If so, only a T1 WIC Card will be shipped. Project Overview Partnering with IBM, CrossCom will assist the Ascena Retail Group with network equipment upgrades for its Maurices brand stores. Work will include the upgrade of an existing Cisco 1921 router and installation of a 3/4G cellular back up device. Work may also include the installation of a CAT5E cables for an optional T1 service extension. Work will begin prior to store opening, but will continue through the opening of the business day. Technicians are expected to be aware of customer and associate needs at all times. All sales floor related tasks should be completed prior to the opening hour. Once open for business, no ladders, materials or cabling may be left on the sales floor. NEW AS OF 08/19/16 - Each work order will have a posted call Bridge Number. Tech will use this bridge number after the initial check in with CrossCom for all updates. CrossCom will no longer transfer each call during the installation process. It is critical that all calls into this Bridge number be logged by the tech. Call in time, hold time, Ascena representative, call end time, and resolution. Technicians will be required to contact CrossCom: On Arrival Log In. Prior to Departure Log Out. OOS Requests. Any out of scope not listed below as optional labor must be pre approved by CrossCom. This includes BRIDGE HOLD TIMES of greater than 5 minutes. If reporting this hold time, tech must call from a separate line to avoid loss of place on the Ascena Bridge. OPTIONAL LABOR No optional labor lines will be required as of 09/19/16. T1 extensions are completed on Visit 1.5, prior to arrival on this work order. Any changes to contracted labor must be approved by CrossCom prior to work being started. Prior To Arrival Tech shall print and read this document. Any questions should be addressed with the CrossCom PM/PC assigned the work order prior to the trip date. The final page is an inventory form that must be filled out and submitted as a deliverable. Page 3
4 Tech shall carry to site all tooling, ladders, cabling equipment, and hardware listed above. Failure to comply may result in an incomplete project. All work shall be completed in 1 day. Installation Tasks Tech must follow the task order to avoid network outages. 1. Arrive promptly at the time posted on the work order. Carry all tools and 1 ladder to the door tech may not have repeated access to mall entrances, or be required to walk minutes to the parking lot. Technicians are expected to be waiting at the store for the opening manager with tools in hand. a. Log in with the CrossCom IVR (800) i. CrossCom will transfer you to the Ascena Help Desk and CrossCom will drop off the call. b. Introduce yourself to the Manager On Duty. c. Produce work order documents and CrossCom Badge. d. Locate the materials shipped to site. The box will ship with a large pink label reading HOLD FOR T1 TECHNICIAN DO NOT OPEN. Inventory against the list on Page 3 and report any damaged or missing items to Ascena immediately. NOTE: Do not remove power down, or disconnect any network equipment in Step 2 until the store has opened registers for the day. Network equipment will be changed out only after the store has opened all registers for business. Ask the MOD to open all registers for the business day before proceeding. 2. Upgrade the Existing Cisco 1921 Router. Follow instructions below for installing a new T1 WIC Card in the existing 1921 router. NOTE: Do Not Unplug the power while moving/installing WIC Slot Cards to keep the chassis grounded. Follow the 5 steps below to update the hardware on the 1921 router. NOTE: During this migration, do NOT power down or remove the connections on the DSL/Broadband modem. This connection needs to remain active for remote access until a new connection has been established. Page 4
5 Step 1 Power Down the 1921 Router Step 2 Remove the existing card from Slot WIC0 Step 3 Insert existing card into Slot WIC1 Step 4 Insert the New T1 WIC Card into Slot WIC0 Step 5 *If Required, move the power cord to the Rack Mount PDU or Surge Protector if present. Power the 1921 Router back on. 3. Verify Router to Switch Connection. a. Locate the patch cord in port G1 on the Cisco 2960 switch. Verify this patch cord is connected to 1921 Port GE 0/1. Page 5
