3 1.0. Introduction Photobooths offer great fun filled experience. To offer such memorable experience to your clients who are hiring your photobooth services will really enjoy the photobooth. Even it is easy to for you to set, moderate, and manage software according to the services chosen by clients. Facility to create new designs, gives you the freedom to offer any type of photobooth service. It becomes easy for your client to operate faster and easier as Photobooth Xpress supports touch screen devices. Great hardware flexibility of the software allows you to simply choose any connected camera and printer for photo capturing and design printing. Get designs printed instantly on connected printers, save as image for social media sharing, or share directly on customer's mobile. 6 3.1. Registration Once you have installed the Photobooth Xpress software on your computer, you need to proceed to Registration. This ensures that all features of the software are made available to you. Registration is very easy and the user-friendliness of the software makes the process quick and simple. The software enables you to complete the registration process while you are connected to the Internet. It also allows you to register at a later date. The screen that you first see on starting the registration process needs to be completed as a first step. Here is how: Enter your details in the relevant fields. These are Name, and Phone or Mobile number. All fields are mandatory. In the last field, Serial Number (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) will be automatically generated in the serial number text box. You will also find the serial number inside the software box pack. Click on the Buy Now button to buy the complete version of Photobooth Xpress. Figure 3:1: Registration window After ensuring that all the fields are filled correctly, click on Register in the lower right-hand corner. To register the software at a later date, click on Run as Trial option. The message confirming completion of the registration process appears on the screen. 7 3.2. Know the Software This section gives you a basic understanding of Photobooth Xpress before you actually start working on the software. Running through this section will enhance your understanding of the options available and will help you to make the finest use of the software General Features Photobooth Xpress comes with several features, which are discussed in this section: Title Addition: Any language title writing is possible. Now you can manage the size of the title by just dragging the title. Apart from the solid colors and ready presets, you can fill the title with any image. Manage the fill in tiled and stretched way. Customize title further with outline and shadow. Multi touch enabled software: Feel the magic of Photobooth Xpress in touch screen enabled devices. Photobooth Xpress now supports multi touch reading. Ready-to-Use Designs: Photobooth Xpress has various inbuilt designs. Existing designs can be altered as per your specifications and saved. Online Cropping: The online photo crop feature allows you to trim out any part of the source photo that you do not need. You can crop your photo to give it the desired height and width before incorporating it in your design. Design Creation and Alteration: You can create new designs or alter existing ones as per your choice. You may also create a completely new page design using your own Decor and save the design for future use. Available on Windows and Mac: Photobooth Xpress works on both Mac and Windows systems. You could Set the Camera for Capturing. Set the logo and its position on design. Change to the language of your choice. Set the options visibility for end users. Set the order details and project saving path. After installation, click on the Photobooth Xpress shortcut button in your specified path to start the software. Clicking on the Preferences button on the top right-hand corner, displays the Preferences window. 'General' tab allows you to set the event name. Choose the software language from 'Language' drop down menu. 'User Interface' tab allows you to choose to show or hide various options to end users. 9 'Data Print' tab allows you to select what kind of data entry fields you want to keep open for users. In addition, you can choose to add these data entries on each design. Figure 3:4: Preferences window Data Print' tab Logo tab allows you to add a logo, which can be set on designs at desired positions. Browse from the Browse button and select the logo image by going to its location folder. The logo selected by you will be displayed in Preview area. The position of the logo on the design can be managed with the Position box. You may check the check circle of the desired position and see the immediate preview in the Preview area. Select the desired unit in which you want to input the size of the logo and manage the width and height of the logo. In any case, when you do not want to set any logo on design, you may reset the selected logo with Reset button. Order tab lets you set the ordering and exporting settings and save your time while processing the order. The format of order can be set and accordingly order number can be generated. Set the Prefix and Current Index in the respective text boxes. The projects you created in Photobooth Xpress are saved to a location for processing. This location can be set by browsing with the Browse button in Project Path option. The color profile for exporting design in JPG format can be set in Color Profile option. 