3 Fixed Problems Fixed Problems No Items Contents 1 Remote array no longer goes down when a Swap Pair or horctakeover operation is performed on a TrueCopy Extended Distance (TCE) volume in VMware. Replication Previously, when a Swap Pair or horctakeover was performed in TCE on an array connected to a VMware ESX host (Note 1), both controllers could fail and lead to a system-down condition. Note 1: Target versions: VMware ESX 4.1 and 5.0 HJ2DA1 Microprogram error[snr] (a-1) Using Storage Navigator Modular 2 (1) TCE is enabled. (2) Swap Pair is performed on a TCE pair in Paired status. (3) The pair status of the TCE S-VOL is Busy. (4) VMware ESX 4.1 and 5.0 accesses to the TCE S- VOL. (a-2) Using CCI (1) TCE is enabled. (2) A horctakeover is performed on a TCE pair in PAIR status. (3) The pair status of the TCE S-VOL is SSWS. (4) VMware ESX 4.1 and 5.0 accesses to the TCE S- VOL. 4 Fixed Problems 2 Array no longer goes down when updating firmware in an array that has SATA drives. Backend Previously, when a firmware update was performed on an array that has SATA drives installed, both controllers could fail and the array could go down. HH8U0x D-SPC detected firmware error(ctl-x) (1) SATA drives are installed. (2) One of the following operations is executed. Or backend failure occurs. -Firmware update -Starting array system -Rebooting array system -ENC replacement -ENC firmware update -Controller replacement -SATA drive replacement -Adding a additional unit with SATA drive installed (3) In (2), linkup sequence between ENC and SATA drive fails due to SATA drive failure. 5 Fixed Problems 3 Host access is no longer lost when an online firmware update is performed using Storage Navigator Modular 2 (HSNM2). Common Previously, performing an online firmware update from HSNM2 could stop host I/O processing for about five minutes and cause a loss in host access. None (1) Online firmware update is executed from HSNM2. (2) When controller rebooting starts by online firmware update of (1), LAN data transfer error or transfer delay occurs due to LAN failure with connection of reboot controller. 6 Known Problems 4 Controller failure no longer occurs repeatedly due to a hardware error occurring when a 1 Gbps iscsi interface is being configured. iscsi interface Previously, when a host that is not mapped to a host group is connected to a 1 Gbps iscsi interface that is being configured, a controller could fail repeatedly occur due to a hardware error. H09601 The PCI Express device error was detected. (1) 1 Gbps iscsi interface is installed. (2) Firmware version 08B5/A and later. (3) Login and logout to iscsi target repeatedly occur. (For example, it occurs when connected to a host that is not mapped to a host group.)
