1 ix TxA/TxB Programmable I/O (PIO) NA-9379 KI Function and area of use This document explains how to setup ethernet connection with programmable I/O (PIO). For best understanding and easy working with Programmable I/ O and CODESYS we recommend: - Basic knowledge of CODESYS. There is a quick start in CODESYS help file. - Prepare the computer with the programming tools CODESYS and IOGuidePro. - Download manuals Note! - Always use the correct version of the drivers and software! In order to obtain the correct functionality of the Programmable IO, always start installing the required Codesys V3.5 SP3 Patch 1. This is done to get all libraries and driver versions required of the product. - When using BootP in IOGuidePro: use Windows XP (windows 7, 64 bit are not supported). 4 5.2 Setup PIO For communication with a ModbusTCP Master we use the function block ModbusServer. Install the FB from the library Setup the variable for the function block Configure the ModbusDataArray in persistent area to keep the value after a power OFF 4 (8)

5 5.2.1 Modbus Register / Bit The ModbusDataArray can be configured for up to 1024 register. The first register at Modbus holding register are (decimal). Example: Holding Register => ModbusDataArray[10] => ModbusDataArray[11] Bit Address (in Holding Register) => ModbusDataArray[0] => ModbusDataArray[0] (8)

7 5.3.1 Driver configuration NOTE! Use the Modbus Master driver version or later. We have not tested the driver version for release yet. Until release date you can use the beta version beta. The file can be found together with this StartUp document: Driver_iX_ModbusMaster5_14_02_beta.zip Install the driver in ix Developer and restart ix Developer. Set the driver like picture 7 (8)