13 4.0. Getting into the Job Using the Software In previous section, we learnt about software functionality. In this section, we will see how to setup and use Photobooth Xpress software. This Section explains 4.1. 14 Photobooth Xpress offers single screen hassle free workflow to your customers. You need to make sure in advance that the software works in the environment set by you. Let us see what are the things that need to be done in advance. As we have already set preferences, let us select the design for the event. 15 4.1. Select Designs By default, a design appears on the screen. However, you can always choose a design that suits your photobooth theme. A click on 'Choose Design' icon will open the rich collection of design templates. Figure 4:2: 'Select Designs' window Available designs are listed. You may filter the designs with the available filters. Let us see the filters first. o o o o o o Orientation: You can sort designs orientation wise i.e. landscape, Portrait and Square. No. of photos: You can sort designs no of photo wise. Theme: You can sort designs theme wise. Style: You can sort designs style wise. Color: You can sort designs color wise. We have provided 9 color options to sort. Type: You can sort designs according to the design type i.e. full and stripe. You may replace the design. Filter the designs and choose the one meeting your theme requirement. 17 4.2. Set Printer Preferences After setting the design, let us set the printer for output. If you have kept the printer option visible in 'Preferences', you will be able to see printer option here and able to set the printer settings. Figure 4:5: Design appeared in 'Design' panel An arrow is displayed in front of Print option. This arrow has printer settings. Click on it to open settings panel. Figure 4:6: Printer window All the connected printers to the computers will be shown in the Select Printer drop down menu. Choose the desired printer on which you want to print the design. Page size drop down menu offers you the possible page sizes that could be printed on the printer. Choose the required one. Choose the DPI among the available DPI options. These options are as per the printer selected by you. The page size of the design selected by you may not match to the page size selected by you while printing. In this case, you may choose the design placement on selected printing size. You may keep the design in its actual size with Actual Size option available in Resizing Options section. 18 Alternatively, you may occupy the page with the design. In case you want to occupy the whole page with Design, choose the Page Size option. You may fit or crop the design to set in paper. Whatever changes you apply for the printer can be immediately previewed at the right part of the window. Once you apply the changes, you may directly print the design with Print option. If you want to save these settings as default settings, save them with Save Settings option. To go back to the 'My Event' window, use Cancel option. 19 4.3. Set Twilio Account If the event designs need to be sent on customer's mobile via Twilio Service, then you can link your Twilio account in Photobooth Xpress. If you have kept the 'Send to Mobile' option on in 'Preferences', then 'Send' option will appear on the screen. Figure 4:8: Design appeared in 'Design' panel Enter your registered mobile number, Account SID and Auth Token and register yourself. For more information, use 'Visit Twilio' link. Once your account is linked, the visitor can directly share the designs to their mobile. The software is now ready to serve at the event. Getting into the Job Using the Software Page 18 of 45

20 4.4. Event Workflow As your Visitor Arrives at the event, he or she stands in front of Camera, now as he clicks the 'Capture' option, a timer of 5-second starts. Figure 4:9: Camera capturing the Photo After the timer is finished, the photo will be captured and will be appearing in the design. Figure 4:10: Camera capturing another photo Once photos occupy the design, the user can either process the design or edit it to make some changes. 21 4.5. Editing the Design If the end user intends to make some changes in design, 'Edit' option helps to perform the changes. Users can add or edit the available titles from 'Title' tab. Figure 4:12: Inserting the title In addition, the brightness, contrast, gamma, and color values of the photos can be adjusted. 22 4.6. Processing the Design There are some data fields to be filled up by visitors. It helps in gathering the data at the end of the event. The name and mobile number of the visitors also appear on the design depending on the Preferences set by you. Figure 4:15: Visitors' data filled Depending on the settings in 'Preferences', the output options are displayed Printing the Design As the user clicks on 'Print' option, the design is printed on a connected printer. 