1 T4L Phase Overview Phase 2 T4L Memorandum DN/12/363107, details sent to schools week 2 of term 4 School entitlement over a four year cycle. Each school s allocation has been based on the March 2012 enrolment data. The formula has not changed. One UNIT is equivalent to a base Windows desktop with a 19 LCD screen.

2 Overview The order form for this rollout is new and will be available for online ordering through the Principal s DEC Portal. T4L page on the DEC Intranet, The FAQ page provides a range of detailed advice.

3 Statement from Apple It is important to note before completing the order form that Apple have advised the following - Based on past product cycle history you should expect a model revision in the imac range before the end of this year If this occurs, there may be extended delays to the delivery of Apple computers in 2013.

12 Wireless Access Points (WAPs) K 6 schools can choose to order Wireless Access Point Bundles using T4L allocations. Each bundle includes a WAP, ceiling/wall mounting kit and 4 year next day replacement warranty. The bundles do NOT include a network data outlet or a power supply option (either a power injector or a Power over Ethernet [PoE] switch) NOTE: These bundles are NOT compatible with DER sites which require the Aruba 125 model.

13 Wireless Access Points (WAP s) There are two bundle options available to schools to suit the varying needs. A cheaper single band option (IAP 93) is available for very small schools with limited mobile requirements. A dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) option is also available (IAP 105) for schools that wish to run larger numbers of mobile devices. While recommends the IAP 105 bundle, the aim of the T4L rollout is to improve the computer to student ratio.

15 Ordering your T4L devices The school Principal needs to logon to their Portal Under My Applications, choose Technology for Learning (T4L) Computer Equipment Rollout Phase 2.

16 Ordering your T4L devices Principals need to PRINT the form before choosing the SUBMIT button if you wish to keep a record of their order. Once submitted the order is now locked. If schools want to change their order they should to T4L@det.nsw.edu.au Orders are due by Friday October 26 th 2012

17 Desktops As with last year s rollout, there is no onsite installation provided for desktop computers. SR IT School Support will provide Check-lists and instructions as required prior to delivery to assist this installation process. Please log a Service Desk call on requesting IT Services - School Support to join computers to your school domain if assistance is required after the notebooks have been commissioned.

18 Notebooks As with previous years, there is no onsite installation provided for notebooks. Installation instructions will be provided prior to rollout of notebooks which will include information on the conditioning of the battery and running the DEC commissioning script. Please log a Service Desk call on requesting IT Services - School Support to join computers to your school domain if assistance is required after the notebooks have been commissioned

19 T4L Servers Servers are no longer available under T4L rollout Discretionary servers are still available, however for small schools, the et4l server solution is preferred If warranty on your school s server is reaching the end or has expired, please ring Greg Sharkey
