3 1. INTRODUTION SMART-KEY SYSTEM & START BUTTON SYSTEM: WHAT? SMART KEY (for anti-theft system) (ENGINE) START BUTTON On -9A machines, a SMART KEY can be used for unlocking the machine (So, no need anymore to insert a User Password at the cluster menu: see below remark). Machine key-on & Engine start is now achieved by pushing on the start button. The 2 classic keys only serve for opening the cabin-doors & side-doors. Remark The anti-theft system on -9 machines functioned with a a User Password find more info regarding this system in the training book TRAINING LUSTER -9. HHIE TRAINING ENTRE

ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM DESRIPTION User Password = 00000* (at machine delivery) The User Password can be changed through the luster Menu: On luster Menu, select: Management Machine Security Password hange (put in the current User Password for entering) Put in the new User Password (5~10 digits + *) Put in the new User Password again! What if you type 6 times consecutively the wrong User Password? Then the machine will remain locked for 30 minutes After 30 minutes, you can try to unlock the machine again HHIE TRAINING ENTRE

6 3. ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM SETTINGS Explanation of the 4 ANTI-THEFT SETTINGS There are 4 ways to configure the anti-theft system. This will be shown on the next 4 slides. HHIE TRAINING ENTRE

7 ANTI-THEFT SETTING 1 DISABLED On luster Menu, select: Management Machine security ESL Mode setting (put in User Password for entering) Machine Security = Disabled At key-on, cluster starts up normally Machine is fully operational - EXAVATOR -

8 ANTI-THEFT SETTING 2 ENABLE ALWAYS & Smart Key system = OFF On luster Menu, select: Management Machine security ESL Mode setting (put in User Password for entering) Machine Security = Enable (Always) & Smart key = Disable Enable (Always) At key-on, cluster always asks for User Password Put in User Password to unlock the machine - EXAVATOR -

9 ANTI-THEFT SETTING 3 ENABLE ALWAYS & Smart Key system = ON On luster Menu, select: Management Machine security ESL Mode setting (put in User Password for entering) Machine Security = Enable (Always) & Smart key = Enable Enable (Always) Enable At key-on, cluster unlocks the machine, if it has found signal from the smart key somewhere in the cabin EG. SMART KEY LEFT AT HOME! But, if no signal is found, below screens appear: 1 e SREEN, VERY SHORTLY 2 e FINAL SREEN Machine is fully operational - EXAVATOR - Now, machine is still fully operational, if you put in User Password

10 ANTI-THEFT SETTING 4 ENABLE INTERVAL & Smart Key system = OFF On luster Menu, select: Management Machine security ESL Mode setting (put in User Password for entering) Machine Security = Enable (Interval) Make sure you firstly set: Smart key = Disable Enable (Interval) At key-on, cluster locks the machine, only after a set time-interval (eg. 5 min), following upon the machine shut down The time-interval can be set through the cluster menu: Maximum is 4 hours. Machine is fully operational, if you put in User Password - EXAVATOR -

11 For a Wheel loader, the system for configuring the anti theft system is the same Remark for a Wheel loader: On luster Menu, select: Management Machine security ESL Mode setting (put in User Password for entering) Machine Security (ONFIGURE...) : See previous pages & Smart Key Usage (ONFIGURE...): See previous pages Here you can change status of smart key system (Enabling/Disabling)! This line refers to current status of Smart key system: Enabled or Disabled - WHEEL LOADER -

SMART-KEY SYSTEM NOTES A new machine (excavator or loader) comes standard with 2 smart-key tags (pre-programmed for that specific machine) smart-key (or) smart-key tag, It is possible to add a 3e smart-key tag: (so, maximum 3 tags per machine) For this procedure, see further in this book: how to program smart-key tag Part nr of smart-key tag (not-programmed one, empty) = 21LM The operator can unlock many machines (no limit) with one and the same smart-key tag (it only functions when using only 1 tag for these machines) Eg. If 10 machines are entered with same 2 tags-information, then all those machines can get started with either of 2 keys. HHIE TRAINING ENTRE

SMART-KEY SYSTEM AUTHENTIATION PROESS OF STARTING LF sensing area: When the smart-key tag is at the inside the of the cabin, it s signal can be picked up for unlocking the machine (MU) START BUTTON SMART-KEY TAG SMART-KEY READER Push the Start button ( KEY-ON ) Authentication process 1. luster and smart-key reader power is on. 2. luster sends request-signal for authentication of smart-key reader. 3. Smart-key reader sends LF wake-up pattern. 4. Smart-key tag in LF sensing area wakes up. 5. Smart-key reader and smart-key tag start to communicate wireless. 6. luster authenticates ID of smart-key tag. 7. luster authenticates user password to MU RFID-communication between smart-key tag & smart-key reader Machine (MU) is unlocked and engine can be started Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the wireless non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data between smart-key tag & smart-key reader. The tag needs a power supply (battery), for proper working Note: LF = Low Frequency signal UHF = Ultra High Frequency signal (exc) (loader) HHIE TRAINING ENTRE

SMART-KEY SYSTEM PROGRAMMING OF TAG for WHEEL LOADER * How to program a smart-key tag: (When you newly register the tag, it must be within 70cm radius of monitor. ) GROUP Management REMARKS - Here you can register or delete tags - Nr. of registered tags is shown in this menu (max. 3) - When deleting tags : it s ONLY POSSIBLE TO DELETE ALL TAGS AT ONE P.S. Deleting-operation can be done withouth presence of tag in the cab - When registering tags :make sure you have a non-registered tag inside of the cab: If you have another registered tag at the same time somewhere in the cab, the system gets confused & you will not be able to register the non-registered one Note: If a new tag is programmed (added), it will be only visible after key-off, and then key-on Eg. Registered tag number : 0 1 (In fact, do twice : Tag registration -> Tag >... otherwise the system will not validate it) HHIE TRAINING ENTRE
