1 IHAnywhere Installation and Usage Guide for Mac INFORMATION MANAGEMENT & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

2 2 Remote access to IH applications is provided through IH Anywhere. To use IH Anywhere you will need to install the VMWare Horizon View client and have a 6 digit passcode. This document will guide you through the installation of VMWare Horizon View client. The Horizon view client is required to connect to IH Anywhere virtual desktops. Local administrative rights are required for the installer and a reboot is required to complete the installation. If you have any issues, please contact the IMIT Service Desk at Contents Installation... 2 Usage... 6 Disable Apple Security Installation If you are using Mac OS X (imac, MacBook Air/Pro, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro), please ensure the version of OS X will work with IH Anywhere You must have at least Mac OS X "Snow Leopard for support. To see which version of OS X you have: Step 1 Please click on the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. In this example the computer is running Yosemite.

3 3 Step 2 The download for VMware Horizon View Client can be found on the VMware website (found here). Download the VMware Horizon Client for Mac by clicking on Go to Downloads. Click on Download *Current supported version for Mac is If your version of OSX is lower than 10.8, use version 3.2.0* Please use the drop down bar to select the recommended version prior to clicking Download. Step 3 The download will begin automatically. (Depending on your version of Safari the progress bar may appear differently than shown.) When the download completes, click on the Downloads icon to display the file, and then click on it to open.

4 4 Step 4 If you are unable to launch the application and see this error message, please follow these instructions: Disable Apple Security Step 5 The software license agreement will appear. Press Agree if you accept the terms of use.

5 5 Step 6 A window containing the application will appear. Drag the VMWare Horizon View Client icon to the Applications folder icon in the window. Once you have dragged the download into the application folder, the window can be closed.

6 6 Configuring Two-Factor Authentication Step 1 To use IH Anywhere you will need to configure an Two-Factor Authentication If you have already configured or text message two-factor authentication you can skip this step. This document will guide you through the installation of Google Chrome Extension, which is portable and provides a 6 digit passcode so users can log into Interior Health externally. It is a small application installed into Google Chrome. You must first have Google Chrome installed on your Mac device. If you have any issues, or need to be setup with Two Factor Authentication, please contact the IMIT Service Desk. Open Google Chrome If you do not have Google Chrome, you will need to install it. This can be found at

7 7 Step 2 On the right side of the window open the Menu (3 lines) Click More Tools Click Extensions Step 3 Click Browse the Chrome Web Store or Get more extensions depending on which option you have

8 8 Step 4 Search for Sneezry Authenticator Or you can try this link: Sneezry.com Authenticator Click on Add to Chrome Step 5 Click on Add extension Step 6 You will notice that the new extension has been installed, click the new Authenticator icon in the top right.

9 9 Step 7 Click on the Pencil in the top right of the new extension window. Step 8 Click on the + sign

10 10 Step 9 Click on Manual Entry Step 10 Enter the following: Account: IH Anywhere Secret: Your 16-digit secret code provided to you Select: Time Based Click OK Physicians: obtain your secret code via the Request Form IH Employees: Please call the service desk for your secret code. If you have any issues, please contact the IMIT Service Desk at Step 11 You will now see your 6-digit code which will change every 30 seconds.

11 11 Usage Step 1 You can now launch IH Anywhere by going to: Please enter your Interior Health mnemonic (username) and password. Once completed, click Logon. Step 2 Enter your Two Factor Authentication passcode. Once completed, click Logon.

12 12 Step 3 Launch IH_Anywhere Step 4 If you see this message pop up, please click on Open. IH Anywhere will now launch. Step 5 When IH Anywhere loads up you will notice a familiar looking Windows environment. If you are missing any applications on the Desktop, please look to the Start Menu and then click All Programs. If you run into any difficulties during this process, please call the service desk.

13 13 Disable Apple Security To disable Apple Security and allow 3 rd party applications, do the following: Step 1 Click on the Apple Menu and select System Preferences Once in the System Preferences you can click on Security & Privacy Step 2

14 14 Step 3 If the Security & Privacy section is locked (padlock in the bottom left), you will have to unlock these settings using your Apple Mac local computer password (you should have set this up during your initial computer setup). Step 4 You can now change the following option: Under Allow apps downloaded from: Select Anywhere You can now close this window by clicking the red dot in the top left corner. You may now continue with the VMware Horizon View Client Installation
