Open your blogger dashboard and click the design tab and then click template designer Now you're going to go down the list on the left hand and make changes to your blog to set up your template. First change your template to picture window template
After you click on picture window 3 templates will appear for you to choose from, click the last one: once you've selected the template click apply to blog; orange button in the upper right hand corner Now that you've chosen the proper template you can alter with the images I sent you. First click background from the left hand side menu in the upper left corner. and click on the little triangle that I have circled in the pic below beside the back ground image
A pop up window should appear (see pic below). Click upload image and then simply search on your computer for the back ground image that you want and upload it click the orange done button at the bottom of the pop up once you have uploaded the image. You should see the background change in the preview at the bottom half of your screen. Now click apply to blog in the upper right hand corner (you can wait and click apply at the very end of this once you've made all of the changes, but I like to click as I go along so I save as I go along and then if anything happens I don't have to start from the very beginning just from the spot wherever I had to stop so it's up to you to click it every time I write it or to wait to the very end) Now it's time to personalize your layout, fonts and colors for your entire blog. Go back to the left hand side menu and click LAYOUT. Your screen should now look like this:
For a 3 column layout, click the layout with the red arrow pointing to it..or choose any of the other layouts whichever you prefer.. After we've fully completed this..then you can adjust where things are but for now just let them be until you fully complete the template designer. Click apply to blog in the upper right hand corner Now click ADVANCED from the left side menu. Your screen should now look like the pic below: Now you can format your entire blog. See the first one is page text just scroll down through the list of fonts.. this will let you chose which font for your posts. if you scroll down in the preview window you'll be able to see the changes take place. However they do not take place on your blog until you click apply to blog. I have put in brackets at the end the settings I have applied to the sample blog I showed you so either you can use those settings to get that exact look or play around to see which fonts/colors work best for you. PAGE TEXT- choose font from font list then color, size, and add bold/italics if you want (font cantarell I also clicked the bold underneath the font choice color white)
BACKGROUND- because you're using an image the only one from this you might need to adjust is post background simply choose which color you want to be behind your posts and sidebar (I made everything transparent. See the next image for how to change back ground colors. Simple click the little arrow in the circle and a drop down will open I have the arrow pointing to transparent which is what I choose however you can click any color you like and it will show you in the preview what it will look like on your blog so this is up to you whatever you like best!! the first two you don't really have to worry about changing because you're using a back ground image. the third one post background is what color will be behind your posts and that is the one you will h ave to worry about changing. If you change the first two and nothing happens don't worry that is how it is suppose to be just change the third one post background. The first two are if you're not using a background image or header image only) LINKS: this will choose the color of your links.. Link color is what color it appears in your post before it is clicked..hover color is the color it will become when someone rolls their mouse over it and visited color is the color it is when someone visits the link and returns back to your blog.. BLOG TITLE- you can ignore this because you're using an image
TABS TEXT- this is the text for your pages (home about me contact et) simply choose the font you want the text to be as well as the color.. the selected color is the color the text changes to when someone is on the page for example in the pic above you can see home is different because it is "selected" so set your selected color to whatever you want.. TABS BACKGROUND- this is the color of the tab set it for whatever you want. These are the settings I chose simply copy/paste these into the box I have the arrow pointing to and you'll have the same settings as I have currently on the sample blog. Make sure you also copy/paste the # symbol it is required to get the correct color. If you want a different color then just click on the little squares below to choose which color you like best. Background color #ff0066 Selected Color #9800ff Separator Color # POST TITLE- sets the font for your post headings choose a font from the list then size DATE HEADER- is the date that is right above your post title, the date your post was published on, this sets that color and font (I wouldn't change this but it's up to you) POST- you can ignore GADGETS- this is the name that appears above your gadgets (for example on my blog, above my button it says specializing in book covers) this sets the fonts/colors for that Everything else you can ignore (footer, footer links add css) Now just play around with the colors and fonts until you get it set the way you want it to be and then click apply to blog. Then go back to your dashboard and click the design tab and then you move your gadgets around to wherever you want them to be. Simply click on them with your left mouse button and hold down the button and drag them to where you want and then release the button even if there is no box for the gadget once you move your mouse over it (while having the left mouse button held down to drag/drop your gadget) one will appear.
