2 Signalis DMX Decoder Features: Decodes DMX signal allowing control of RGB and single colour LED lighting 0-100% brightness adjusting, 256 levels of grey scale per channel. Easily addressable with simple dip-switch Wide voltage input: DC5V-24V Over load protection DMX pass though and in/out connector for daisy chain configurations (To a maximum of 100m from controller) Surelight s range of DMX decoding units translate DMX signals allowing complex control of LED lighting. Surelight s Signalis DMX 512 Decoders have exceptionally fast response times, giving an almost strobe like effect. All channels can chase, flash, sequence or have continuous output when controlled with pc-based software, advanced DMX control switch or any DMX lighting desk. 2

12 Signalis Functionality & DMX Address Settings Setting the Decoder Address This decoder occupies 3 addresses, change the DIP switches to set the address. DIP switches 1 to 9 use binary coding to assign the DMX512 initial address code. Example 1: Set DMX512 address to 37 Set the 6th, 3rd, 1st DIP switch downward to 1 all others to 0, the total sum of on switches from 1 to 9 is , so the DMX512 initial address code is 37. Example 2: Set DMX512 address to 328 Set the 9th, 7th, 4th DIP switch downward to 1 all others to 0, the total sum of on switches from 1 to 9 is , so the DMX512 initial address code is 328. Testing Function The 10th DIP switch is FUN, acting as a function key. When the 10th switch is set to 0 the decoder will recieve DMX512 signals as normal. When the 10th switch is set to 1 the decoder works in testing mode, allowing you to test LED colours. SWITCH 1-9 OFF: BLACK SWITCH 1 IS ON: RED SWITCH 2 IS ON: GREEN SWITCH 3 IS ON: BLUE SWITCH 4 IS ON: YELLOW SWITCH 5 IS ON: PURPLE SWITCH 6 IS ON: CYAN SWITCH 7 IS ON: WHITE Picture 3 SWITCH 8 IS ON: 7 COLOUR JUMPING (8 SPEED LEVELS) SWITCH 9 IS ON: 7 SMOOTH COLOUR CHANGING (8 SPEED LEVELS) Colour Jumping & Smooth Colour Changing Speed When decoder is in testing mode as above, having DIP Switch 8 set to 1 ON, puts the decoder into 7 Color Jumping Mode. When DIP Switch 9 is set to 1 ON, it s the 7 Smooth Colour Changing Mode. There are 8 speed levels for each effect: SWITCH 1-7 OFF= SPEED 0 SWITCH 1 IS ON = SPEED 1 SWITCH 2 IS ON = SPEED 2 SEITCH 3 IS ON = SPEED 3 SWITCH 4 IS ON = SPEED 4 SWITCH 5 IS ON = SPEED 5 SWITCH 6 IS ON = SPEED 6 SWITICH 7 IS ON = SPEED 7 When several DIP SWITCHES are set to ON at the same time (in testing mode) the decoder will use the largest value switch. Having all the switches set to ON will set the status to 7 Smooth Colour Changing Mode at speed 7. 12
