New enhanced user interface in Prepress Improved workflow Completely re-worked and modernized queue system improves workflow and print-to-cut productivity. New combined Job Queue, Nesting Queue, Cut Queue and History Queue makes Océ Prepress a very efficient and powerful pre-production and planning tool for print-to-cut jobs. Each Queue can be customized. The operator simply moves and places columns into the favorite position. Column data can be switched ON/OFF as required. Note! 2 ADDITIONAL INFO Collapsed View Expanded View Relevant file information together with image preview is shown with each file being imported into Océ ProCut. Two view modes are available; collapsed and expanded. Note! Options to Zoom, preview Cut Path and Tool Path appear in Expanded view! 3 FILE IMPORT Files can now be imported through the IMPORT button in Job Queue. Directly at the import stage, operators are given a chance to apply job specific data like Customer name, Order ID, Due Date with each file. These data are useful to plan and streamline digital print and cut productions in a typical busy print-shop environment. Note! Quantity, Media, Nesting and Double Sided options can easily be applied at time of import! Warning! EPS files are not supported in ProCut Prepress 4.0! SEARCH FIELD A Filter and Search field is available for locating jobs, materials or a specific customer name. The Search function filters across all queues at the same time providing the operator with a very fast and effective tool to reach the right job. April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 3/16

4 JOB EDITING Océ ProCut Prepress file editing tools is accessed as usual by double-clicking on a job line in the Job Queue or from the EDIT button in the Expanded View. The Editor helps the operator, select the correct curve(s) for cutting, do last minute curve editing, cropping, scaling, in-/outlining, tiling etc. before generating print-ready output or before nesting the job. GENERATING FILES All files must now be processed through this Generate dialog. Note! It is possible to process multiple files at the same time. E.g. 5 2. New powerful auto shape nesting Océ ProCut Prepress 4.0 offers the best-in-class true shape nesting output on the market. With the launch of 4.0, nesting results will appear very fast and very efficient beating any other product on material utilization, speed and productivity. Note! 6 EXTREMELY USER-FRIENDLY Advanced true-shape nesting made very visual and easy to use, without unclear and cumbersome options. The software informs about material utilization, number of sheets required, square meter usage, no. of jobs/files nested, and sheet sizes. MEDIA CENTRIC SETTINGS Rotations, distance between jobs, margins and sheet dimensions are configured and pre-set through the Cut Media Manager. It is possible to setup several different sheet sizes per media and select which one to be nested per default. Note! Sheet dimensions, distance, margin, angle and copies can be altered directly from the Nesting Queue! Note! Trim Sheet function cuts across the remaining sheet to leave a re-useable piece! 7 SMART SERVER CONTROLLED AUTO NESTING ProCut Server will automatically nest all jobs on all media as a background process. This powerful and unique workflow feature ensures highest productivity without operator intervention. All jobs for each media are automatically nested onto the default sheets providing ProCut Prepress clients with easy-to-accept available outputs! MINIMUM LAYOUTS MULTIPLE COPIES Every nesting output generated is automatically calculated to find as few different layouts as possible. This feature saves RIP and Print time, Cut time and greatly reduces the amount of megabytes in action. April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 7/16

8 REMNANT HANDLING ProCut includes tools to handle the remnant area of sheets that have not been completely filled up with jobs. Trim sheet will include a trim line within the cut file, simply cutting across the media at the end of the last print! The remnant area is a rectangular piece, possible to use. Fill sheets with standards is a function that automatically places smaller sheet formats onto the remnant area when space is available. N Note! Fill standards are predefined sheet dimensions specified in the Cut Media Manager. This feature could be used to trim large sheets down to smaller customer standard formats that is e.g. used for printing edge-toedge or into sizes that fits Arizona vacuum zones! Deactivate sheet will hold jobs on the sheet and only output the remaining sheets, allowing these jobs to be nested with the next coming jobs. April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 8/16

9 Auto size last sheet is used to specify that ProCut should use whatever possible smaller sheet (defined within Cut Media Manager) as the last sheet in a nesting sequence. Using this feature, ProCut will automatically find the most optimal sheet size as the last format. E.g. if the default sheet is 2000x3000mm and a layout takes 2 sheets, the last sheet is only filled 1/3, then why not create a layout that prints perfectly on a smaller pre-cut / or stocked 1000x1400mm sheet? First sheet => default filled sheet! Last sheet => smaller sheet with highest possible utilization and no waste! April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 9/16

10 3. Double sided print support Océ ProCut Prepress 4.0 includes new functionality to support applications where printing is required on both sides of the media. Single files (symmetric shapes) Simply import the single page file and prepare normally without nesting. When generating the Print output, select sheet size from Cut Media Library or enter Width and Height. The output file is then centered on the sheet, allowing the print operator to print the job on both sides, flipping the sheet over (left-to-right, around the vertical axis). 12 2-page files for nesting (any shape) ProCut Prepress will nest double sided jobs too, but only 2-page PDF files. These files will nest with other 2-page and single page files. Prepress will ensure perfect print alignment between front and backside. The steps are: Create the 2-page PDF in Illustrator use two Artboards and align to center mirror, modify text etc. Simply import the 2-page PDF and select Double Side and process the job as any other nesting job! Import 2-page PDF and select Double Side + Nesting! ProCut will nest and generate a 2-page print-ready PDF. April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 12/16

14 4. Cut Queue with Cut Time Estimation Océ ProCut Prepress 4.0 includes a Cut Queue tab where all prepared Cut jobs will be listed. All cut files processed through Prepress will include a Cut Time Estimate in the Cut Queue! Cut Path calculations are based on actual Media settings which include tool, speed, acceleration etc. Setup and Handling Time can be setup by the customer individually and will be added to the Cut Time stamp displayed in the Cut Queue. SET CUT ORDER is a feature to specify the priority / Cut order of the selected jobs. This helps plan production time for operators in an easy and efficient way. Note! A password is required to SET and CLEAR CUT ORDER. The default password is: z The password can be set individually by the enduser. April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 14/16

15 CUT QUEUE IN PROCUT VISION Océ ProCut Vision 4.0 is connected to the Cut Queue. With this connection, locating, planning and setting cut orders for jobs is quickly done directly at the ProCut machine. 5. MAC and WINDOWS compatible Prepress Clients Océ ProCut Prepress 4.0 includes complete Mac and PC clients with same functionality. OS X Mountain Lion - Mavericks Windows 7 - Windows 8 6. Print / Unprint Layers in Prepress Editor Océ ProCut Prepess 4.0 includes new functionality to hide / show PDF layers. This function is useful when cut paths are placed on top of the image and as a result of this will be visual in the print. Since almost no cut paths should be printed, this function to hide the layers will be useful! Note! This feature requires the PDF to be designed with layers. April 15, 2014 R4 PUBLIC Page 15/16