6 b. Verify that the existing 2960 switch is plugged into an existing power strip or surge protector if possible. If not, the power cable must be moved ONLY after the registers are open by the MOD. 4. T1 Circuit Verify, Patch & (Optional) Extend Circuit. a. Locate the T1 extension or smart jack. Extensions were completed on Visit 1 week prior to installation. b. Patch the 7 blue patch cord into the new Router s T1 WIC Card. Before proceeding to STEP 4c, Call CrossCom for a transfer to Ascena - Milestone Report for T1 to Router Status. c. WITH PERMISSION FROM ASCENA - De-install the old DSL/Broadband Modem. Record the serial number on the D&A form & Ascena Inventory Form. Modem shall be packed and left with the store manager for return to the DSL/Broadband Provider. 5. Install the Cradlepoint Wireless Backup device. a. Unpack the Cradlepoint device. Attach the (2) high gain bunny ear antennas on the AUX and MAIN SMA connection ports (no connection to GPS). b. Connect PORT LAN1 on the Cradlepoint device to the 1921 Router port GE 0/0 using the supplied BLACK CAT5e patch cord. c. Locate the console cable supplied with the Cradlepoint device. Connect the CONSOLE port on the device to the CONSOLE port on the 1921 router. d. Plug the supplied power adapter into the Eaton 350 UPS Back Up. e. Install the device as shown below, listed in order of preference. Note that the device distance to the switch/router cannot exceed the length of supplied patch and console cables. i. 1 st Preference - Mount to the wall/backboard above the network equipment. ii. 2 nd Preference - Place on top of the router/switch. iii. 3 rd Preference - Place on a flat surface near the router/switch. The Cradlepoint device will 5 minutes to boot back up. The signal strength should still be 4G (blue status light) with 2 of 4 bars or better. If the unit is EITHER in 3G (green status light) or has only 1 bar of signal, move to the 2 nd or 3 rd option above. Once the Cradlepoint is mounted in a location passing testing requirements, move to STEP Dress Cabling. Use supplied Velcro tie wraps to secure cable slack, and ensure neat patch cord dressing. Clean up all packaging surplus, cabling materials and technician tools/ladders. Page 6
7 NOTE: CrossCom tech will not remove any equipment for return to CCN on this project. 7. Collect Deliverables. Failure to supply clear deliverables that follow the detailed criteria will result in a warranty return trip to collect. It is the sole responsibility of the installation technician to ensure workmanship and quality deliverables. If more than 1 photo is required to properly display the needed information, upload multiple photos. 8. Log Out with CrossCom (800) Be prepared to report all bridge times, Ascena representative names and issue resolutions. As of 08/19/16 CrossCom will no longer join Bridge calls. All recorded OOS by technicians will be reviewed with Ascena prior to approval. NOTE: All photos must have the store identifier sheet included clearly in the photo. Fold the attached form in half, and fill in the 4 digit store number for the appropriate brand. This sheet must appear in each photo or they will be rejected by CrossCom and Ascena. See sample below. Work Order deliverables list shows a #### prefix for internal purposes. a. D&A Form Complete with equipment serial numbers, return tracking number, time in/time out, and manager s signature b. T1 Demarcation-Side Photo photo showing the tagged (and extended) delivery point of the T1 circuit and the identifying labeling. Photo should be close enough to see the label id of the circuit in the future, but far enough for a frame of reference at the point of demarcation. c. T1 MDF Side-Photo photo showing the extension of the T1 to the suite backboard and punch down with proper circuit labeling on the cable and surface mount box. Photo should be close enough to see the label id the circuit in the future, but far enough for a frame of reference at the backboard for later identification. d. T1 Router Photo photo needs to show the router with T1 card in WIC0, analog card in WIC1, and connected to WIC0 with a blue patch cord. e. T1 Connection Photo photo showing the wiring from the surface mount box to the router to insure it is neat, unobtrusive, and secured. f. Cradlepoint Photo Cradlepoint location and bars that are active. g. Ascena Inventory Document - Photo of the completed inventory of decommissioned hardware and cables. Page 7
