3 Precautions for Use Please read the VC701SI User Guide before using this software. Do not remove the VC701SI from the PowerBook while it is in use (with the LED of the VC701SI turned on). Disconnect any connections before powering off the PowerBook. The VC701SI may become warm in use, but this is not a malfunction. Please hold sides of the VC701SI to remove it. For details on your USIM card, PIN code and PUK (PIN Unblocking Key), please read the instructions for the USIM card. The VC701SI cannot dial up a connection when the PIN authentication feature of your USIM card is turned on. Make sure to initiate a dial-up connection after turning the feature off using the program you used for PIN settings on the device which set up your USIM card. For details on how to verify and change the PIN settings, see the VC701SI User Guide. For details on how to use the PowerBook and installed applications, please read the operation manuals that come with the hardware or software. When the VC701SI is accessed via a USB adaptor or any other peripherals, this software may not operate properly. You are not charged for echo packets; however, this software counts echo packets when the Send PPP echo packets option is checked. This may result in a wide discrepancy between the displayed and the actual communication charges. Please uncheck the Send PPP echo packets option before using this software. For details on how to verify current settings, see the VC701SI Packet Counter for Mac OS X Setup Guide. This software only works for data communication via the VC701SI card. This software is used only as a guide to help you obtain a rough estimate. It is not intended to indicate the actual volume of transferred data or the actual charges. This software counts data packets sent and received by the VC701SI and displays the estimated communication charge and the balance of your Free Communication Allowance. 64K digital data communication is charged for based on the call duration; however, this software counts packets even when 64K digital data communication is in use. Please note that this may result in a wide discrepancy between the displayed and the actual communication charges. This software will operate in English mode if any language other than Japanese is selected in Mac OS System Preferences.
