDGs SUBMIT your ICT projects for WSIS Prizes 2019 By 30 November 2018 Each year, WSIS Prizes is recognizing 18 winners and 72 champions. In 2018 another record-breaking contest was implemented with 685 submitted projects, out of which 492 were nominated with 45% increase since 2017 New Call for WSIS Prizes 2019 has been launched WSIS Community is invited to submit ICT-related projects and promote this process within their communities and networks Since 2016, WSIS Prizes reflects close linkages with achieving SDGs, becoming one of the most globally appreciated efforts for collecting and promoting ICT-related projects and initiatives that also enable progress towards achieving SDGs on local, regional and global level
13 Best Practices WSIS Prizes Special Tracks Partner With Us OPEN CALL: WSIS Forum 2019 High Level Track Facilitators Open Call for Major Stakeholder Coordination Mechanisms following the WSIS Process to Identify and Nominate High-Level Track Facilitators (HLTF) for the WSIS Forum 2019; At the WSIS Forum 2019, the High-Level Policy Sessions of the High-level Track (HLT) will take place on the 9 and 10 April. The main task of the HLTF is to capture the vision, Identify emerging trends, opportunities and challenges shared by the leaders of their session. The Policy Sessions will be moderated by High-Level Track Facilitators (HLTF) nominated and identified by each stakeholder type i.e Government, Private Sector, Civil Society, Technical/ Academic community and International Organization. Each stakeholder type is invited to launch an Open Call to identify HLTF to represent their respective communities. Nominations should be submitted to the WSIS Secretariat at wsis-info@itu.int by 10 February 2019
14 Open Consultation Process WSIS Prizes Special Tracks Partner With Us WSIS Forum 2019 Photo Contest: Call for New Entries Following the successful second edition in 2018, WSIS Forum continues to exercise the Photo Contest in 2019 and invite the community to picture how Information and Communication Technologies are playing an enabling role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Participate in building a collage of ICT for Sustainable Development photographs from around the world by promoting the Photo Contest within your networks and communities. The three winning entries in the WSIS photo contest will be awarded and presented at the WSIS Forum The contest will collect photos until 10 February 2019.

16 Open Consultation Process Best Practices WSIS Prizes Partner With Us Virtual Reality for SDGs Pursuing a first partnership in 2016, WSIS and World VR Forum join forces to be at the forefront of Virtual Reality for advancing development. A shiny new Virtual Reality Track will be held at the WSIS Forum 2019 bringing together highlevel personalities, world class VR experience and a very special focus on education. TEDxGeneva After a successful edition last year, TEDxGeneva and the WSIS Forum are back to bring you to the crossroads of our fastchanging society--the crossroads of technology acceleration, human tradition, artificial intelligence, and an interconnected world. Hackathon As a continuation of the discussions initiated at the 2016 WSIS Forum, first ever Hackathon was held successfully in 2017 on e-health, and in 2018 the main topic was e-agriculture. Next year a Hackathon on Hacking Solutions for Lifelong Learning and Livelihoods will be held at the WSIS Forum We invite all interested coders to participate in the WSIS Hackathon. 17 Youth Engagement at the WSIS Forum 2019 Youth engagement is particularly important, given the fact that over 70% of people ages use the internet, compared with just 48% of the population overall. WSIS Forum 2018 experienced a successful launch of the Youth Track and we are looking forward to another youth engagement at the upcoming Forum Vloggers for SDGs Cloud Café UN Model Young Entrepreneurs
18 WSIS Forum 2019 Hackathon Coding for elearning What is the 2019 theme? WSIS Forum 2019 Hackathon on ICTs for SDGs, focusing on WSIS Action Line elearning will be organized by ITU and UNESCO Who is it for? For those passionate about technology and innovation for positive social impact For those have an idea or an existing project related to good education available to all Why should you participate? Because YOUR idea can make a difference in building a sustainable learning for all How to apply? As team (ideally between 3 to 8 participants; gender balance would be ideal) NOTE that you can also apply individually (to get matched with an existing team that wishes your support over the course of the Hackathon)
