1 First Steps in TUCaN Information for International Degree-seeking Students Activate your digital identity Go to: On the answer sheet TU Darmstadt sent you after enrolment you ll find an activation code for your TU-ID. Enter the activation code and click on Confirm. Next you have to fill in some personal details and set a password for your TU-ID. 2 Open the web portal Go to: Enter your TU-ID and your password. Click on Log in. Now you re on your personal start page. On this site you can see which events take place today and whether new messages have arrived. Register for a module Before you can sign in for a course, you have to register yourself to a module of which the course is part of. Step 1: Go to Courses. Step 2: In the left submenu, click on Registration. Step 3: Click on the field where the module belongs to. When you re starting first with TUCaN you might have to click through all elements of the list to orientate yourself. 3 Step 4: Now you can register for the module you wish to participate. Step 5: Click on Next. Step 6: Click on Submit. If the registration worked, the message Your registration has been successful will appear. In case you wish to register for further modules click on Back to registration. 4 If you want to check which modules you have registered, you can click on My Current Registrations. Register for a course You need to go back to the Courses menu and click on Registration. If you have registered for a module, you ll also find the courses underneath the module name. Now you can register for them. The procedure is similar to the module registration. Good to know: If you can t manage to register for a certain module or course in TUCaN, in most cases you can nevertheless attend the course. Please get in touch with the Studienbüro ( regarding the registration, but in the meanwhile don t miss a class. 5 Register for an examination You can only register for an examination if you are registered for the corresponding module or course. If you register for a module or course, you are not automatically registered for the associated examination. Step 1: Open the menu Examinations. Step 2: Open the sub menu My Examinations. Step 3: Click on Exams offered for registration. Step 4: Choose the semester in which you have registered for the module. Choose the examination for which you wish to register. Click on Register. 6 Step 5: Click on Submit. Step 6: Now you have registered for the examination. The message Your registration has been successful confirms the registration. If you wish to register for further examinations, click on Back to exam registration. Repeat steps 4 and 5.
