1 REMOTE VALIDATION LETTER We are delighted to have you as a Remote Student Participant in an upcoming Management Concepts class. Please follow the enclosed testing and validation instructions in their entirety to ensure a successful learning experience. This box contains the following: Instructions for testing the computer you will use to attend your class USB headset Course materials If you have questions about the items included in this box, please contact customer service toll-free, at Listed below are the steps you need to complete as soon as possible to ensure your computer meets the minimum requirements and that you are able to connect to the classroom. Validate Your System Test Your Audio Connection Access Student Central Should you experience technical difficulties before or during your class, call student support, toll-free, at or contact us via at studentsupport@managementconcepts.com. Validate Your System Complete the following steps (using the computer you will be using to participate in the class) in order to validate your system. 1. Test your connection by going to the Adobe Connect website: st.htm NOTE: If you would like a quick overview of Adobe Connect please visit: 2. Log into the Adobe Connect Validation room as a Guest.

2 3. Type your first and last name and click the Enter Room button. 4. Tips for using Adobe Connect will be displayed. Click next to review or click X to close. Test Your Audio Connection The following steps require the use of the USB headset (included with your course materials). 1) Plug the headset into your computer. 2) From the Meeting menu, select Audio Setup Wizard. 3) Follow the steps in the Audio Setup Wizard, by clicking Next.

3 4) Click. If you do not hear the music, click Stop Sound, then click Play Sound again. If you still do not hear the music, make sure the speaker icon in the Adobe Connect room is green (unmuted) and the speakers on your computer are unmuted. 5) Click Next to proceed once you hear the music. 6) Select the Microphone (USB Headset) option. 7) Click Next to proceed. 8) Click Record and record yourself speaking to ensure your microphone works properly. If you receive a popup box asking you to accept or deny microphone access, click Allow.

4 Your microphone will not work if you click Deny. Click Stop once you are done recording and click the Play Recording button to hear your recording. 9) If you click Deny, you will need to cancel out of the Audio Setup Wizard and click the microphone icon at the top of the Adobe Connect room. The same popup box will appear. Click Allow and then go back to the Audio Setup Wizard. Please note: You will have to start from step 1. 10) Click Next to proceed. 11) SKIP THIS STEP. Do not tune the silence level. Click the Next button to complete the Audio Setup Wizard.

5 12) Once you have successfully completed the Audio Setup Wizard, click Finish. 13) Click the Microphone icon to connect your audio. You will know that you are connected when the microphone is green. NOTE: If Adobe Connect has trouble recognizing your USB headset, unplug it and plug it in again. Also, check your speaker settings and ensure that the USB headset is the default device for Playback and Recording by right clicking on the speaker icon, usually found at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Student Central 1) An electronic copy of your course materials will become available on our Student Central platform 7 days prior to the class start date. To access your training course materials, sign into the Student Central, Existing Users: If you have an existing Student Central account and have forgotten your password, use the reset my password feature. Your user name will be the address that was provided with your enrollment. If you have forgotten your user name, you can use your customer ID which can be found on your confirmation . New Student Central Users: If this is the first time you are accessing Student Central, you can refer to the Student Central Log-in Access which is sent approximately 7 days prior to the class start date from customercare@managementconcepts.com. Your user name will be the address that was provided with your enrollment. Your temporary password is

Should you experience technical difficulties before or during your class, call student support, toll-free, at or contact us via at 2) After signing in, you will see the list of classes for which you have registered under Your Transcript. 3) Click on the Launch button for the class you are taking and you will see a link for the student guide, the Adobe Connect session link, and any other information you might need for this course. 30 Minutes Before Class: Log Into Your Class and Set Up Your Audio Connection Follow the steps below 30 minutes prior to your scheduled class start time. 1) Log in to Student Central, Your username will be the address that was provided with your enrollment. If you have forgotten your user name, you can use your customer ID which can be found on your confirmation . If you previously logged into Student Central use the password that you created. If you have not previously access Student Central your temporary password is P4ssw0rd. If you have forgotten your password, use the reset my password feature. 2) After signing in, you will see the list of classes for which you have registered under Your Transcript. 3) Click on the Launch button for the class you are taking and you will see a link for the student guide, the Adobe Connect session link, and any other information you might need for this course. 4) Click Adobe Connect session link to connect the audio for the class. 5) Log in to Adobe Connect as a Guest. Enter your first and last name so that we can account for your attendance and click the Enter Room button. 6) Tips for using Adobe Connect will be displayed. Click next to review or click X to close. 7) Follow the steps in the Test Your Audio Connection section which is previously listed in this document.

7 8) When the microphone is green, you will know that your audio is connected and your headset will be ready for use. 9) Your setup is now complete and you will join the classroom once the class is ready to begin.
