1 I would like to preface these instructions with a few things. First, this will work for any EA or indicator you ever get for MT4. These instructions may only talk about a few that we have on the site, but as we come out with more or you download others, you can follow these instructions and get them uploaded. Also before doing any of this, you will need to close MT4 and we will prompt you when to open it again. Start by going to the Live Trading Room home page here. Click on the link shown in the image below, taking you to the MACD True which will be necessary to make most of the indicators and EA s we produce actually work.

2 Follow the instructions and download the MACD True from this page, which is the page you were directed to from the home page when you clicked the #2: Get the MACD with 2 Lines link.

3 You should see the MACD-True.zip file come up in the downloads section of your computer. You can see that it should have the.zip extension, and if you look under Type it will say Compressed (zipped) Folder. This is normal, and it will need to be unzipped or extracted.

4 Next, back to the home page of the Live Trading Room, then click on #4: Ninja MACD and Hopper EA s. It will bring up the page containing the Ninja MACD indicator as well as the Red Hopper Trader and Hopper Trigger Exits EA s, and videos about how to use all of them.

Notice this is the same page as the previous image. If you scroll down past the instructions on setup, you will find the files available for download.

You should download the Ninja MACD and the Hopper EA s files. Both the Red Hopper Trader and Hopper Trigger Exits EA s are in one zipped folder, so you will only be downloading two zipped folders. Don t worry about trying to figure out what that means, it will be clear soon.

6 Back to the Downloads section of your computer you will find 3 zipped folders. All of them should have the.zip extension and on the right it should say Compressed (zipped) Folder. You will need to extract these files, which comes next.

When you right click on one of the files, you will see a dropdown menu with an option that says Extract All Once you click on that, you will have to select a place

You will need to do this with all 3 zipped files.

After you have extracted the file, you should see another folder pop up with the same name, but under Type it will simply say File Folder, and the folder icon on the left of the folder will simply be

When you open the folder, you will see the EA s or indicators, depending on which folder you extracted and opened. The EA files and indicator files will look exactly the same, they will just have different names. They should have a.ex4 file extension and under Type it should say EX4 File.

9 After all the files are extracted and you can find them easily, you will need to get them into the MT4 platform. You will start by clicking the Start icon on the bottom left corner of your screen, and going to My Computer (on some PC s), or just plain Computer (on others).

10 After you are in the Computer section from before, click on your C: drive, as seen below.

11 Once inside the C: drive, you will click on Program Files. This varies from computer to computer as to where it defaults when it installs software. You can simply check both, mine is in Program Files (x86).

12 When you are inside of the Program Files folder, you just need to locate your version of MT4. Mine is FXCM MT4 powered by BT, but I also have FXCM MetaTrader 4. I primarily use the one labeled powered by BT so I will click that one.

13 When you have located your MT4 folder in Program Files, you will click to go inside of the experts folder. It should be easy to find, it is the 3 rd folder from the top.

14 The experts folder is where you will put any EA you get. In this case it is the Red Hopper Trader.ex4 and The Hopper Trigger Exits.ex4. An EA is an Expert Advisor, which is a type of file that will perform any number of functions, but usually involves automatically trading a specific trading system. All you need to do is drag them and drop them into this folder. Simple as that, nothing fancy.

15 After you have dropped the EA s into the experts folder, it is time to place the indicators into the indicators folder. So click on that folder to get in there and move to the next page.

16 Now simply do the same thing you already did before with the EA s, drag and drop the 2 indicators into the indicators folder.

17 Now it is time to open MT4! Once it is open, bring up a fresh chart, and open the Navigator window. You can see it on the tool bar above the chart and it is a little gold folder with a little gold star in front of it. Once you have opened that, you will see a section marked Expert Advisors and a section marked Custom Indicators. The Expert Advisors section will contain the EA s we just dropped in there, and the Custom Indicators section will contain the indicators we just dropped in there.

19 One final instruction about EA s. There are certain settings you will need to make sure are checked on your platform before placing an EA on the chart. You can find this by going to Tools Options then the Expert Advisors tab, and make sure it looks exactly like the picture below.
