4 1 Configuration of the IM 308-C as DP Slave in COM PROFIBUS V5.1 1 Configuration of the IM 308-C as DP Slave in COM PROFIBUS V5.1 This example shows how to configure an IM 308-C as DP slave to a CP as DP master. Proceed as follows to configure IM 308-C as DP slave. Table Create a default master system in COM PROFIBUS. In the catalog, under DP Master > Default Master, double-click on the "Default Host" object. 2. In the catalog, under "DP Slave > PLC > SIMATIC > IM 308-C DP-Slave", double-click on the CPU used. In this example we use the S5-135U / CPU 928. Then double-click on the "IM 308-C DP- Slave" station type on the default master system to open the "Slave properties" dialog. 5 1 Configuration of the IM 308-C as DP Slave in COM PROFIBUS V In the "Slave properties" dialog you click on the "Configure" button to define the input and output addresses for the DP slave. 4. In the "Configure: IM 308-C DP Slave" dialog you click on the "Module..." button to select the modules for the input and output areas. In this example, the following modules are selected: 1 byte DI/consistency 1 byte with the identifier 8DI 1 byte DQ/consistency 1 byte with the identifier 8DQ 5. Select the I address field or Q address field of the modules added. Enter the I address or Q address or click on the "Auto Address" button to assign the I address and Q address automatically. 6. Double-click on the "IM 308-C" station type on the default master system to open the "Master parameters" dialog. Stationstyp: IM 308-C 7. In the "Slave properties" dialog you click on the "Configure" button to define the input and output addresses for data exchange with the S7 CPU. V1.1, Item ID:

In the "Configure" menu, you select the "Set bus parameters..." item to open the "Bus Parameters" dialog and configure the bus parameters, bus profile and baud rate, for example. 10. In this example, the following bus parameters are set: Bus profile: PROFIBUS DP Baud rate: 1500 Kbaud 11. Mark the "IM 308-C" station type on the default master system and transfer the configuration to the memory card via the menu "File > Export > Memory Card...". NOTE It s not allowed to use the E/A addresses in the S5 rack twice, i.e. the E/A addresses, which are configured in this example, must not be glazed by additional used E/A modules. 6 V1.1, Item ID:

7 2 Configuration of the CP342-5 as DP Master 2 Configuration of the CP342-5 as DP Master Table 2-1 In the example, a CP342-5 is configured as DP master. Please follow the instructions below for configuring the CP342-5 as DP master. 1. In the SIMATIC Manager, you create a new STEP 7 project via the menu "File > New". 2. Add a SIMATIC -300 station via the menu "Insert > Station". 3. Mark the SIMATIC 300 station "SIMATIC 300(1)". Then double-click on Hardware to open the Hardware Configuration of the SIMATIC 300 station. 4. In the Hardware Catalog, under SIMATIC 300, select the mounting channel, the appropriate CPU and the CP342-5 and drag-and-drop them into the Hardware Configuration. Double-click on the CP342-5 to open the Properties dialog of the CP drag & drop V1.1, Item ID:

8 2 Configuration of the CP342-5 as DP Master 5. In the Properties dialog of the CP342-5, select the "Operating Mode" tab and then select "DP Master". 6. Select the "General" tab in the Properties dialog box of the CP342-5 and click on the "Properties" button. 7. Specify a PROFIBUS address for the CP342-5 and assign a PROFIBUS subnetwork to the CP Click on the "Properties" button. 8 V1.1, Item ID:

In this example, the following network settings are selected: Baud rate: 1.5 Mbit/s Profile: DP 9. In the Hardware Catalog, under PROFIBUS DP > SIMATIC, select the IM 308-C DP slave and drag-and-drop it into the DP master system of the CP The Properties dialog of the DP slave opens automatically. drag & drop 10. In the Properties dialog of the DP slave select the "Parameters" tab and enter the PROFIBUS- address of the IM 308- C DP slave. 11. Mark the DP slave connected to the DP master system and drag-and-drop the universal module to slot 0. Double-click on the universal module to define the input address, the length, the unit and the consistency. drag & drop V1.1, Item ID:

In this example the input is configured like this: Start address = 0 Length = 1 Unit = Byte Consistent over: Unit 13. Mark the DP slave connected to the DP master system and drag-and-drop another universal module to slot 1. Double-click on the universal module to define the output address, the length, the unit and the consistency. drag & drop 14. For I/O type select the "Output" item. Enter the start address, length, unit and consistency for the output. In this example the output is configured like this: Start address = 0 Length = 1 Unit = Byte Consistent over: Unit 15. 11 3 S7 Program in the DP Master 3 S7 Program in the DP Master The CP342-5 always transfers the data consistently. For data exchange via PROFIBUS you call functions FC1 "DP_SEND" and FC2 "DP_RECV" in the user program of the CPU. Functions FC1 and FC2 are available in the SIMATIC_NET_CP > CP 300 > Blocks library. Parameterization of FC1 "DP_SEND" The FC1 "DP_SEND" transfers the data of a specified DP output area to the CP342-5 for output to the DP slave. In this example the outputdata is configured with start address 0 and a length of 1 byte (see Figure 3-1). The total length of the address area of the output data and the DP output area is 1 byte. Figure 3-1 At the input parameter CPLADDR of FC1, you specify the module start address. You take the module start address from the Hardware Configuration of the S7-300 station. The length of the DP output area must be at least as long as the total length of the address area of the output data. In this example, the FC1 "DP_SEND" transfers the 1 byte from the DB1 as of address 0 to the DP output area for transfer to the DP slave. In this example the input data is configured with start address 0 and a length of 1 byte (see Figure 3-1). The total length of the address area of the input data and the DP input area is 1 byte. At the input parameter CPLADDR of FC2, you specify the module start address. You take the module start address from the Hardware Configuration of the S7-300 station.
