11 International Standard We follow interna.onal standard strictly. Various International standards for AC&R safety are there. Basically, refrigerant safety standards such as ISO 817 and ASHRAE 34 are there while equipment and installation standards such as IEC and ISO5149 are also. Refrigerant standards determine concentration limit, but appliance and installation standards determine allowable charge against installation space. HFC-32 is not listed as controlled chemical. Normally, this Decree stipulates requirements for the employer to provide sufficient safety measures in handling with hazardous chemicals controlled under this Decree. HFCs are controlled as Hazardous Substances Type 3. Therefore, similar provisions on import, export, having in procession and handling that are used for CFCs and HCFCs are also applied for HFC-32. Regarding storage and transportation of HFC-32, DIW would normally follow the requirement stipulated in the MSDS including some general provisions (e.g. must and must not). The TISI standards cover the procedures for performance test of unitary air-conditioning units and split-type airconditioning units. These standards require that nonflammable substances be used as refrigerant. The existing manual only accommodates three types of refrigerants. These are HCFC-22, R-407C, and R-410A. Testing is done by the Electrical and Electronics Institute.
