5 Week: Course Dynamics This course is organized around an eight-week program. Weekly outcomes, assignments, and critical information are organized week-by-week. Typically, each week includes a reading assignment, forum submittal, assignment, and work on your final course project. Work on your final project every week and make periodic submittals of your progress as required by your Facilitator. Online weeks correlate to a 7-day work week. Each week's work begins on a Sunday. Week One begins on the first day of the session, which is always a Monday. Prior to the start of each week, before Sunday, complete the reading assignments. On Sunday of each week, read your weekly critical information found in the Week-by-Week section. (Note: Your timely understanding of critical information content may be required to complete your weekly assignment or final project.) Generally, by Wednesday of each week, make your initial post for the week or your assignment to your facilitator based on what is required in the Week by Week Activities. Generally, by Saturday of each week, make a follow-up post as required in the Week by Week Activities. Course Notes In general, you will be working on a relational database model and its concepts via the Forum every week. You will work on a example and review other classmates' examples. This is intended to simulate the type of work needed for your term project. Your Facilitator will grade each individual delivery and provide feedback each week. You are strongly encouraged to particiapte in your small goup Forum to discuss and embellish your Final Project and incorporate changes into your project for the final delivery in Week 8. Week 1: Introduction to Databases

6 Reading: Rob, Coronel: Chapters 1 & 2 Miscellaneous: Install MySQL Database as outlined in the Week by Week menu. Week 2: Relational Data Modeling and Normalization Reading: Rob, Coronel: Chapters 3, 4 & 5 Final Project: Post your Final Project ERD file to your small group Forum. Due Wednesday, midnight, of Week 2. Post constructive suggestions to each of your team member's ERD in the Forum. Read any comments on your ERD and use this feedback to improve it.
