18 MVP Program Requirements A signed letter of support A short statement of the community s commitment Local project manager and point of contact A summary of community support and any project partners A description of any ongoing planning and/or climate change efforts

20 Role of Municipality Procure a state certified MVP provider Establish a core team Work with MVP provider to identify and engage stakeholders Commit to continue municipal outreach and engagement Use the completed plan to inform existing planning and project activities

21 Maintaining MVP Designation Yearly progress report outlining the steps they have taken towards implementing their priority actions. 1. applying for grant funding 2. working to implement local changes to policies or bylaws 3. updating existing local plans using the outcomes of the workshop, etc. Communities who complete the process achieve advanced standing in EEA grant programs

22 This program is intended to provide funding to cities and towns to acquire and develop land for park and outdoor recreation purposes.

23 Status Update 66 communities awarded MVP funds (April-May, 2017) Training for 288 MVP service providers (Sep-Oct, 2017) Scheduling CRB workshops (Mar- May, 2018) CRB reports completed and submitted to EEA (June, 2018) FY19 funding (anticipated for late Spring, 2018)
