2 In 2007, the partnership between NDIX and Relined was really set in motion by the delivery of the first connection for the NDIX backbone. From that time onwards, the collaboration has been made even more wide-ranging. The services that NDIX provides are a good fit with the Dark Fiber network that Relined supplies and manages. Neither company is a competitor to the other, because Relined supplies Dark Fiber only, not any additional services. What s more, the two companies both complement and augment. Relined offers quality at an attractive price, which along with its great network coverage and the low damping in the connections are important reasons why we purchase Dark Fiber connections from Relined. Online marketplace NDIX is an open and independent broadband platform for companies and institutions from all sectors. NDIX uses fibre optic connections to connect business and institutions in the Netherlands and Germany to its online marketplace, which is the platform where more than 85 ICT service providers offer such services as the Internet, telephony, television, security and Cloud. Connected organisations can use their NDIX connection to choose any service they like, because the fibre optic connection and the services are kept separate from. What s more, 120 data centers in the Netherlands and Germany can already be connected with NDIX, which is also where they can access its peering platform. In addition to national connections and a fine-mesh Dark Fiber network in a whole host of city centres, Relined operates an undersea data transmission cable that connects the Netherlands and Denmark. Dennis Snijder, Manager sales, NDIX Connecting the data centers NDIX uses the Dark Fiber infrastructure supplied by Relined both as its backbone network and to interconnect data centers that house NDIX equipment (PoPs). Relined s connections are also used to build redundancy into the network. This redundancy is achieved by using two physically separate Dark Fibers to make the most important PoP locations in the network part of a ring. The NDIX network is a MPLS network, which means that in the event of a fault, the connection is automatically rerouted, so customers services are not disrupted.

NDIX s network now consists of 70 PoP locations that are connected to using Dark Fiber. Relined currently supplies NDIX with more than 900 kilometres of Dark Fiber connections, a figure that continues to grow each year.
