This guide describes how to quickly access each service and explains every important feature. So let s get started! Getting Started 1 > Accessing your MyVyve account First things first. You have to put the puzzle together piece by piece before you can see the whole picture. That s why it s essential to make registering your MyVyve account the first step you take. 3 Internet Services 2 Internet Services: Test Your Speed 3 Vyve Broadband has some of the fastest Internet speeds in town. Once our technician installs your service, you will be ready to download, stream and game like never before. There are no speed limits on the Internet, but there are speed tests. Sign onto SpeedTest.VyveBroadband.com to see if you re getting the speed you need. > Get to know your Internet modem > It s easy 1. Go to SpeedTest.VyveBroadband.com. Reset 2 Ethernet cable (color may vary) Ethernet 10/100/1000 Security Key number 2. Click the button for your location and wait for your results. 1 Cable RG6 coax cable 3 Power cable In order for your system to work properly, make sure that all 3 cables noted in the diagram are secured tightly. 3. Your results will appear in a few seconds to show you your download and upload speeds. IMPORTANT: On the barcode on the back of your modem, you will find your Security Key number. Make sure to save this number somewhere you will remember, like our MyVyve section on Page 27.

4 Internet Services: Managing Your Data Usage 4 Voice Services 5 Stay on top of your Internet data plan with MyDataMeter, the free tool to monitor, manage and make the most of your online data usage. Grab your account number and visit MyDataMeter.com to: Access up-to-date information on how much data you re using. Learn when you are approaching 50%, 75%, 90% and 100% of your data allocation. Vyve s Voice service allows you to make calls around the clock with unlimited, crystal-clear nationwide calling. You have access to our online Voice Mail and Phone tools portal and all the most popular calling features. > Accessing Voice Mail 1. Dial 86 from your phone (or your 10-digit phone number if you are checking remotely). 2. When prompted, enter the temporary 4-digit PIN 1234 followed by the # sign. 3. You will be prompted to enter a new PIN, which you will use to check Voice Mail in the future. > Accessing your online Voice Mail and Phone tools portal Vyve s powerful online Voice Mail and Phone tools portal lets you monitor and customize your Voice services as you wish, when you wish. If you re logging in for the first time, contact customer support at 855.FOR.VYVE ( ). We will your username and secure password to you. No problem if you should exceed your data allocation. Get an additional 50GB of data for only $10 per month. Once you ve received your account information via , go to vyve.amp2.alianza.com. Enter your new username and password, and you re in!

Vyve s Voice Service requires a phone modem known as an EMTA (embedded multimedia terminal adaptor) that is powered by plugging it into an electrical wall outlet. In the event of an electrical power outage, the EMTA will not receive power. If the EMTA loses power, and you do not have a backup power source, your Voice Service, including 911, will not work. The EMTA provided by Vyve at the time of installation comes equipped with a backup battery. For more information regarding your EMTA s backup battery and how to maintain Voice Service during an electrical outage, please see our Phone Modem Battery Policy at policies. 6 Video Services: DTA Remote 8 Video Services: DTA Remote 9 Your remote allows you to control your entertainment with a wave of your hand. Here s some information on setting up and using your DTA remote. > Programming the DTA remote to your TV Your remote is already programmed to control your digital set-top box or DTA (digital transport adapter). To control your TV functions (TV input, TV power and volume), follow these steps: 1. Install the batteries. 2. Find the manufacturer s code for your TV (see code list provided with your remote). 3. Turn on your TV and turn the volume up as high as it will go. Then turn on your digital set-top box or DTA. 4. On your remote, press and hold the SETUP button for three seconds until the indicator LED changes from red to green. 5. Enter the first manufacturer s code you found in Step 2. The indicator LED will flash green twice. 6. Press the TV POWER button on the remote. If the TV turns off, you know the code has been accepted. Turn the TV back on and make sure the volume and mute buttons also work. If so, you re all set! 7. If not, repeat these steps using the next manufacturer s code you found in Step 2. (You may need to try several codes to find one that works for your TV.) If you need to reset your remote, press and hold the SETUP button, then enter > Pairing your remote to your DTA Your remote control can be paired directly with your digital set-top box or DTA, allowing you to place the device out of the line of sight (in an entertainment center or behind your TV, for example). Once your remote control is paired to a specific DTA, it will not control any other DTA in your home. If you would like to use your remote for another DTA, you can follow the instructions in the following section to learn how to undo your paired remote. To pair your remote control with your digital set-top box: 1. Program your remote to your TV. 2. Press and hold the SETUP button for 2 seconds until the indicator LED changes from red to green. 3. Press the MENU button on the remote. Your TV should display on-screen instructions. If they do not appear, you may need to press the MENU button again. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter the 3-digit code that appears. 5. Once the code is correctly entered, your remote will be paired with the DTA connected to your TV. > Unpairing your remote from your DTA If you d like to use your remote control for a different DTA, you must first unpair the remote control from the current device. Follow the instructions below to remove the pairing from your remote: 1. Press and hold the SETUP button for 3 seconds until the indicator LED changes from red to green. 2. Enter on the remote control. 3. The indicator LED will blink green twice. The remote will now be unpaired from that device and can be used for other DTAs in your home. Remember, when using your remote with a new TV or DTA, you may need to reprogram the remote to operate those devices.

