5 In 2017 Huawei Positioned as a Challenger in Gartner Magic Quadrant for DCN Huawei... is the vendor with the highest growth in this Magic Quadrant, more than doubling its data center networking business in 2016 and now ranking among the top five players in this market. The vendor has its roots in China, which still accounts for more than 60% of its revenue, but it made strong investments in emerging markets and Europe, achieving fast growth abroad in Huawei's Cloud Fabric architecture is based on a controller and spine-and-leaf design. Huawei's strategy is to support multiple controller alternatives, leveraging open standards when possible and providing flexible design options to clients, through a broad portfolio of CloudEngine switches and software products. The vendor has a growing ecosystem of partners, including VMware for NSX, Red Hat for OpenStack, and Puppet and Ansible for DevOps. 6 CloudEngine Switches Receive the ShowNet Product Award at Interop Tokyo 2016 At Interop Tokyo 2016, Huawei CE8860 and CE6851 data center switches received the Best of Show Award Grand Prix in the ShowNet Product category. ShowNet is a comprehensive demonstration of the Interop and has always been recognized as an important occasion to verify interoperability between multi-vendor equipment. Exhibitors from all over the world demonstrated their latest technologies and products, and tested their solutions in a real network environment. Huawei showcased the open SDN architecture composed of CE8860 and CE6800 at the exhibition, and verified the Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) and Ethernet VPN (EVPN) features of the switches, which can be used to establish SDN networks within and between data centers. During the demonstration, Huawei switches also interoperated with products from other vendors to establish EVPN networks successfully. 6

7 Huawei Awarded the Best Practice Award of 2015 by the SDN/NFV Industry Alliance China s first end-to-end data center SDN solution testing started on December 14, 2015, which was sponsored by the SDN/NFV Industry Alliance and jointly conducted by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom. The testing lasted for two months and tested data center network solutions of multiple vendors including Huawei. Huawei s data center hybrid overlay SDN solution underwent the benchmark testing for SDN solutions applicable to data centers. The solution met requirements defined in the data center SDN solution testing specifications (version 2.0) released by the SDN/NFV Industry Alliance and was awarded the Best Practice Award of The data center hybrid overlay SDN solution is composed of Huawei CE12800 and CE68000 data center switches, CE12800V virtual switch, and Agile Controller, an SDN controller. The solution uses a cloud platform to implement unified resource application and provisioning, shortening the service provisioning time. Moreover, it enables quick and flexible deployment of differentiated value-added services on a per tenant basis. 7

10 CloudEngine Switches Passed OpenFlow1.3 Certification the Earliest In Sep. 2015, Huawei CloudEngine switches passed the OpenFlow1.3 conformance certification test conducted in BII Group s Global SDN Certified Testing Center. They are among the first switches that have passed OpenFlow1.3 conformance certification. All the tests for OpenFlow v1.3 conformance certification were completed using OFsuite, the world s first tool suite covering all ONF OpenFlow v1.3 testing specifications. It provides automatic testing on network devices in the Global SDN Certified Testing Center, and also offers comprehensive monitoring and diagnosis functions, helping to modify and upgrade devices during testing. CC certification is supervised by the national security departments of 26 CC member countries. Members include developed countries such as the U.S., Japan, and European countries, as well emerging market countries such as India. CC certification covers technical tests and evaluations including product security, vulnerability analysis, encryption technology, and product manual tests, as well as system tests and evaluations including development process, configuration management, and production delivery. 12

14 Huawei CE12800 Series Rated Shockproof at Level 8/9 by MIIT Huawei's Unique Certificate The Seismic Test Center of Telecommunications Equipment (STCTE) is affiliated with the Research Institute of Telecommunications Transmission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China. STCTE formulates standards for shockproof test of telecommunications devices, researches telecommunications technologies and shock test technologies, supervises and inspects the performance and quality of various telecommunications devices, and provides technical support for shockproof work in the IT industry. 14

16 Huawei and Spirent Completed Large-Scale TRILL Networking Test for Huawei CE12800 Series Core Switches TRILL-based full mesh and network size test: Huawei CE12816 chassis provides 16 line cards with 48 x 10GE ports (480 Gbit/s) per line card. The test results show that the CE12816 supports TRILL-based networking with up to 512 nodes. In addition, the CE12816 implements TRILL-based line-speed forwarding for 768 x 10GE ports. This test is China s largest-scale full-frame 10GE port full mesh test and also the largestscale TRILL-based full mesh test. The CE12816 is currently the only data center switch that passed this test in China. This test further verifies that the CE12816 supports TRILL standards and provides industry-leading forwarding performance. We are pleased to confirm that Huawei used our latest test platform to test the CE12816 s industry-leading TRILL-based networking capability and high-speed forwarding performance. Spirent s 400G high-density test module can simulate a real-world networking environment and provides a flexible, cost-effective solution, helping device vendors verify their data center TOR and EOR switches. 17 Huawei CE12800 Series Passed Ixia s Full-Frame, Full Mesh Forwarding Performance Test Huawei CE12804 chassis provides four line cards with 24 x 40GE per line card. The test results show that the CE12804 implements line-speed forwarding for 96 x 40GE ports without packet loss. The highest bidirectional service flow traffic reaches up to 3.84 Tbit/s. The CE12804 is currently the only data center core switch that passed Ixia s full-frame 40GE port full mesh test in China. Huawei CE12808 chassis provides eight line cards with 48 x 10GE per line card. The test results show that the CE12808 implements line-speed forwarding for 384 x 10GE ports without packet loss. The highest bidirectional service flow traffic reaches up to 3.84 Tbit/s. Using a large-scale, real-world service flow test environment, we have witnessed the powerful performance of Huawei s data center switch products. To meet the test requirements for ultra-large scale and performance, Ixia is dedicated to improving the port rate, density, and protocol scalability of devices under test.
