6 Preceding Firmware Version: 6.23 Version Date: June 2011 Reference: 6742 The random scrambled OSD and picture distortion when the HDMI input 1 had no source signal was fixed. A fade through black switching method was added to prevent a glitching problem between HDMI sources and others. The analog audio output that did not work with laptops and certain PCs was fixed. Audio that stopped working for a few seconds when switching to an HDMI source was fixed. The abnormal audio mute when selecting/unselecting the Freeze/Mute/Blank buttons was fixed. The audio mute time was extended to avoid the audio noise when switching input sources. Modifications: Improved the DDC handling in conjunction with the associated HW modification. Glitch free switching (into HDMI source) was improved. The new firmware handles HDCP depending on the HDMI display: If an HDMI display supports HDCP, then the HDMI output always has HDCP. (The source signal is not checked so that switching to and from HDMI does not change the HDCP status and the glitch is avoided). For the VGA output, the source signal is first checked. If it has HDCP then the video is blocked, for non-hdcp, the signal is output unchanged. The RS-232 command "Y 6 0 2" was added to trigger the WATCHDOG to reboot the machine.

7 5.1 audio channel support: HDMI input supports multi-channel audio (embedded 5.1 bypass without audio delay) but the EDID remains as the old version to support 2-channel LPCM only. If user wants to bypass the multi-channel compressed audio, he has to force the source to output 5.1. Concurrent hardware modification: Resistors R126, R128, and R129 must be modified from PCB version 1025 A and onward. This solves an HDCP issue when the unit is connected through any HDMI Kramer unit to a monitor. For example: when connecting the scaler HDMI output to our HDMI twisted pair units (TP-571/TP-572) and to a Panasonic monitor; when the monitor is turned OFF and ON, the HDCP communication fails and no picture is displayed. If the HDMI source is input via an HDMI router, the VGA output will be not be turned on after switching from an HDCP to a non-hdcp source. Preceding Firmware Version: 6.19
