1 CREATING EVENTS & EVENT TICKETS In order to make changes to a society s account you must first be a group admin. If you wish to take payments through your society page, you will need to provide your financial information. More information can be found here 1. LOG IN Click on the Sign in link at the top right of the screen (beneath the search bar). You will now see this page. Enter your and password and click on the orange Sign In button. 2. ACCESSING YOUR DASHBOARD You will now see a menu at the top right of your screen. If you hover this, a drop down menu will appear. Click on Your Dashboard.
2 3. THE DASHBOARD You should now see your society s dashboard. From here you can manage all aspects of your society s section on the CUSU site. To create an event, click on the plus icon within the section titled Manage Events. 4. CREATING AN EVENT You should now see this screen. It is very important that you fill this form in correctly. Guide to the form: 1. Event Name 2. Event Code this should be your shortened society name + event name (e.g. CUSUTestEvent) 3. Nominal Code this should be the full name of your society without spaces, e.g. CambridgeUniversityStudentsUnion 4. Cost Centre Code Leave this blank 5. Event Type Select from the options in the drop down menu 6. Start/End Date Timing add a start and end date 2
3 7. Description use this section to sell your event. Don t forget you can use the formatting tools and even add images. 8. Add Logo add your logo to associate your society with the event 9. Venue where is the event being held? 10. Contact Details 11. Website URL insert a link if required 12. Event Capacity maximum number of tickets you are selling 13. Optional Settings check/uncheck as appropriate 14. Event Tags what search terms do you want associated with your event? 15. Terms & Conditions Use this section if you would like to add specific terms to your event When you have finished make sure you click the Save button! Once this form has been successfully completed you will be taken to the Event Summary page where you will see this confirmation. Now it s time to create the tickets for your event. 3
4 5. CREATING TICKETS FOR YOUR EVENT Still on the Event Summary page Click on the Event Ticket Types link On this next screen click on the Add Event Ticket Type button Guide to the form: 1. Ticket Name e.g. Student, Guest etc. 2. Nominal Code this should be the full name of your society without spaces, e.g. CambridgeUniversityStudentsUnion 3. Cost Centre Code Leave this blank 4.Bulk Tickets & Guest Pass untick 5. Ticket Price a transaction fee will be automatically generated 6. VAT Exempt DO NOT tick this box unless you are certain that your tickets are VAT exempt 7. Start & End Date how long do you want tickets to be available for sale? 8. Ticket Capacity how many of this ticket type do have for sale? 9. Maximum number of tickets a user can purchase 4
5 10. Ticket Description this gives you the opportunity to explain what the user gets when they buy this type of ticket 11. User Groups Leave this blank To save this ticket type or make tickets live click on the Save Event Ticket Type button Confirm that the settings you have entered are correct, or cancel to go back and amend Once confirmed you will now see an overview of the ticket type you have just set up 5

CONNECTING YOUR EVENT TO SOCIAL MEDIA To synch your event with a Facebook/Twitter event click on the Social Media tab Select which platform you want to synch the event with and click on the radio button After selecting the radio button, a button will appear underneath to allow you to login to the platform you have chosen. 6
