10 Technical Consolidation: UNISIG and the Users Group have defined a Consolidation Strategy Interoperability is being demonstrated in three steps: Laboratory test campaigns with reference tools, pilot lines and Increasingly in commercial contracts (cross-validation of products from different manufacturers).

15 Assessment Process towards Certification UNISIG and the Users Group have defined a common Assessment Process towards Certification UNISIG supports CEDEX as competent neutral lab able to implement the reference test architecture.

19 Conclusions 90% of all foreseen mandatory UNISIG specification documents are already in the Annex A of the TSI and are the basis for the running projects A formal Change Control Management (CCM) process exists UNISIG and the Users Group maintain an agreed common process and a list to close open points which is systematically reviewed every month

20 Conclusions Starting from an inception kernel and deploying corridors is the best way ahead UNISIG will support the EC and the ERA in the maintenance of the ERTMS/ETCS specifications, the CBA and the version management of the system UNISIG and the Users Group had worked successfully for a number of years; for UNISIG it is essential to maintain a body of competent railways representatives.
