1 14. Firmware update procedure Periodical FW updates will be provided. Please follow and apply the following instructions that illustrate a FW update starting from the UI log-in step Step 1 Log in Open a Web browser on a PC and enter the Ethernet Card s IP Address. Enter the following username and password as in Section 13.1 unless these have already been changed by the Eaton certified installer or the end user: Username: admin Password: admin Figure 94: xstorage Home UI log-in window After the successful log-in, the Home page will be displayed (Figure 64) with the UI divided into five main blocks. To continue the Firmware upgrade, go to Navigation & Settings on the left side of the UI panel Step 2 start In the Settings section select Firmware Upgrade as shown on the Figure 95. 2 14.3 Step 3 Ethernet card update Click on the +Add files icon and select the update.hex file on your computer (Figure 97) which will be provided by the Eaton xstorage Home Development team on a regular basis. Figure 97 File selection for the hybrid inverter Ethernet card update Press Start to upload the.hex file from the PC directly to the Ethernet Card. A window as shown in Figure 98 will be displayed to indicate that the upload process is under way. Figure 98 Hybrid inverter Ethernet card update in progress After the update, the Ethernet card will be rebooted. Please note that the interface will continue to be displayed on the screen, but that the reboot might cause it to become unresponsive. Should this be the case, press F5 to refresh the browser window periodically until the connection to the Ethernet card has been re-established. This process normally will take about five minutes. IMPORTANT: Please note that the Firmware upgrade process might take several minutes. Please do not reboot the Ethernet card or disconnect the inverter from the grid supply during this process. 3 14.4 Step 4 Second login After updating and rebooting the Ethernet card, once the connection is re-established, log in again to the xstorage Home User Interface from your browser following the process previously outlined in Section As before, the Home page will be displayed. Figure 99: xstorage UI homepage 14.5 Step 5 Hybrid inverter FW update As set out in Section 14.2, go to the Settings section and select the Firmware Upgrade option. 4 Click on the +Add files icon and this time select the.rom files. (Figure 101). Figure 101: File selection for the hybrid inverter FW update Press Start and Update to upload the file from the PC to the xstorage Home System Ethernet card. An additional window with the Firmware update process bar will be displayed. Figure 102: Hybrid inverter FW update in progress IMPORTANT: please note that the Firmware upgrade process might take several minutes. Please do not reboot the Ethernet card or disconnect the inverter from the grid supply during this process. The Firmware upgrade will be completed (Figure 103) by clicking on the OK button (as displayed below) which will cause the displayed windows to be closed. 5 14.6 Step 6 - Update confirmation The success of the firmware update can be ascertained by double checking which FW version is actually running on the xstorage Home Ethernet card. To do this, select the Settings section on the left panel of the xstorage Home User Interface. This time, select the IT Information option (Figure 104). Figure 104 Locate the IT Information at the Settings section This will open up a window (Figure 105) that will enable you to verify if the newly uploaded files correspond to those which are actually running on the xstorage Home system unit. The window should display the following: Figure 105: Verification of the running versions of the hybrid inverter Ethernet card and FW The Ethernet card FW version ( Card Version ) should correspond to the.hex file on your computer In this example, this file is denoted as XSTH1PNP_V hex the final four digits will identify the currently running version, which can then be checked against the uploaded file; The inverter FW version ( Firmware Version ) corresponds to the.rom file on your computer. In this example, this file is denoted as XSTH1P_V ROM hex the final four digits will identify the currently running version, which can then be checked against the uploaded file. If the two versions of the.hex and.rom files do not match, please contact your Eaton technical support representative for further assistance to identify why the FW upgrade was not carried out successfully. 58 XSTORAGE HOME INSTALLATION MANUAL MN700001EN June