7 Video Services: TiVo Guide 10 Video Services: Closed-Captions Settings for DTA 11 The Vyve HD Guide experience, powered by TiVo, makes finding exactly what you want to watch fun and easy. Follow these instructions to help you navigate the guide in no time. > Settings menu Closed captioning is a means of displaying alerts and subtitles on your TV screen. You can turn closed captions on or off as required, and you can also change the closed captions appearance. > Turning closed captions on or off Starting with your set-top box in User Settings mode, follow these instructions: 1. Press the or on your remote until the front panel shows CC. On the Pace User Settings menu, Closed Captions is highlighted, with CC on the front panel. 2. Press the button. The Closed Captions menu appears on your TV screen. The current Closed Captions (CC) setting, either ON or OFF, is highlighted on the menu. The Settings menu allows you to update your HD set-top box settings. Press the ARROW buttons to navigate through the menu. Hit OK to make your selection. Press EXIT or ARROW LEFT at any time to return to watching live TV. Select FAVORITE CHANNELS to mark or unmark (with the OK button) channels you receive and want displayed as your favorites in the guide. 3. If you want to change the setting, press the OK/SELECT button. 4. Press the button. The front panel shows CC again and the Pace User Settings menu reappears. > Changing the closed captions appearance If you want to change the closed captions appearance, take the following steps: 1. In the Closed Captions menu, press the button on your remote to highlight Configure Captions, then press OK/ SELECT. The Configure Captions menu appears. 2. Use the and to highlight each option in turn. Use the OK/SELECT button to choose the settings you want (the setting changes each time you press OK/SELECT). 3. If you wish to reset all the Closed Caption settings to their default values, press the button to highlight Reset to Defaults on the menu, then press OK/SELECT. 4. When you have made all the changes you want, press twice to redisplay the Pace User Settings menu.

8 Video Services: Parental Controls Setup for DTA 12 Video Services: DVR Remote 13 You can put a lock on channels by forcing a password to be entered before the channel can be viewed. > To set the password Select MENU on your remote. Arrow to Settings and press OK. Press OK on Parental Control. A screen appears to enter the current password the pre-set password is 0000 (four zeros). Enter the password you want under New Password and then enter it again under Confirm Password. > Set up locked channels You can create a list of channels that can only be viewed by entering the Parental Password. Press the MENU button. Arrow to select Favorites & Parental Control and press OK. Use the arrow button to move the cursor to the right-most column. Select the channel you want to lock using the buttons. Press OK. A check mark appears to show that this channel will require a password to view. Press OK again to remove the channel from the list. When you finish all of your Locked selections, press the EXIT button. If you select Yes, the Locked list is stored. The lock icon will appear on the Channel Guide List to show which channels require the Parental Password to view. > View locked channels You can temporarily unlock a Parental Control Channel by entering the Parental Password. When you tune to a locked channel, a screen appears for you to enter the Parental Password. Enter the four-digit Parental Password. The channel will appear. If you enter the wrong password, an Invalid Password screen appears and prompts you to enter the correct password. Once the correct password is entered, the channel will remain unlocked until the channel is changed. Install the batteries. 2. Press and hold SETUP until LED blinks twice. 3. Press the TV POWER key. 4. Press and hold down the OK/SELECT key; let go when TV turns off. The DVR guide helps you store and access previously recorded shows so you can watch all your favorite programs on a schedule that works for you. Follow these instructions to help you navigate the DVR guide with ease. > To see what s on right now 1. Press the GUIDE button to start looking for your show. 2. Use the ARROW buttons to browse through channels, then press OK/SELECT when you find a channel you want to watch. > To search by category 1. Press the MENU button. 2. Choose the magnifying glass icon and press OK/SELECT. 3. Use the ARROW buttons to browse categories, then press OK/SELECT when you find what you re looking for.

Press the MENU button. 2. Click Settings. 3. Press the button once to show the Settings menu. 4. Press the button once for Closed Captioning. 1. Press the MENU button. 2. Choose the magnifying glass icon and press OK/SELECT. 3. Choose the title category and press OK/SELECT. 4. Use your remote to enter the name of the show you want. 5. Use the ARROW buttons to highlight the show you want, then press OK/SELECT. 5. Press the button once to see the Closed Captioning menu. 6. Press the OK button to turn on (a check mark will appear next to ON ). 7. Press the button once to turn off (a check mark will appear next to OFF ). 8. Press the button three times to exit each menu and return to regular programming. > To filter channels by HD, Pay-Per-View or Favorites 1. Press the MENU button. 2. Use the ARROW buttons to highlight the icon you prefer. 3. Press OK/SELECT to see just the channels that match that filter.

Select Setup from the main menu. 2. Select Parental Controls Setup. 3. Select Pins Setup. 4. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up, clear or change your PINs. 1. It s simple. Highlight Set Up a Series Recording and press OK/SELECT. 3. Use the ARROW buttons to select First-Run Only. 4. 13 Frequently Asked Questions 24 Notes 23 Q: Why does the indicator LED on my DTA remote flash red, but there is no response when I press a key? Make sure the remote is aimed at your TV and is no farther than 15 feet away. Also, make sure your digital set-top box or DTA is powered on and in plain sight. Q: Why does the indicator LED on my DTA remote flash red and then green while I m programming my remote? You may have entered the wrong code. Check the code and try programming again. Q: What happens if my DTA is blinking or is not responsive? First, check to make sure that your DTA system is plugged in and that all connections are properly secured. If the DTA is properly connected but is still not responsive, you may need to reset your remote. Press and hold the SETUP button and then enter to reset. Q: What happens if I try every code for my TV brand and none of them work with my DVR remote? Try doing a code search, or find more information for your remotes at urcsupport.com Q: My modem appears to be offline. What should I do? Check to make sure all three cables are properly secured: the RG6 coax cable, Ethernet cable and power cable (as shown on Page 2 of this guide).
