Instruction Manual WIZARD ELITE IP Fasttel reserves the right to change the content of this manual without prior notice. Fasttel Belgium, Klipsenstraat 18A, 9160 Lokeren, Belgium. Tel. +32 (0) pg.1
Contents 1. Connection Diagram Find the Wizard in the Network Configuration Logging In Status Date and Time SIP Connection Settings Telephone Guide Quick Dial Button Settings Time Profile Access Control Audio and Video Settings Device settings Configuration Settings Licence Settings Account Settings Camera Settings Software Update Logging Out pg.2
1. Connection Diagram The best way to power the Wizard IP is over a PoE network connection. If the available network switch does not have a PoE, it is recommended to order the Fasttel PoE injector (FTPoE). The Wizard IP without access control keypad can only be powered by PoE Pin 1: GND Wiegand/external button Pin 2: Wiegand D1 Pin 3: Wiegand D0 Pin 4: external button Pin 5: normally closed contact relay 2 Pin 6: normally open contact relay 2 Pin 7: shared contact relay 2 Pin 8: normally closed contact relay 1 Pin 9: normally open contact relay 1 Pin 10: shared contact relay 1 Pin 11: GND Power Pin 12: Ext power +24V (only in keypad version) 2. Find the Wizard in the Network 1. Via DHCP server: During start-up, the IP address obtained is shown in the Wizard s display. Or search for the device using the Advanced IP scanner ( program (or similar software). The name is always formatted as Fasttel xxxx. Then navigate to the IP address in a browser and make the configuration. The Mac address always begins as 00:05:51:0B. 2. Without DHCP server: Connect the Wizard through a PoE injector to a laptop or desktop and search for the device using the Advanced IP Scanner program (or similar software). The name is always formatted as Fasttel xxxx. Then navigate to the IP address in a browser and make the configuration. pg.3
3. Configuration All the settings are configured on 1 web page. 3.1 Logging In Navigate to the address of the Wizard and enter the default Username and Password. Both are admin. Change the language if desired. You will see the configuration menu on the left. 3.2 Status An overview of the default values of what you will have to configure is given here. Nothing can be edited in this page itself. A preview of the camera is also shown here. 3.3 Date and Time Within Europe, you generally do not need to change anything here. The date and time can be entered manually here. However, it is better to use the default NTP server. 3.4 SIP Connection Settings Screen name: enter a logical name for the device. The device s location is useful when you have multiple door intercoms in 1 project. The telephone number is the number of the door intercom on the external SIP server. Authentication ID and Password must match those given in the SIP server. Server address and server port: enter the data for the external SIP server with which the door intercom is to be integrated. Detect DTMF: for maximum compatibility, leave all these check-marked. Maximum conversation duration: enter the maximum time in seconds that a conversation may/can last. Stop DTMF conversation: this code forces the conversation to end. Echo suppression options: it is best to leave this unchanged. Click apply to confirm the changes. pg.4
3.5 Telephone Guide The following is created here: 1. The recipients who must be able to be called. 2. And the people who must gain access with the optional access control keypad and/or badge reader. Screen name: this name is shown in the display if this recipient is assigned to a button. Telephone number: this is the number that the door intercom must call to be able to reach this recipient. Lock 1 code: this code can be used to open relay 1 of the door intercom using the optional access control keypad. Lock 2 code: this code can be used to open relay 2 of the door intercom using the optional access control keypad. Time profile: you can assign a time profile to a recipient. If a call is placed to this recipient outside the time profile, the door intercom will not launch a call or it will call the next recipient who does fall within the time profile. For instance, you can program 3 shift teams under 1 button, each with a different time profile of 8 work hours. The correct shift team will then always be called at the correct time. See the following two points: 3.6 Button Settings and 3.7 Time Profile. Call and Come In: if 1 of the 2 relays is chosen here, this relay will be activated directly when calling this recipient. pg.5
Show door open bitmap: when the Call and Come In function is activated, you can opt to have the open door bitmap displayed here when the relay is activated automatically. Enable Call and Come in time limit and Shorten ring time: if the square is ticked and a value is entered here, the call during Call and Come In will only ring the telephone with that value. This function is useful for, e.g. dentists. When calling, the door is concretely opened directly and the telephone rings, e.g. 1 or 2 times as notification that someone is entering. The Call and Come In function can also be used to provide contact when calling, e.g. a home automation system. If this is the case, disable the open door bitmap. Recipients can therefore be created doubly: first without Call and Come In and then with Call and Come In activated. You can link a different time profile to set automatic opening of the door by times. The double recipient is then programmed under the same button and may or may not be called depending on the time of day. The Call and Come In function then comes with the recipient. RFID Number: if the optional badge reader was activated, you can read out the UID here by holding the card over the Fasttel logo on the door intercom. Stop forwarding with DTMF: When a call goes to voic , the Wizard will see this as an answer and therefore not call the subsequent recipients. This can be resolved by requiring the recipient to send back a code after they have answered the call. When, e.g. * is entered in this field, then the person who answered the call must enter * within a pre-set time (see point 3.6 Button Settings DTMF cancellation time). The conversation then remains open. If * was not entered, then the call is interrupted and the next number from the memory is dialled. With the Call button, you simulate the call to the recipient if a number was filled in for Telephone number. Search: search for a recipient. Select the Edit button to edit an existing contact 3.6 Quick Dial Button Settings pg.6