23 Figure 4:17: Saving as JPG The design is generated in JPG format and saved in the path defined in Preferences tab. 'Open' option displays the exported design Send on Mobile As the user clicks on 'Send' option, the user can add his mobile number into the window that is opened and get the design on mobile. Figure 4:18: Sharing the Design on Customer's mobile Once the design is processed, the window will automatically get refreshed and occupy a new set of photos Share on Facebook There are 2 types of Facebook sharing activities that can happen in Photobooth Xpress. If you have set 'Host Account' option in Preferences, the software will ask for login details only for the first time. Login and enter a message that will appear as a post message for the designs that will be shared. Getting into the Job Using the Software Page 22 of 45

24 Figure 4:19: Entering common message for designs being shared Now as you have set your Facebook account once, rest of the designs will be shared every time the guest clicks on 'Share'. No login details will be asked unless and until the login is reset from preferences. In case you have the 'Guest Account' option in Preferences, the login and message windows will appear every time the design is shared. Once the design is shared, the window will automatically get refreshed and occupy a new set of photos. Getting into the Job Using the Software Page 23 of 45

25 5.0. Creating New Designs meeting your Event Requirements Apart from the designs given with Photobooth Xpress, you can create your own designs and make your event more personalized easily. In this section, we will see how to create new designs. This Section explains 5.1. 26 5.1. Creating New Design Let us see how to create designs in Photobooth Xpress. The tool bar at the top of the 'Create Design' window has a variety of options that make Photobooth Xpress user friendly and easy to work with. These options are explained below. The four options in this tool Send to Back, Send Backward, Bring to Front, Bring Forward help in moving objects forward and backward depending on the page layout. Click on the object and then choose the option required to move the photo accordingly. This option can be used to move the object around with respect to the page. Click on the object and then select the option on the bar to apply the changes. This option can be used to move the object around with respect to the other objects on the page. Click on the object and then select the option on the bar to apply the changes. Helps to equalize the horizontal and vertical spacing between objects. Select the object for which you wish to equalize spacing. Click on the tool and select either Vertical or Horizontal as per your choice. Helps to equalize the size of photos on a page. Select the photos for which you wish to make size changes. Then click on this tool and select the parameter for equalizing: Width, Height, and Size. Rotates the object. To rotate the object as per your requirements, click on the tool and alter the x, y and z axis. You could also rotate it by 90 or 270 degrees and flip them vertically or horizontally. You could also rotate the image manually by using choice or using the slider To reset the change you made to the page. To redo a change you made to the page. For zooming the page in. 27 On the home screen of Photobooth Xpress, click on 'Change Design' option in Photobooth Xpress. to access ready designs Figure 5:1: 'Select Design' window Select the 'Create Design' option. Figure 5:2: 'Create Design' window Size' drop down menu Here will see a blank canvas area. Edit option Before creating Event design, we need to select the size in which we want to create a design. At the bottom option bar, you will get a Size drop down menu. Photobooth Xpress provides you some ready design sizes. Click on the drop down menu and see the available sizes. Available sizes are described in the below table. You can also create your own design size as per the requirement. Size creation is easy. Next to the Size drop down menu, you will get an Edit option design sizes.. 28 Here a sample design size has been added to make you familiar with the process. Click in the Edit button to add Event size. A window will appear. Figure 5:3: Adding design size Add option Available design sizes To edit any of the available sizes, select the desired size from the drop down menu. The selected size will appear in the window. Figure 5:4: Editing available size Selected size opened for editing Apply option to save and apply the size Edit the desired parameters and save and apply the changes with Apply button. 