1 ECMS Manual The Exhibitor-Content-Management System (ECMS) The following pages will provide you with a guide explaining how to use the ECMS. 3 1. Logging in accessing ECMS from OBS. ECMS, our exhibitor content management system, allows you to present your company effectively on the trade show website. Potential new customers can contact your business, and you can create a lasting impression before, during and after the event. Use your OBS access data to login to the OBS portal at You should have received your access details with the written confirmation of your stand reservation. If you do not have your OBS access details to hand, you can obtain your ECMS login information separately by contacting the Media-Service. Please note that in this case, your ECMS login details will not provide access to the OBS portal. Once logged into OBS, click on Order services in the lefthand navigation bar, and then on Services below it. An overview will open in the middle of your screen. If you then click on the section, Highlighting your company (ECMS) and then Company & Product Information, a direct link to the ECMS will appear ( Open ECMS ). The section Company & Product Information also contains the contact details for the Media-Service. This department will assist you if you have any queries.

4 2. Your basic media entry in ECMS After logging in to the ECMS, you will be directed to your media entry overview. Under the master data for your entry (including event year and contract number), you will find six sections. Together, these ensure your company is presented as effectively as possible. Sections: 1. Company description 2. Products incl. product groups 3. Contacts 4. Stand description 5. Fields of business activity 6. Corporate video New information for each section can be entered by clicking Edit. When you are done, just click Save.

5 2.1. The company description presenting your business Enter all relevant information about your company here. In this section, you can add a variety of details about your company. Click Edit or Create new company information to open the data input form. Company logo Company name Slogan Profile Link to company website Address General contact details Additional information PDF downloads (e.g. company brochures, case studies) Additional sites and offices We recommend to you to provide all information in both German and English, in order to reach the maximum number of trade show visitors.

6 2.1. The company description presenting your business Enter all relevant information about your company here. a.) Click the Upload new logo button to add your corporate logo to your profile. b.) Enter all the information about your company in the appropriate text fields. c.) You should save changes by clicking Temporary save before adding new entries. d.) To add PDF files, simply click Upload new PDF file and select the file required. e.) If you would like to add information on your company s other offices, click Add new branch. After saving the information by clicking Save, you will automatically be taken back to the overview page. Please note that some fields may have already been completed with information that you provided when registering as an exhibitor.

7 2.2. Products incl. product groups Along with the company description, your products make up the core component of your media entry. They maximize the visibility of your business, as the product group directory will direct visitors to suppliers of the products/services they are interested in Add products Click Create new product. You will be directed to page 1 of the data input form (see next slide). After entering a product, you must assign it to at least one and at most four product groups. If this step is not completed, the entry cannot be published Assign product groups Once a product has been created, it can be assigned to product groups. First click the Edit button beneath the product. The data input form for product group selection will now appear (see next slide).

8 Add products Along with the company description, your products make up the core component of your media entry. They maximize the visibility of your business, as the product group directory will direct visitors to suppliers of the products/services they are interested in. Create new product step 1/3 a.) First you may enter all the information relating to your product, such as a product name, a description, and a link to your website. Furthermore, you can select if this product is a trade show premiere by clicking the check box provided. b.) Click Save and continue to page 2 to move onto the next section. Create new product step 2/3 c.) Select a picture to be associated with your product by clicking Upload new picture. d.) To upload PDF files, simply click Upload new PDF file and select the PDF required. d.) Click the Save button to save the information. You will now be taken to the data input form for product group selection.

9 Assign product groups to your product Trade show visitors frequently use the product group search function on the trade show website to identify exhibitors and products that are relevant to them. Visitor services staff on site also use this tool, so it is not possible to publish your media entry unless it has been assigned to at least one product group. Assign product groups step 3/3 Select a product group from the list provided, and assign the product to it by clicking Add. Alternatively, you can enter the product group as a search term in the field provided. Each product can be assigned to a maximum of four product groups. After clicking Save, you will be taken back to the overview page.

10 2.3. Contacts in your company This is where you enter the details of contact people at your organization. This enables potential customers to get in touch with you even before the show begins as many attendees use the website to plan their visit. Click Create new contact person. A data input form will appear. Enter the relevant information name, position, etc. Save the information by clicking Save.

11 2.4. Topic and stand description Enter the topic of your stand here, along with a description of your stand. To enter information, click Edit next to Topic or Stand description. A data input form will then appear (see next slide). The Edit button will not be shown for co-exhibitors appearing at special or joint stands. Here, the topic may only be entered by the organizer. If the stand shown is your main stand, you can indicate this here by checking the box.

12 2.5. Fields of business activity industries and regions To whom are your products relevant? Make your company even easier to find on the trade show website by specifying your own industry and the industries you are targeting. You can choose up to five source industries (industries that you describe yourself as operating in), and ten target industries (industries that you want to sell to), simply by clicking on them in a list. You can also select target regions and countries. To modify the information, click Edit in the Fields of business activity section.

13 2.5. Fields of business activity industries and regions To whom are your products relevant to? Make your company even easier to find on the trade show website by specifying your own industry and the industries you are targeting. a.) To choose a source/target industry, select an industry by clicking on the list. Alternatively, you can search for a specific industry, by typing a search term in the field provided. b.)target regions can be selected by clicking directly on the region required. c.)if the target region is insufficiently precise, you can add individual target countries. Click on the country required, and then on Add. After clicking the Save button, your entries will be uploaded and you will be taken back to the overview page.

14 2.6. Corporate video Videos help generate interest in your business and your products - assign them to your media entry. To upload a corporate video please click on Add. In the next step Upload new video you may then choose the file you would like to present. Besides this, you can enter the following information: Language (German or English) Title Descriptive text (ger/en, max. 250 characters) After you uploaded and saved the video you will be redirected to your basic entry. Here you have to assign at least one keyword (tag) by clicking on Edit. Afterwards you can Save again and get back to your basic entry.

15 3. Additional products in ECMS In addition to the basic media entry covered by the marketing charge, there is a number of further marketing options available which you can order in OBS. After having ordered successfully, the additional products can be administered in ECMS. Next to the tab of your basic media entry (free of charge) you will find the possibility to order additional products, such as a printed logo in the directory of exhibitors and/or hall plan, a QR-Code in the directory of exhibitors and/or an invitation management as well as the internet press box. Those input fields will not be editable before ordering the particular product in OBS - if you ordered a fair-package you will already have some of theses services included. If you did not yet order the product (or if it is not included in your fair-package) you will see the hint Please order the service via OBS. By clicking on OBS you will be redirected to the service section where you can order the specific product, then. Continue to basic media entry By clicking on Continue and hand over to editors you will be redirected to the checkview of your publication entry.

16 4. Check and publish your entry in the online exhibitor index To complete your media entry, you must check and confirm the information you have entered. Your exhibitor entry will then be submitted to the Deutsche Messe Interactive editorial department. Click Check to see an overview of your entire entry. All the information you have provided is shown here, so you can review it. This is not a preview of how your entry will look to site users. It is intended solely to enable you to make a final check of the information you have provided.

17 4. Check and publish your entry in the online exhibitor index To complete your media entry, you must check and confirm the information you have entered. Your exhibitor entry will then be submitted to the Deutsche Messe Interactive editorial department. Click Download as PDF to save a.pdf-file of your information. If you are happy with the details entered, click Publish now. Your entry will then be submitted to the Deutsche Messe Interactive editorial department. The information will be promptly checked and published. Once your entry has been published, you will receive a confirmation from the Deutsche Messe Interactive Media-Service, with a direct link to your entry on the trade show website.
