2 General Troubleshooting tips for the DMZ FAME web portal Cannot launch the portal in my browser and connect When I launch the portal, I am presented with a security certificate prompt, when I click OK, nothing happens I am not able to access the FAME portal because it is a secure HTTPS site which my browser is not supporting I am unsure what type of user name I should input when I register Cannot access Input Files in the portal and save them to my machine I cannot open an Input File from my browser because I am using Chrome rather than Internet Explorer After downloading and input file, saving to my machine and opening it in Excel, I cannot open any other files in Excel I am not able to upload a file successfully and/or I receive no confirmation When I click on the Browse button in the portal, nothing happens Do not receive an indicating file is uploaded successfully Portal indicates that file is loaded successfully but do not receive data loading success or failure 2

3 Troubleshooting tips when data Loading Failed is received There could be several reasons why a completed input file did not process correctly. Review each of the possible causes in this section to see if they explain why data failed to load is generated if input template is blank or if mandatory cells are left blank is generated if input template is not the same as the configuration file settings at the central bank Centrale Bank van Aruba (CBA) issued a new version of the template with corresponding configuration but you uploaded the old version of the template Inserted rows or columns into the template so does not match configuration or changed the name of a sheet in the template Change the default date format indicated in the template File is so big or the processing server is so backed up that a time-out occurred in the processing 3

4 I cannot launch the portal in my browser 4

5 When I launch the portal, I am presented with a certificate prompt, when I click OK, nothing happens URL : If prompted to download security certificate, cancel out of that dialog in order to launch the FamePortal. This pop-up is dictated by the browser settings. 5

6 I am not able to access the FAME portal because it is a secure HTTPS site URL : The external portal is accessed via secure HTTP address. In some cases the security settings of your browser may need to be changed in order to access sites via HTTPS Please consult the following web site if you have issues connecting to HTTPS sites Microsoft Site to Debug HTTPS log-in 6

7 I am unsure what type of user name I should input when I register User needs to fill out the details given below during registration We recommend users to use firstname.lastname as a user name. CBA will provide your institutional password 7

8 Cannot access Input Files in the portal and save them to my machine 8

9 I cannot open an input file from my browser because I am using Chrome rather than Internet explorer Microsoft Internet Explorer ensures best interaction between the delivery of input files and upload of completed files to and from Microsoft Excel. Other browsers such as Chrome support interaction between the browser and Excel but you should be aware of methods for opening and saving files from a Chrome browser When you click on the Input Template, the template will be sent to the taskbar of chrome Save the file or open the file in folder 9

10 What are the steps to open an input file in Chrome? 1. First select the input file at the bottom of the task bar and choose to open file in folder 2. Then need to browse for that file 3. Right mouse click on that file and choose to open it with Excel Click yes to open the file in Excel 10

11 Cannot open files in Excel after attempting to download input files from the external banking portal or after uploading files When opening Excel forms via external remote web sites, Excel may not close until the web site is closed. This is very rare.. If this condition occurs then a hung Excel process will occur on the machine. The next time a workbook is opened in the Excel session, an error may occur This could mean there is a hung Excel process on the machine Control alt delete and Start Windows Task manager and click on view Processes Kill the hung Excel process on the machine and then re-launch Excel 11

12 I am not able to upload a file successfully to the portal or receive an 12

13 I did not receive an indicating that the file was uploaded successfully Your IT administrator will need to edit the filters for your server and allow s from CBAaruba.org Those s are: You can contact CBA for support and they can run diagnostics to determine if s are being sent from their server but not received on your end 13

14 I did not receive an indicating that the file was uploaded successfully If you received an indicating the file was uploaded successfully but did not receive an indicating the data was loaded successfully, PLEASE BE PATIENT Depending on the size of the completed input template that you uploaded, processing that file on the CBA side could take some time Depending on the number of files being processed on the CBA server, processing your file could take some time In rare instances the que at CBA will be so long and/or your file is so large that a timeout in processing will occur. You will need to resubmit the form again in this instance. 14

15 Cannot browse for my file to upload (nothing happens when I click button) Are you running a validated version of Microsoft Office on your Windows machine? In order to browse for a completed input file to upload into the system, Internet Explorer requires that you have a registered version of Microsoft Office running on your Windows machine. If Office is not officially registered, Microsoft will block the ability to browse for external files to uploaded into web sites like the DMZ FAME portal 15

16 Received an that Data Loading Failed for input 16

17 After receiving a confirmation that file is uploaded successfully, you will receive a 2 nd indicating loading failed for input The current will list the common reasons for a failed loading process Submitting a blank template will cause a failure Submitting an older filled in template that does not conform to the CBA configuration will fail Inserting rows or columns into the input template and submitting that adjusted template will fail Changing the sheet names within an input template will fail Using a different date format (e.g. dd-mm-yy) then suggested in the template will fail 1 st ) File 'Cash Shipment Jan CBA Ltd.xlsx' is uploaded successfully for institution Centrale Bank van Aruba Limited, Aruba Branch and form Cash Shipment at 2/22/ :35:03 AM by user 2 nd ) CBAData Loading Failed for input CBAARUBA_CASH_31Jan2018_CBA_22Feb xlsx, loading status is, validation status is VALIDATION_PASSED 17

18 Check if you submitted a blank upload template or left mandatory input cells blank If you submit a template that is blank then the processing engine will not be able to submit the data and an error message will be generated. The loading will fail. Similarly if you leave cells in the template blank that are required inputs, a failure will occur. If there are no values or transactions for that cell, input a ZERO instead of leaving blank If you enter non-numeric values in certain input cells such as strings or alpha-numeric values then the data processing will fail A failed data load message will often have more to do with the filling out of the form, so best to fill in 0 instead of leaving these open fields, and have these submitted 18

19 Ensure that you have entered the data on the latest input sheet published and supported by the CBA The DMZ FAME portal serves as the central repository for input forms If forms are added to your institution or they are changed by the CBA, you can find those latest versions via the portal If the CBA changed the name of one of the sheets in an input template but you are still uploading the old template, the configuration will be off and a failure will occur CBA will notify users of any changes in Input Templates 19

20 If you change the structure of the template, Data loading failed for input template will be generated While you can save the templates provided by the CBA in your own file system, it is important that you do not alter the structure of the file While you are asked to input data into the cells of the template, do not insert rows or columns into the template Do not rename the sheets within the template as this too will cause a disconnect between the template and the configuration Column headers in a sheet in the template should remain the same name as well Do not use a different data format then what is indicated in the template 20