29 Define the units and DPI for the Event from Units and DPI option. You need to define the width and height of the Event in the Width and Height textbox. Save the size with Apply button. Once you save the size, it will be applied to the canvas. If you change the page size, the new canvas will appear with new page size. Figure 5:6: 'Create Design' window Stripe making tutorial If you wish to create any stripe design, a detailed tip is displayed after clicking on 'Stripe Making'. Background Click on the Background tab on the option bar to insert the background in the design or to fill it with any solid color. Besides the in-built backgrounds, you could access and select backgrounds that you have saved elsewhere by clicking on the Browse button. The last 15 paths used can be viewed. To use a background, double click on it or drag and drop it on the canvas from the option bar. Figure 5:7: Create Design window - Background tab Uncheck the Fit to Size check box in the 'Background' tab to expand the background on the page. To fill the canvas with one single solid color, click on Color Picker and place it on the color you wish to use as a background for your Design. The whole page now gets a background of that color. Click on the Ready Tone button in the 'Background' tab to select from a range of 18 ready tones available for each background. Creating New Designs meeting your Event Requirements Page 28 of 45

30 To change the tone; double click on the chosen tone. You can remove the background with the Remove button. Shape Click on Shape tab on the option bar to select a shape you would like to add to decorate the page. Figure 5:8: Create Design' window 'Shape' tab Double click on the shape or drag and drop onto the canvas. You can align and resize the shape or rotate it using icon on the shape. To customize the shape according to your taste, use the Custom panel available at the right side of the tab. You could browse for the photo Folder and get in the photos. To use a photo, either double-click on it or drag and drop it on the canvas. Figure 5:11: Photos added and resized Make sure, you place the photos in the sequence they were added i.e. the photo which is added first should be placed first in the design and so on. this helps to set the first captured photo at the first place. Zooming In/Out While working on your Design you can focus attention on a specific area of the photo by zooming in or take a look at the larger picture by zooming out. You can use a combination of these options to obtain the desired level of accuracy on the page. Click on the photo you want to work on and then use the scroll wheel of the mouse to zoom in or zoom out as per your requirement. Panning Panning lets you view specific areas of the photo by moving the photo up or down and sideways in the Create Design window. This gives access to the areas that would otherwise remain obscure. Place the cursor over, which then changes to or the hand symbol. Now use your mouse to take hold of the photo and move it around to get to the area you wish to work on. Swapping Photos Many times you need to swap photos on a page as you go along to. However, the borders (if applied) of the photos are not swapped. 32 Select the photos you wish to swap by keeping the ctrl key pressed. When both the photos are selected, the Swap option appears Click on the option to swap the photos. Photo Quality Indicator The quality of photos used in the design must be good to ensure clarity in the final product. Photobooth Xpress has an in-built Quality Indicator, which warns you whenever the photo quality goes below the required standards. Once a photo has been placed into the frame, the indicator warns you if the resolution is inappropriate for the desired output size. Photos can be rotated to the left and right using 'Rotate Objects' tab. Figure 5:12: Rotating Photos Photos can be resized in desired width and height. Once the photos to be resized are selected, the current width and height of the photo are displayed. Figure 5:13: Photos Selected for Resizing Click on either width or height. You could browse and select a border of your choice from the path in which you have saved it. Double click on the border or drag and drop the border on the photo to apply. 34 Remove the border with the Remove button. Choose the ready tone you want and double click on it to apply it to the photo border. You can transform these borders freely on the page.! Additional icons on the Create Design 'Border' tab: o Flip Vertical o Flip Horizontal : To flip the border vertical. : To flip the border horizontally. o Rotate CW90 : To rotate the border 90 degrees. o Rotate CW180 : To rotate the border 180 degrees. o Rotate CW270 : To rotate the border 270 degrees. Rotating Photos Rotating photos in the design keeping the creative design in mind add to the overall presentation of the page. Photobooth Xpress gives you the option of either rotating the photo within the frame or rotating the whole picture along with the frame. To rotate the photo within the frame: Keep your cursor on the rotate option that is seen when you select a photo. Once the hand symbol appears. Use the mouse to rotate it in the direction of your choice. To rotate the photo along with the frame: Unlock the photo by clicking on. Now keep your cursor on and use the mouse to rotate the photo with the frame when the hand appears. Mask Go to the Mask tab on the option