6 Summary The OpEneR website is It is running on a server at FZI in Karlsruhe. From server side the website is maintained by FZI. The currently available content of the website and the future structure and content is being built-up by Bosch as project coordinator. Until now, we concentrated on early project information for interested parties outside the OpEneR consortium. The exchange of data between the OpEneR partners themselves is currently running through the "FP7_OpEneR" Collaboration Room within the so called Bosch GlobalNet intranet platform. During the coming months we will step-by-step extend the content and the functionalities of the OpEneR website with respect to data exchange, project information, calendar, etc.

7 1 Introduction The OpEneR website will operate with two different functions. One is the so called "frontend" where all visitors will be able to find general and public information about the OpEneR project. The other function is the so called "backend" area, where project partners can share information with each other. 1.1 Frontend Structure As the project progresses so will the website. The OpEneR website starts with some static information for visitors. These are labelled under "Project" and will contain information about each work package (overview), as well as the list of partners in the OpEneR consortium. There is also the possibility to get the contact data for the project officer at the European Commission, the project coordinator at Robert Bosch GmbH, the website administrator at Forschungszentrum für Information (FZI), as well as the website account and content manager at Robert Bosch GmbH. Since the website is hosted in Germany, for legal reasons there is also an "Impressum" which contains disclaimer and legal contact information on the server provider and the content responsibility. A news section is included too, which will inform about latest project events, upcoming events, project progress, etc. A "Publication" section gives an overview of first published information on the project. Photos from the very first meetings and workshops can be found within the section "Gallery". For the future we already have following expansion planned: Add a "Link" section to other project sites Further extension of the "Publication" section concerning download functionalities for deliverables, papers, etc. Add a custom design and web 2.0 functionality, such as RSS feeds 1.2 Backend Structure Since all project partners are from across Europe our website will also function as "intranet". As of now there is a possibility for project partners to login on our website into a separate private area. This "backend" area will serve mainly as platform for communication and scheduling. Following features will be implemented in the future: Group calendar all project partners have access to and can create, edit, delete events Appointment tool for users to schedule meetings, telephone conferences, etc. Forum with different topics to exchange knowledge and questions (can partly be public too, so visitors can interact in specific questions / areas) File sharing possibility

8 2 Current design and content of the OpEneR website The following sections roughly describe the current design and content of the OpEneR website. 2.1 Home Figure 1 OpEneR website Home Figure 1 shows the current OpEneR website that can be reached via internet address The visitor will enter the website through the section "Home". The menu on the top of the website navigates to six menu items "Home", "News", "Project", "Publications", "Contact" and "Gallery". The corresponding contents will be described in the subsequent sections. The OpEneR logo displayed beyond the menu bar shows a fully electric vehicle driving on a significantly long road symbolised as the infinite sign. The acronym "OpEneR" stands for "Optimal Energy Consumption and Recovery based on system network". Further information is given on both the project and the project consortium.

9 2.2 News Figure 2 OpEneR website News The second entry within the menu bar leads the visitor to the "News" part of the website. It is shown in Figure 2. Today, the "News" section consists of information on the latest OpEneR workshop in July at CTAG's site in Spain, and on the kick-off meeting in May. In future we plan to publish upcoming OpEneR related events also. Photos of the OpEneR working group should give the visitor a more personal impression of the project.

10 2.3 Project Figure 3 OpEneR website Project Figure 3 displays the section "Project" with the most detailed information on the OpEneR project available on the website today. Fist of all, the visitor gets an overview of the OpEneR project's contents and goals through the abstract also given in the description of work. On the left-hand side of the website a menu leads to the section "Consortium" where all six OpEneR partners are listed together with one contact person per partner. In addition to that, the menu navigates the visitor to a work package overview and to workshop individual information.

14 3 Bosch Global Network Collaboration Room Figure 7 OpEneR Collaboration Room within Bosch Global Network Portal The today's used platform for document exchange between OpEneR partners is the Collaboration Room "FP7_OpEneR" within the Bosch GlobalNet. Figure 7 shows that there is a separation between Bosch "internal" and the "external" file system. The folder structure of this external part is displayed in Figure 8.

15 4 Outlook The Robert Bosch GmbH as OpEneR project coordinator will successively increase the functionality of the website concerning both the frontend and the backend structure. Today's OpEneR website design will be improved during the next weeks. New contents will be integrated as soon as they will be available.