This is used to determine which of the recipients you just created in the Telephone Guide must be called when a button is pressed. This page is licence-related: only 1 button is visible here because a door intercom with 1 button was purchased. Forward time: indicates the time when a subsequent recipient is called after the previous one does not answer the call. Cancel DTMF time: see also previous point 3.5 Telephone Guide stop forwarding with DTMF. This field determines the time duration within which the person called has to enter the code to confirm the call. User name: choose the recipient who is to be called first here. This must be created under Telephone Guide first. A second and third number are also possible. When a recipient does not answer the call, the next recipient is selected. When a call is launched outside the time profile that is linked to a recipient, the next recipient that does fall within the time profile is chosen automatically. The number of buttons that appears depends on the licence that was purchased. 3.7 Time Profile pg.7
A time profile can be created here that can be linked to a recipient under Telephone Guide. Recipients are only called when the call falls within the time profile. If no time profile is linked to a recipient, the call will always be launched. Two time profiles have already been pre-programmed: 4/5 and full time. 3.8 Access Control The two internal relays of the Wizard IP are configured here. They can be disabled and the time duration in milliseconds can be adjusted. This means that a duty cycle of 2000 equals a 2-second pulse. DTMF: This is the code that must be entered to open the relay with the telephone. pg.8
3.9 Audio and Video Settings If the Wizard IP is equipped with a camera, it can be accessed by going to where IPADDRESS is its IP address in the network. If you want a snapshot, the link is You can protect this link against unauthorised access by entering a user and password. Attention: this password function may not be used when using the Fasttel FT25CC and certain other video phones. You can also edit the ratios of the camera here. The default values for the speaker and microphone are generally correct at 50%. If you do want to make adjustments upward, it is recommended to do this in small steps to avoid oscillation. You can also set the volume of the spoken messages for calling, ending call, open door and incorrect code. You can make changes as required under audio codecs and video codecs. pg.9
3.10 Device settings LCD Mode: if you choose text, the names will appear that you created in the Telephone List and have linked to a button. You can modify the colour of this text and the overall background colour of the display. If you have chosen an image, this is of course not possible and this setting is not available. The strength of the LEDs is determined by the percentage from 0 to 255. If you want the names in red (LCD foreground colour), set red to 255 and the others to 0. To reduce the brightness of the red, use 150 instead of 255, for instance, and leave the rest at : white : red : green pg.10
: pink : purple : orange : blue : yellow You can vary the values further to obtain different intensities. LCD background lighting: adjusts the intensity of the display. Is determined by the percentage from 0 to 255. You can also show your own image in the Display. Choose LCD Image for this and search for your own.png image. The device will display this image in the correct format automatically. Use background lighting buttons to set the colour of the buttons and the optional access control keypad. If you want the LEDs in red, set red to 255 and the others to 0. To reduce the brightness of the red, use 150 instead of 255, for instance, and leave the rest at 0. Camera lighting: this value determines the strength of the LEDs that illuminate the visitor. Audible feedback: when calling, opening the door, ending the conversation, and entering an incorrect code, a spoken message can be played together with the animation each time. Three languages are pre-programmed, but you can also personalise any of these texts. pg.11
3.11 Configuration Settings The device comes in DHCP mode upon delivery. With a program such as Advanced IP Scanner ( you can scan the network and if a DHCP server is active, you will find the device with the name Fasttel000551XXX, and you will see the IP address obtained (see point 2. Find the Wizard in the Network) You can also give the device a static IP address. Keypad mode: Keypad as access control: with this option, enter code# on the keypad to activate the relay. Call a number with *number#. Keypad as telephone: with this option, enter *code# on the keypad to activate the relay. Call a number with number#. NFC mode: the optional keyboard and badge reader can both be used in two ways: pg.12
1. Internal control: you operate the two standard relays that are available in the Wizard. Enter the codes above for each user under Telephone Guide. The badge reader will always activate contact Wiegand output: both then output 26-bit Wiegand to an external controller. For this, you must connect pins 1, 2, and 3 to the green connector and connect to this external controller. Under download configuration, you can make a backup of the Wizard. Under upload, you can select and upload a backup. Add language: foreign languages can be added here. Contact Fasttel for this. Log file: this is primarily intended for any error diagnosis by the manufacturer. Factory reset: device is restored to factory settings Or you can restart the device. pg.13
3.12 Licence Settings This shows the MAC address of the device as well as all the options that are activated in the device. You only need a new licence key when you want to add options after purchase such as the badge reader or the 999 destinations keyboard. With this setting, the keyboard does not behave as a hands-free telephone, but as a shortened number selector. If you enter 001, then recipient 001 will be called. This can, e.g. be an external mobile number. Enter this under the Telephone Guide first Account Settings pg.14
You can change the default user admin and default password admin here Camera Settings This is only used when the ambient lighting is strongly different than normal. After experimenting, you can use the default button to return to the default values Software Update You can find the latest firmware on our website under Downloads. Use the first option for this Logging Out You are logged out immediately pg.15
