Adding a new account Click on the [New User] link under the Users section of the admin page. This will bring up the page below. The Alias and Username are usually kept the same and are the part before symbol in the address ie newname@myclucb.com When creating new accounts you typically only need to fill in the Alias, Password, Password Confirm and Name fields. The rest can be left as they are. Screenshot of User setting screen

Basic Settings Field Alias Description This is the user s name at the domain. Example: to setup the address support@icewarp.com enter an alias of support. Multiple aliases can be used by separating them with a semi-colon: support;help;bugs;info Username This is the name of the mailbox and mail account. Usually automatically created by the system. This is what is used for authentication and mail collection. It defaults to the same as the alias but does not have to be. The mailbox name is also used as the login for web admin or remote configuration. Password Name The password for the mailbox. Repeat in the confirmation field. The real name, or an identifier. This is used in autoresponders and for displaying the accounts. You can also specify a comment in this field. You should use the semi-colon and then enter the comment. The comment is not used for autoresponders and account displaying. It's only used in searches and for your needs. Eg. "John Doe; my comment over here" Advanced Settings (a full description of all settings is available on request) Field Mailbox Path Remote Address Forward To User State Description This specifies that any mail received to this account is stored in the defined mailbox. The directory name of the mailbox defaults to the name of the alias but can be different. This field can even contain a full qualified path. This specifies that mail is not to be stored by this mail account and forwarded onto a remote address instead. This address should be of the format name@domain.com All incoming mail will be forwarded onto any addresses specified here. This is a separate option not related to "mailbox path" or "remote address". This provides a mechanism for copying to remote or local accounts. Enabled - Fully working account. Disabled (Login) - Partially disabled account. Mail is received, but user can not log-in and read it. It is very suitable for ISP providers, if they

need to disable account just temporary. Disabled (Login, Receive) - Disabled Account. Disabled (Tarpitting) - If and is delivered to this account, sender is considered as "tarpitter" (See SECURITY Tab, Tarpitting) and his IP address is blocked as set in the Tarpitting Options. Mail Lists The mailing list feature is an easy way of sending off a mail to a single address that will be forwarded to all the members of the list. They are especially useful as discussion groups or connecting with others who share the same interests and ideas. For example, you may setup a list called committee (ie committee@myclub.com) which would consist of all members on the committee for the club. Any member of the list could then just send an to committee@myclub.com and the mail server would then send the to all members on the list. To create a mailing list: On the mail configuration screen click the [New Mailing List] link Fill in the Alias field. This will be the name of the list and the part before symbol in the (ie mylist@myclub.com) Fill in the list description Enter the owner of the list, this will usually be the account of the mail server administrator (ie postmaster@myclub.com) Click the Add button which will create the list and the text Account added successfully will be displayed at the top of the screen. Go back to the mail server config screen by clicking on the domain link at the top of the screen just below the Accounts Add Mailing List title bar ie [mydomain.com] In the Mailing List section click on the newly created mailing list In the general section click the List File: link which will enable you to add/remove members on the list

Description of other mail list fields Field Alias Description Owner Set From To: Set Reply-To: Swap Fields: Description A unique identifier of the account in the domain. A short descriptive text of the account. The address of the owner of the list. Multiple addresses can be specified using the semicolon delimiter. Owner has special rights to this account. Either you want to set the From field to Sender and Reply To to the address of the mailing list (this will cause all replies to go to the mailing list back to the mailing list). Or you want to set the Reply-To field to Sender and From to the address of the mailing list (this will cause all replies to go to the sender of the message). You can also set your own value to any of the headers. Use the Swap Fields checkbox to toggle the settings for these fields. Set recipient to: Add to Subject: Members Only Deny EXPN Max mail size Moderated mailing list Specifies a new recipient in the To header. Each message sent out from the Mailing list will have a final recipient of the mailing list member in the This prefixes the subject line with the specified string. If the text is already present it does not duplicate it. If the subject line is not present it is created. Specifies that only the members of the mailing list can send messages to the mailing list. If members have some flags set they need the POST flag. If a client issues the EXPN command the list members will be returned. Using this option prevents from such behaviour. "No such mailing list" response will be returned. Specifies the maximum message size that can be sent to the mailing list. A moderated mailing list is where a message needs to contain a password for the message to be approved and sent to list members. There must be a password at the start of the Subject. If the password is not specified then the message is sent to the list owner who can add it and send it back. When the message is sent out to list members the password part from the Subject is removed. Is used along with the option Server moderated all messages are saved on server and when replied to them the original message will be sent out to members. In that case the reply serves as a password message only. To delete stored messages on the server and not sending them out to the mailing list add '-DELETE' to your approval password. Server Moderated Some mail clients support the X-Approved MIME header which contains the password. Merak automatically checks that header. If it finds it and the password is correct it does not check and remove the first line. It will only remove the X-Approved header. If the mail is sent without a password, it will stay waiting on the server for confirmation and the notification is automatically sent to the sender. If sender replies to this notification mail, the original mail is sent from the server to the recipients on the mailing list. Digest mailing list Send to Sender This processing should be used as a protection against unauthorized senders. Specifies that all messages sent to this mailing list will be saved and kept in a package file which will contain the list of messages and their bodies. At midnight a single message will be sent to the digest members of the mailing list. If unchecked and a user (on the list) sends a message to the list, he himself will not receive the message. If checked he will receive a copy of

