2 Security and System Updates Decided to go back to paper and eliminate all the online software!!! 3 Security and System Updates Ways to access the UDS-PROi website: 1. Old-fashioned way: remember facility code, username, and password 2. LDAP: synchronizes the username and password with your facility s Windows account The only unique thing you still have to know is the facility code Whenever you change your Windows password, your UDS-PROi software password will also change Increased account security 4 2

3 Security and System Updates Ways to access the UDS-PROi website: 3. Single Sign On (SSO): Nothing to remember!!!! Your IT will place a special shortcut on your computers Double-click the shortcut to log in to the UDS-PROi software Currently preferred method by security teams 5 Security and System Updates: HL7 Data Transfers HL7 data transfers from and to the UDS-PROi software are more popular than ever Able to transfer any information from and to the UDS-PROi software Lot of facilities choose to transfer the entire IRF-PAI as a PDF file from the UDS-PROi software to their EMR along with other data elements (CMG, CMS accepted date, etc.) 6 3

4 Security and System Updates: UDSMR s New Partnerships Cerner: Developing standard HL7 interface (out-of-thebox interface) between the UDS-PROi software and Cerner Cuts down on implementation time and costs Standardizes the interface among all joint facilities Potential future projects Epic: Currently finalizing a partnership that will eliminate misinformation Hoping to work on a joint HL7 out-of-the-box interface sometime in the future 7 Security and System Updates: UDSMR s New State-of-the-Art Server Room Purchased all new servers and hardware to support the UDS-PROi software and other UDSMR product lines New hardware will be located in a new state-of-the-art server room Projected go-live date: Q Will require new VPN for HL7 customers Already working with your IT departments Current data center will be rebuilt and designated a disaster recovery site Current DR site at UDSMR offices will be eliminated 8 4

5 Security and System Updates: Annual SOC 2 Audit UDSMR has been performing SOC 2 audits for few years now Involves reviewing UDSMR s general policies and IT policies PEN (system penetration testing) also performed as part of SOC 2 Some of your IT departments are starting to require it 9 Long-Awaited Software Changes 10 5

6 Patient ID Changes We are expanding the Patient ID field (field 5B on the Identification Tab) Current limit is 10 characters New limit will be 20 characters This will allow interfacing of longer numbers such as Medical Record Number and Account Number 11 Patient ID Changes The expansion will mean some changes in the layout for other areas of our software, such as: The patient dashboard will show an expanded patient ID field to accommodate more characters Reports will have their layouts adjusted to show the full patient ID 12 6

9 Informatics Update Streamlined, easier-to-read layout on the Informatics tab (stacked rather than side by side) Addition of quality indicator sections with case-based, facility, regional, and national comparisons Functional abilities Influenza Pressure ulcers Falls 17 IRF-PAI Version 1.5 Changes (Effective 10/1/2017) Currently, there are no new IRF-PAI items planned by CMS for version 1.5 (effective 10/01/2017) Removal of field 27, Swallowing Status, due to its status as a voluntary item that is no longer needed (duplicate QI item) 18 9

10 IRF-PAI Version 1.5 Changes (Effective 10/1/2017) Adding and removing multiple ICD-10 codes in the software These changes will result in compliance changes The values recorded for items 25A, Height, and 26A, Weight, on the IRF-PAI will be used for compliance in calculating a BMI greater than 50 Used to determine whether lower-extremity single-joint replacement cases presumptively count toward an IRF s compliance percentage Update to CMG grouper 19 Medicare Beneficiary Number Changes (Effective 4/1/2018) Medicare beneficiary number changes will be effective April 1, 2018 Medicare ID cards replacing current ID number with a new Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) New format, but both the current and new formats allowed for one year starting April 1, 2018 Key SSA HICN MBI Example A1 1EG4-TE5-MK
