5 The Passwords YUWireless credentials: Username: Active Directory name (for many, this is the prefix of the address) Password: By default the password should be the first initial of your last name, followed by the last four digits of your SSN. (x####) If you do not have a SSN (international student), the password defaults to the first initial of your last name, followed by the last four digits of your BANNER ID. Canvas credentials: Username: YUAD\Active Directory name (for many, this is the prefix of the "@law.cardozo.yu.edu" address) Password: By default the password should be the first initial of their your name, followed by the last four digits of your SSN. (x####) If you do not have a SSN (international student), the password defaults to the first initial of the last name, followed by the last four digits of your BANNER ID. Gmail: If you did not receive your law.cardozo.yu.edu , please go to to obtain your log in information. 6 YUWireless The wireless network at Cardozo is called YUWireless. The username, between 4-8 characters depending on your legal name, is assigned by the University; the default password is the first letter of your last name followed by the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Mac/iPhone/Windows 10 (or later) users should simply select YUWireless at the outset and follow the prompts to enter username & password, select WPA2 Enterprise security and accept the certificate; Mac/iPhone users should not run YUSetup. For those using older versions Windows please contact the Student IT Help Point. If you use a Windows-based laptop, you must have up-to-date anti-virus software running on the laptop. The University provides Symantec End Point software at no charge to students. Mac users are not required at this time to use an anti-virus product, but anti-virus software for the Mac is available at no charge from the University. To download the software, visit Be sure to first uninstall all other anti-virus software before installing these Symantec products.
