Firefox 51 will require additional configuration steps as it begins to drop support for NPAPI plugins. - Following the link below to make changes to your Firefox browser. - Chrome Version 42 requires an additional configuration step to continue to use Java Applets in APRAS. 1. In your URL bar, enter: chrome://flags/#enable-npapi 2. Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option. 3. 2 Internet Explorer and Java Settings As can happen when multiple vendors provide software applications, there are compatibility issues between Microsoft s Internet Explorer and Oracle s Java. A problem exists on systems that have a Java version that is version 7 or greater and Internet Explorer versions other than IE11. Options include: - IE11 users should not be in compatibility mode. For help changing the setting, see below. - Upgrade your IE browser to IE11 no need to change Java version - Reinstall your Java to Java 6.35 no need to change your IE browser version. - Use Chrome or FireFox browsers. Internet Explorer 11 Settings APRAS will run best on IE 11 with the following settings, please contact your company IT support for further assistance. IE Settings are located by clicking on the Tools menu. Setting Compatibility Mode Status Access Turned off Tools > Compatibility View Settings >Look for website state.pa.us > click remove, The website will be removed from compatibility View. Restart browser for changes to take effect. Or uncheck Use Microsoft compatibility lists if no other websites are listed.

Cookies Enabled Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced > Check "Override Automatic Cookie Handling (accept 1st party; Prompt 3rd party)" and check the option to always accept session cookies.

Your system administrator may manage other settings. Please contact your system administrator first to determine if other restrictions may be in place and blocking access to APRAS. 5 Known Incompatibility with IE11 and 32-bit Java Versions Microsoft s Internet Explorer 11 requires that the IE11 and Java versions run on the same size processor. This applies to web applications, such as APRAS with Java Applets that require the same version of Java and Browser to run. If not, users may experience an issue with APRAS web. For example: - IE 11(64 Bit) needs Java 64 bit - IE 11(32 Bit) needs Java 32 bit Both the Java 32 bit and 64 bit can installed on your system. Previous versions of Internet Explorer could have both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, but moving to IE 11, that option no longer exists. Check your IE and Java versions. Check if your version of IE 11 is using 32 or 64 bit Tools > Internet Options >Advanced - Scroll to Security category Find the "Enable Enhanced Protection Mode." Entry.
