Communication s Corner Your Facilitator s Tool of the Month: Accessing the Facilitator s SharePoint Site Ramesh Illanko at Home with the Lord Our hearts and prayers are with the family of Ramesh Illanko (Illanko Rameshkumar), who entered God s presence on June 25 after a sudden attack of dengue fever. In addition to his significant roles as senior lecturer in theology at Lanka Bible College and visiting pastor among many Tamil-speaking churches, Ramesh was a MAOL graduate of the Sri Lanka 2011 batch, and the DAI MAOL Cohort Coordinator for our partnership with Lanka Bible College/Centre for Graduate Studies. Ramesh leaves behind his wife, Anusha, and three young children. Anusha runs a small preschool in their home and has now become the sole bread winner for the family. Should you be led to share with the family in a tangible way, please consider gifts that can be used toward the children s immediate educational needs and other urgent expenses. If you live outside the US, you may want to inquire at your local DAI office for the best way to donate. The other option is to go to daintl.org/donate. This can be energizing, especially if it s during the afternoon sleepy time. You might try meeting in a room much larger than your designated space. Mike Brown (Brainzooming.com) suggests, When you give people more physical space for their bodies, you ll be surprised at how it translates into more mental white space to think about new ideas. If you have an activity planned that is conducive to the outdoors, consider remaining in that place for the entire session. 3 Facilitator s Tool-of-the-Month Accessing and Using Your Facilitator s SharePoint Site (Ini Edet and Vicki Gascho) Ini s instructions for Accessing the Facilitator s SharePoint Site: DAI uses Microsoft SharePoint to grant MA facilitators access teaching materials. To protect the content of our curriculum, every facilitator is required to use ONLY Microsoft accounts for authentication and verification purposes. These accounts include Hotmail, Outlook, MSN, and Office 365 accounts (private or business). If you have not yet used the SharePoint site and have any of the above listed accounts, Ini Edet (iedet@daintl.org) will grant you access to the facilitator s site using your account. Alternately, you also can first create an account for this purpose at msn.com. (Depending on the browser you are using Chrome is usually preferred for SharePoint users once the msn page opens, hold your cursor over the outlook icon, and you will see the option to create now. Follow the instructions and then send the pertinent information to Ini with your request.) Follow these steps: 1. If you have not done so previously, you must send a request to Iedet@daintl.org for access. Include your name and the address that you wish to use. 2. After you have sent your request, log into your and check for an reply from Ini Edet. 3. Open the and click on the link as shown on the screenshot below. Note!! The link in your will expire within 72 hours, so don t delay!! To access the site once you have your access in order, go to the following link and sign in: 4. The link will redirect you to a SharePoint page to verify your account. Please, select Microsoft Account for all Hotmail, Outlook, and MSN accounts. For Office 365 users, select Organizational Account.

4 5. Enter your credentials: address and password. 6. If you have entered the right address and password, you will have access to the DAI MA facilitator site.

5 When you need a password reset: Most facilitators use their personal s like Hotmail, Outlook.com, and msn. If they have forgotten or want to reset their account password, they need to go to the login page to initiate the password reset process. However, facilitators accounts can contact Ini (Iedet@daintl.org) and he will reset the account password. Vicki s Instructions for Finding the Things You Need on the Site Once you have gained access to the Facilitator s site, your screen probably will resemble Ini s last screenshot above. If you get lost somewhere in the site, scroll to the top of your page and click on the words MA Facilitators in tiny blue font, and it should take you back to the page with the flags. Then scroll down until you see the labels below. Have fun exploring the Facilitator s site, but note that 3 sections will be especially helpful to you: Country Information (famously known as the Flag Page ) Click on the flag of the country you are interested in to get the coordinator s contact information. You ll need that location to seek information about local residency information, discover a contact list for the upcoming cohort, look at the grading scales for your cohort, and find other important information specific to the country and your work there. If you need additional incountry information, write to the coordinator. Residency Information. Under this heading you will find: Residency Schedule, which includes the date each new residency begins, the cohort code, course name, facilitator (if assigned), country, and term. Facilitator Handbook, where all sorts of relevant documents and templates are found, specific to your work in both the residency and throughout the course. Open it and scan through it, then return to the individual documents when you need specific information. Courses and Resources. Click on the course in which you are interested. Here you will find: A pdf of each complete course in the latest edition List of required textbooks (request from Harold Overstreet your copy of the textbook for the course you are teaching (HOverstreet@daintl.org). Facilitator directives, sample syllabi, exams, sample power points, and other resources and ideas None of the above are in perfect form yet, but we re working on getting them better and better.