bar to select the mask of your choice. Select the photo to which you want to apply the mask and double click on the mask or drag and drop the mask on the photo to apply it. You could even access the previous 15 paths. You can transform these masks freely on the page.! Additional Icons on Mask tab o Rotate CW90 : To rotate the mask 90 degrees. o Rotate CW180 : To rotate the mask 180 degrees. o Rotate CW270 : To rotate the mask 270 degrees. o Flip Vertical : To flip the mask vertical. o Flip Horizontal : To flip the mask horizontally. You can do several creative things with the title. Let us have a look. First, use the white space to insert the title on the page. White space to insert title Figure 5:18: Inserting the title Style panel Shadow and Outline panel There are three panels in the window. o Style Panel: This panel allows you to set the style of the title. The title can be placed on a color Background i.e. a color patch can be added behind the title. Color palette given in front of Background option can be useful in this case. Choose the color from the color palette and apply it. The Background color can be reset with the help of Reset button in Background color palette. Set the font type and size from Style Panel. Figure 5:19: Style Panel You can also apply the effects like bold, italic and underline from the Style Panel. The alignment of the title can also be managed. 36 The title can be filled with solid color or any texture. Let us fill the title with a solid color. Use the color picker or color palette to select the color for the title. If you want to fill title with any texture, 'Title' tab helps you with the texture tools. Click on the 'Texture' button. You will see Browse option. Once you click on the option, you will be redirected to a window where you can select the image you want to insert as texture. DgFlick provides you 50 ready textures. You may browse and use your own textures as well. Select the texture image and click on Open option. Figure 5:20: Ready textures by DgFlick The texture will appear in the title. You may set the texture in the Tile and Stretch style. These options get visible after you click on 'Texture' button. You can manage the opacity of the title fill from the opacity slider. You can also insert the values manually. o Shadow Panel: You can give shadow effect to the title from this panel. There are various tools in the panel to customize the shadow effect. Click on Shadow option to open Shadow panel. 37 Axis of the shadow can be manipulated. You have got X and Y sliders to manage axis. You can either use the sliders or enter the values manually. The blur and opacity level of the shadow can be manipulated from the respective sliders. Reset the shadow with Reset button. o Outline Panel: Title can be given an outline with the desired effect. Click on Outline option to open Outline panel. Figure 5:22: Outline Panel Color of the outline Width and opacity of the outline The color of the outline can be selected via color picker or color palette. Width and opacity of the outline are customizable and can be managed with either sliders or value box. DgFlick also provides some ready presets of the title, which can be applied on one click. Effects To apply effects on the photos, go to Effects tab on the option bar. There are 5 different options under this category. They are: Colorize, Shadow, Glow, Outline, and Rotation. Apply the desired effect on the photo. o Colorize: Click on the photo to be modified and then click on the colorize preset to apply the effect to the photo. 38 the tab and change the color, opacity and level using Color Picker and sliders. Reset the effect with Reset option. o Shadow: To apply the shadow effect to the photos, click on Shadow and then choose from the available presets. Use the Custom panel available at the bottom of the tab and to apply the shadow by doing settings manually. Figure 5:24: Create Design window - Applying Colorize Effect Available effects o o o Glow: Apply the required presets under the Glow option by clicking on the photo and then clicking on the preset. Use the Custom panel available at the bottom of the tab for changing your blur, color, and opacity values. Outline: Select the photo and click on the preset of your choice to apply the outline. To customize the outline, Use the Custom panel available at the bottom of the tab and create the outline of your choice by filling in the values in these fields. Rotation: The photos on the page can be rotated using the predefined presets under the Rotation option. Use the Custom panel available at the bottom of the tab to change the values for the x, y and z axis and give the photo a 3-D effect. You could also flip the photo horizontally and vertically by using and, respectively. Clipart Click on the Clipart tab on the option bar for a listing of the available clip-arts. Double click on the clipart of your choice or drag and drop it onto the canvas to use it on the page. You could even use your own cliparts by accessing them using. Click on Ready Tone button to access the ready tones for the cliparts. There are 18 ready tones available for each clipart and you could use the color of your choice depending on your page setup by double clicking on the ready tone. As the first part of the design is ready, let us copy it on another side of design as we are creating stripe design. