Tablets are clearly here to stay. According to Gartner, 80% of enterprises will support tablet-enabled workforces by the end of Yet giving up laptops for tablets simply isn t practical for most users. Cons 39% of government IT pros say a growing diversity of devices and platforms pose a challenge for their tablet rollout plans. 66% of healthcare IT executives say consumer-based tablets create governance challenges for their organizations. According to a 2012 report, however, the proliferation of mobile devices has created an IT management nightmare for financial services organizations. 82% of enterprise workers say tablets will complement their laptops NOT replace them. MANY CHOICES NO COMPROMISES More than four out of five workers say that tablets will complement their laptops not replace them. People still like laptops for their hardware performance, ability to use a mouse and physical keyboard, and access to their favorite desktop productivity applications. Yet they also like tablets for their mobility, ease of use and flexibility. Should you carry a tablet or a laptop to a client engagement? Do you have the right charger with you? Is your data stored on one device, but you re carrying the other? Will you have enough battery power to get through a long day on the road?