Copy to Owner his own message. If the owner is not on the list, this option will copy messages to the address specified in the "owner" field. However, it is suggested that owners subscribe to the list themselves.

Web Statistics The web statistics feature is used to track the traffic to you club or association website and is useful for attracting advertisers and analysing where your web traffic is being sourced from. SportzVault uses the acclaimed web statistics package AWStats which offers commercial level statistics for your website. To access Web Statistics, login to SportzVault admin, and choose the Site SportzVault Options..Web Statistics menu item. Web Statistics are only available from the time the option has been enabled for your club/association. Screenshot of web statistics interface for your club or association website Unique Visitor: A unique visitor is a host that has made at least 1 hit on 1 page of your web site during the current period shown by the report. If this host make several visits during this period, it is counted only once. The period shown by AWStats reports is by default the current month. However if you use AWStats as a CGI you can click on the "year" link to have a report for all the year. In a such report, period is full year, so Unique Visitors are number of hosts that have made at least 1 hit on 1 page of your web site during those year.

Visits: Number of visits made by all visitors. Think "session" here, say a unique IP accesses a page, and then requests three others without an hour between any of the requests, all of the "pages" are included in the visit, therefore you should expect multiple pages per visit and multiple visits per unique visitor (assuming that some of the unique IPs are logged with more than an hour between requests) Pages: The number of "pages" logged. Only files that don't match an entry in the NotPageList config parameter (and match an entry of OnlyFiles config parameter if used) are counted as "Pages". Usually pages are reserved for HTML files or CGI files, not images nor other files requested as a result of loading a "Page" (like js,css... files). Hits: Any files requested from the server (including files that are "Pages") except those that match the SkipFiles config parameter. Bandwidth: Total number of bytes for pages, images and files downloaded by web browsing. Note 1: Of course, this number includes only traffic for web only (or mail only, or ftp only depending on value of LogType). Note 2: This number does not include technical header data size used inside the HTTP or HTTPS protocol or by protocols at a lower level (TCP, IP...). Because of two previous notes, this number is often lower than bandwith reported by your provider (your provider counts in most cases bandwitdh at a lower level and includes all IP and UDP traffic). Entry Page: First page viewed by a visitor during its visit. Note: When a visit started at end of month to end at beginning of next month, you might have an Entry page for the month report and no Exit pages. That's why Entry pages can be different than Exit pages. Exit Page: Last page viewed by a visitor during its visit. Note: When a visit started at end of month to end at beginning of next month, you might have an Entry page for the month report and no Exit pages. That's why Entry pages can be different than Exit pages. Session Duration: The time a visitor spent on your site for each visit. Some Visits durations are 'unknown' because they can't always be calculated. This is the major reason for this: - Visit was not finished when 'update' occured. - Visit started the last hour (after 23:00) of the last day of a month (A technical reason prevents AWStats from calculating duration of such sessions).

Add To Favourites: This value, available in the "miscellanous chart", reports an estimated value of the number of times a visitor has added your web site into its favourite bookmarks. The technical rules for that is the following formula: Number of Add to Favourites = round((x+y) / r) where x = Number of hits made by IE browsers for "/anydir/favicon.ico", with a referer field not defined, and with no 404 error code y = Number of hits made by IE browsers for "/favicon.ico", with a referer field not defined, with or without 404 error code r = Ratio of hits made by IE browsers compared to hits made by all browsers (r <= 1) As you can see in formula, only IE is used to count reliable "add", the "Add to favourites" for other browsers are estimated using ratio of other browsers usage compared to ratio of IE usage. The reason is that only IE do a hit on favicon.ico ONLY when a user add the page to its favourites. The other browsers make hits on this file also for other reasons so we can't count one "hit" as one "add" since it might be a hit for another reason. AWStats differentiate also hits with error and not to avoid counting multiple hits made recursively in upper path when favicon.ico file is not found in deeper directory of path.
