68 Understanding CTI-RD versus Spark-RD With the following Unified CM releases there will be a new device type Spark-RD Available target dates for this new Spark-RD device type: Unified CM 10.5(2) SU4 (November 2016), 11.0(1) SU3 (March 2017), and 11.5(1) SU2 (Feb 2016) Call Service Connect works with CTI-RD today; however, CTI-RD counts against the device count from a licensing perspective. Therefore, even though the minimum version supported for Call Service is Unified CM 10.5(2) SU3 the license counts must be accounted for prior to the Spark-RD device type being available in future Unified CM versions (listed above). For customers who want to activate users for Call Service Connect and do not have the spare licensed device capacity, there will be a process to approve temporary licenses by request to Global Licensing Operations.
