4 Scope of Work JOB # A/B Switch for Shared OOB and Pots Line Process For Colorado/Wyoming District PLEASE DISPATCH TECH TO BE ON SITE at 11:30am mst. on Tuesday TO EXTEND A T1 CIRCUIT & POTS LINE, INSTALL A NEW MODEM, ROUTER AND AB PHONE SWITCH. POTS LINE MUST BE A NEW RUN AND EXTENED FROM THE 66 DEMARC BLOCK TO THE I/O PORT ON THE SWITCH BOX AND THEN EXTEND A JUMPER FROM PORT A ON THE SWITCH BOX TO THE FAX MACHINE AND THEN FROM PORT B ON THE SWITCH BOX OVER TO THE MODEM. TECH WILL NEED TO HAVE ALL MATERIALS ON HAND INCLUDING DIGITAL CAMERA - CABLE JACKS - TONER BUTT SET - CRIMPER SCREW DRIVER POWER STRIP 19 X 20 WALL MOUNT SHELF AND A 2 X 2 BACK BOARD LADDER ECT - MOD ENDS MUST BE RJ11 MOD ENDS FOR SWITCH BOX ONCE THE T1 & POTS LINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THE EQUIPMENT LOCATION WE WILL BE TESTING THE EQUIPMENT WITH AT&T AND THEN PERFORMING A CUT OVER AT 2:00PM MST. PORT A ON THE SWITCH BOX FRONT/BACK MUST BE LABLED NORMAL PORT B ON THE SWITCH BOX FRONT/BACK MUST BE LABLED AT&T MAINT ANALOG NUMBER MUST BE LABLED ON THE TOP OF THE SWITCH BOX - LEFT FRONT CORNER. ***PLEASE LOOK FOR A SEPARTE THAT HAS DOCUMENTATION & PICTURES*** Once circuit and extension are tested good we will swing the Ethernet cable from the 1600 OR 1700 CISCO router to the 2800 CISCO router-port FE OR GE 0/0. When we confirm we have link lights proceed in this order 1-Power down old equipment or 1700 and Skystar Advantage V-SAT IDU unit 2-Have P.O.C. do a ZIP Code Look Up or Credit Card Transaction on ALL Point of Sales Devices 3-Have P.O.C. check the Internet by going to the USPS Blue Page 4-Have P.O.C. send an to USPSLT@EMS.ATT.COM and CONCERTTECH.COM Contractor must call PF Kevin Chinn at () upon arrival to the site, upon encountering any issues, for circuit testing, and prior to departure from site. This is a Concert Technologies requirement for all jobs performed. Failure to follow this guideline may result in billing discrepancies. 4
5 Time and Materials Guidelines: Report all time and materials used on the job to the Project Facilitator. At the close of the job, an electronic Time and Material Confirmation will be ed to you. Please respond to the confirmation by selecting Accept or Dispute. As an additional action, you may fax the attached Time and Material sheet to Concert within 24 hours of job completion. Confirmation of Time and Materials is not the same as your Invoice. Invoicing Guidelines: Please reference the Concert Job # on all invoicing material. 11 The connection can be one of the following methods, but not limited to these methods only. 1. Connection to the telephone system s termination block, 66 block device. 2. Connection to an existing telephone instrument 3. Connection to an existing fax machine or other electronic device connected to the POTS system Once the connection method has been determined and implemented, the other end of the OOB cable will be terminated in one of the following two manners. 1. If the installed equipment is reachable by an average height person from the floor without using any ladder, step stool, etc. a. The OOB cable should terminate at the Paradyne access unit and attached to the equipment rack. b. If equipment rack is not available then attach at some nearby point in such a way that the end of the cable will easily reach the correct port on the Paradyne access unit. A small stress relief loop is acceptable. c. The cable will be secured so that it will not be damaged by snagging on persons passing near or by persons walking in the vicinity. d. The cable should be clearly marked with AT&T Network Maintenance and the OOB telephone number. 2. If the installed equipment is mounted above an average person s height above the floor. a. The OOB cable should terminate in an RJ11 termination junction block (~2 inch square, wall mounted box) at a point approximately four to five feet above floor. b. Clearly marked as the AT&T Network Maintenance cable with the telephone number of the OOB circuit being used. c. Another cable should be installed that will terminate in the junction box and the MDM port on the Paradyne. d. The Paradyne end should be left permanently connected while the end to be connected to the junction box should be the place where the customer will be able to make the connection. *** After OOB POTS line is disconnected, Facilitator is to work with the technician and validate that calls can be made to and from the site and that the site is able to send and receive faxes. An is to be sent to ATTUSPS@att.com stating that the OOB POTS line has been tested and validated.***** Important Note: The OOB line must be disconnected when not in use during the CPE install process or the GCSC troubleshooting process
12 This document will be left on site for the Post Master POWER COM PORT 1 ENET DSX NET MDM DBM Insert AT&T Network Maintenance Telephone Cable Here The AT&T Network Maintenance Technician will explain the following to the site contact: Locate the Telephone Cable labeled: AT&T Network Maintenance PLUG telephone cable INTO the MDM port on the Paradyne Access Unit (grey box about the size of a VCR) located in the picture above. 2. This telephone line may be shared with other devices in you facility. MAKE sure that the equipment in the Postal Facility 3. (telephone on someone s desk, fax machine, etc.)is not used while the AT&T Technician is working on your network problem. 4. Tell the AT&T Technician the telephone number.
13 5. Notify the AT&T Technician that the connection is complete, and then stand by for further directions from the technician. 6. When trouble shooting is completed, remove the telephone line from the MDM port on the Paradyne Access Unit.
