1 Procedures LESSON 64: RECDING A MACRO Adding the DEVELOPER Tab to the Ribbon box, click Customize Ribbon. 4. In the Customize the Ribbon list at the right, click to mark Developer. Setting the Macro Security Level 2. Click the Macro Security 3. In the Trust Center dialog box, under Macro Settings, verify that Disable all macros with notification is selected. 4. Click OK. Setting Trusted Locations box, click Trust Center. 4. Click Trust Center Settings. 5. In the Trust Center dialog box, click Trusted Locations. 6. Click Add new location. 7. In the Microsoft Office Trusted Location dialog box, specify the location of the trusted source in the Path text box or click Browse to navigate to the location. 8. Saving a Workbook That Contains Macros 2. Click Save As. 3. Navigate to the location where you want to save the workbook. 4. In the Save As dialog box, click the Save as type dropdown arrow. 5. Click Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook (*.xlsm). 6. In the File name box, type the name of the file. 7. Click Save. Recording a Macro 1. Click the Record Macro button on the status bar. 2. Click the Record Macro 3. Click Record Macro. 4. In the Record Macro dialog box, specify the macro settings as desired. 6. Record the macro. 7. When you complete the recording, click the Stop Recording button on the status bar. 7. Click the DEVELOPER tab. 8. Click Add. Editing a Macro 2. Click the Macros 3. In the Macro dialog box, select the macro you want to edit. 4. Click Edit. 5. In the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications window, edit the macro code as desired. 6. Click FILE. 7. Click Close and Return to Microsoft Excel. Deleting a Macro 2. Click the Macros 3. In the Macro dialog box, select the macro you want to delete. 4. Click Delete. 5. In the confirmation box, click Yes. 6. Click Close. Copying Macros Between Workbooks 1. Make sure both workbooks are open. 2. Click the DEVELOPER tab. 3. Click the Visual Basic 4. In the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications window, on the Standard shortcut menu, click the Project Explorer 5. Click and hold the module for the workbook containing the macros you want to copy and drag it on top of the module for the workbook you want to copy to. 6. Close the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications window. 2

In the Goal Seek dialog box, in the Set cell box, specify the location of the input variable you know. 5. In the To value box, specify the value of the input variable you know. 6. In the By changing cell box, specify the location of the value you want to adjust. 5

In the Scenario Manager dialog box, click Add. 5. In the Add Scenario dialog box, in the Scenario name text box, type a name for the scenario. 6. In the Changing cells box, specify the cells where you will change the input data that causes the scenario to change the value in the results cells. 7. In the Comment section, enter the desired comment. 9. In the Scenario Values dialog box, enter values for each of the changing cells. 10. Click OK. 11. In the Scenario Manager dialog box, click Show. Naming Ranges 1. Select the cell or range you want to name. 2. On the formula bar, click in the Name box. 3. Type the name for the range and press Enter. Creating a Scenario Summary Data Tools Group 2. Click the What-If Analysis 3. From the menu, click Scenario Manager. 4. In the Scenario Manager dialog box, click Summary. 5. In the Scenario Summary dialog box, in the Result cells, specify the cells that contains the results you want to summarize. 6

Using the Watch Window 1. Click the FMULAS tab. 2. Click the Watch Window 3. In the Watch Window, click Add Watch. 4. In the Add Watch dialog box, specify the cell(s) whose formula you want to watch. 5. Click Add. Tracing Precedents and Dependents 1. Click the FMULAS tab. 2. Click the Trace Precedents button to trace the cells referred to by the formula. Or, click the Trace Dependents button to trace the cell whose value depends on the value in another cell. 3. To remove the trace arrows, click the FMULAS tab. 4. Click the Remove Arrows 7