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C to copy contents. As the contents are copied, let us paste it on the other side of the design. Now there are 2 different ways to paste contents. Using Ctrl + V keyboard shortcut, you can paste the contents near to the original place of the copied contents. Using Ctrl + F keyboard shortcut, you can paste the contents at the exact same place of the copied objects. Figure 5:26: Copying Contents Once the contents are pasted, move them to the desired place. 40 Template 'Template' tab has an amazing collection of design templates. These designs could be filtered using 'Filter' option. Filters like Orientation, No. of Photos, Color, Theme, and Style help you to filter the design. Figure 5:28: 'Template' tab Filter the designs to have a precise view. 41 5.2. Save the Design Once you finish with the design creation, you can save the design with the Save option available in Template tab in Create Design window. Alternatively, you can click on 'Save' option this design. available at the bottom right corner of the window to save In the textbox that appears; enter the design information pertaining to the parameters (except the parameter according to which the design has been filtered). These include: No. of Photos, Orientation, Color, Theme, Style, Type and Template Name. Depending on the orientation and no. of photos used in the design, here the orientation and no. of photos are detected automatically. Figure 5:29: Template information while saving your design Set the Type of the Design i.e. whether it is full design or Stripe Design. You can also enter a name for your design in the relevant box. 42 5.3. Delete the Design Photobooth Xpress also gives you the option of deleting any design that you no longer wish to retain in your template bank. To delete a design, select the design that you wish to delete. Click on Delete option in the 'Template' tab. A textbox asking for confirmation for deletion appears. 43 6.0. Building the Framework Page Composition In previous section, we learnt how to use Photobooth Xpress in the event. In this section, we will learn how to align objects on design. Building the Framework Page Composition Page 42 of 45

44 Arrange objects Photobooth Xpress allows you the option of changing the position of an object on the Event i.e. send it backward or forward or to the back or front. Select the photo you wish to move backward or forward and click on function. to access the options under this Select the object and click on Send to back or Bring to front to move the element to the last or the first position, respectively. Select Send backward or Bring forward to move the object either one-step backward or one-step forward. You can undo the changes by clicking on. Object-Based Alignment This option allows you to align photos with respect to other photos or elements on the Event. There are multiple options for this sort of alignment. Select photos or other elements you wish to align using the Ctrl key. Then click on to select the alignment option you wish to apply to the photos from the drop list. You can undo the changes by clicking on. Page-Based Alignment This option allows you to align photos and other elements on the page with respect to the page. There are multiple options for this sort of alignment. If you want the object should be aligned in respect of margins, check the Respect Safe Area checkbox. Select photos or other elements you wish to align using the Ctrl key. Then click on to select the alignment option you wish to apply to the photos from the drop list. 45 7.0. Troubleshoot This section deals with questions most commonly encountered by Photobooth Xpress users. How fast can I create a Design? Ans: With Photobooth Xpress, you have the option of creating designs in a matter of seconds. With the ready design elements or elements imported by you, you can crate instant designs. I do not wish to use Photobooth Xpress ready designs. Can I create my own design? Ans: Sure. Photobooth Xpress has plenty of tools and options to help you with perfect composition and decoration. They include: Composition tools grid, Page and Object based alignment and so on. Decoration tools mask, border, cliparts, backgrounds, and so on. Can I create designs in sizes specific to my Event requirements? Ans: Yes. Photobooth Xpress allows you to customize the design size. It also allows you to save this new design size for future use. Could I use my own collection of cliparts in place of the Photobooth Xpress ones? Ans: Yes. Photobooth Xpress allows you to import any decor such as Background (any JPEG), Cliparts (any JPEG/PNG), Frames (any PNG), Masks (any PNG). Any decor used in Photobooth Xpress will automatically be generated in 18 shades. Is it possible to expand the size of mask or free transform the mask on photos? Ans: Yes possible.
