1 1 Function and area of use This document explains how to set up ethernet connection with FX3U-ENET/-APD or FX3GE and ix application. 2 3 Different setup procedures Depending on your Ethernet device the setup is different. Setup of FX3U-ENET is done via FX Configurator EN. Setup of FX3U-ENET-ADP and FX3GE is done in GX Works2. 3 4 Setup using FX Configurator EN Make sure that you have FX Configurator installed. The installation comes with GX (IEC) Developer installation, it can also be found on our website. Open FX Configurator, either via GX (IEC) Developer or directly from your computer (when using GX Works2 for example). How to open from GX (IEC) Developer: Select Module Type and Module Name. Click on Configure module... and FX Configurator will open. 3 (11)

4 When FX Configurator is opened click on Module None to select where the special module is located. If it s located as the first special module to the right of the basic unit, choose Module 0. If it s located as the second special module to the right, choose Module 1 etc. Click on Operational settings and set the parameters as follows. Click on End. 4 (11)

5 Click on Open settings on the start screen. 1. Set UDP. 2. Set Receive. 3. Set Procedure exist (MC). 4. Set Disable. 5. Set No confirm. 6. Set Click No Settings and set to be open for alla IP addresses. Otherwise enter specific IP address, in this case, the IP address of the ix application (PC or Panel). 8. Set Transmission target device Port number. Enter to open all ports or enter a specific port number, for example (11)

6 Click on Transfer setup on the start screen and select Serial port/usb. Enter your communication settings and click on Connection test to make sure you have connection. End with OK. Click on Write on the start screen. Click write again and the parameters will be downloaded to the module. Make a reset on the PLC. Make sure to save the configuration. 6 (11)

7 Only when using GX IEC Developer, select the saved configuration. The module configuration is done! 7 (11)

8 5 Setup using GX Works2 Open your GX Works2 project and open PLC Parameters and select Ethernet Port: Select the channel corresponding to the location of the module. Enter the IP address of the module/device. Leave Subnet Mask Pattern empty if you want to be using default address When done, click on Open Setting. 8 (11)

9 In the Open Setting view: 1. Set UDP. 2. Set port number 1281 (default port in the ix Developer driver). 3. Set IP address of the ix application. I.e Set port number Note! It is not possible to open all ports or all IP addresses. 9 (11)

10 6 Set up ix Developer 2.0 When creating a new project or by changing the controller in Tags. Choose FX3U-ENET protocol. Open settings located under Tags - Controllers (11)

11 Change Local UDP port to match that of the ENET device. This option is only available in version or higher. (FX3U-ENET does not require this step) Click on Stations to change IP and Port no. Click OK The configuration is done! 11 (11)
