1 EXIT ENGLISH TEST (EET) SPEAKING User Guide for Students AKADEMI PENGAJIAN BAHASA UiTM

2 Instructions for Users Please make sure your computer is installed with the latest ADOBE PLAYER. Download: Use ONLY Google Chrome as your browser Create EET_VoiceRecording Folder in the Documents Folder Go to: Recorder/project/deploy/register.php

3 Instructions for Users Plug in the cables of the headphones correctly & increase the volume of the headphones. Increase the volume of the speaker at the bottom of your computer screen REMINDER: Finish all contexts in Task A & save your voice recording in EET_VoiceRecording Folder in the Documents Folder before you proceed to Task B.

4 Screen 1 FLASH FLASH 1) Fill up all required information: a) Full Name b) Student ID c) Your 2) Fill up all required information: a) User Name b) Student NRIC c) Your Password 4) Click here to register yourself 5) If you have successfully registered, click this link to proceed 3) Please REMEMBER the password you have typed to enable you to take EET

5 Screen 2 You will see this notification if you have been successfully registered. Click OK. You will see this error window if you try to reregister with the same information. Click OK.

6 Screen 3 1) Fill-in the required information to log into the system 2)Type the SAME password you have created earlier 3) Click Sign in link to proceed with EET

7 1) TIMER: 30 minutes are allocated for EET Screen 4 2) These are the hyperlinks to the context of EET: Task A Situation Context 1 Context 2 Context 3 Context 4 Context 5 3) Controller that allows you to play and stop the voice-over recording of each context 4) You can read along while listening to the voice-over

8 Screen 5 1) Click this button to start recording your voice 3) You will see another window to reaffirm the use of camera & microphone. Click Allow 2) You will see this window, Adobe Plash Player Settings. Click to allow.

9 Screen 6 2) After you have stopped recording, you will see this window. The grey play button allows you to listen to your recording 3) Click TRIM button to proceed with saving 1) Make sure this voice indicator is blinking before you start recording 4) Click SAVE button to save your voice recording to a designated location 5) Name your audio file exactly as specified in: 4a:STUDENT ID 4b.Task 4c.Task A or B 4d. Context 1,2,3,4,or 5. Don t forget to type the underscore symbol in between 4a 4b 4c 4d

10 Screen 7 1) The designated location of the audio files is in Documents EET_VoiceRecording : 2) 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d Label each file as required 3) Click Save after you have labelled each file exactly as required in 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d.

11 Screen 8 1) Proceed with Context 1 to 5. Save every time after completing each context REMINDER: FINISH ALL CONTEXTS IN TASK A & SAVE YOUR VOICE RECORDING IN EET_VoiceRecording FOLDER IN THE DOCUMENTS FOLDER BEFORE YOU PROCEED TO TASK B 2) After completing Task A, Context 1 to 5, click Task B link to proceed with the second part of the test

12 Screen 9 4) After completing all the tasks (A & B), click this link to send all your files to the server 1) Click the PLAY button on the controller to listen to the conversation between 2 speakers 3) Complete all the 5 recordings (Context 1-5) as required for Task B 2) Click to record your voice response. Repeat the recording process as described in Screen 5 to 7

13 Screen 10 1) Click each of the links e.g TaskA1 to upload each file individually 4) Click upload button to send each of your files to the server 2) Click Choose File button to choose your recorded file in the Document EET_VoiceRecording (refer to Screen 11, 2(a) and 2 (b)) 3) Your selected file will be displayed here

14 Screen 11 2(a). Choose your voice recording files that you want to send to the server 2(b). Click open to select file

15 Screen 12 1) You will see this screen if your file has successfully been uploaded to the server 2) Click OK to proceed

16 Screen 13 2) Click this link to check if you have sent all the required files to the server 1) Repeat the uploading process until you have completed sending all 10 files: Task A:5 files, Task B:5 files

17 Screen 14 1) Choose your name from the pull down menu 2) Choose your ID from the pull-down menu 4) List of files sent under your name & student ID 3) Click Search button to display files sent to the server

18 Screen 15 1) E.g of files successfully sent to the server 2) E.g of files not sent to the server. The fields are empty
