3 Application Installation 1.0 Content Parts publications, parts lists, illustrations, and part numbers are all content. Parts publications are made up of a collection of parts lists and illustrations. Parts lists are made up of a collection of parts. Part numbers are linked to illustrations with hotspots that indicate where a part number is utilized on a product. Section 1.1 Search for a Parts Publication Searching for a parts publication allows the user to locate a parts catalog. Previously viewed products and previously viewed content are enabled after the first publication has been selected. To search for a Parts Publication: 1. Select the Company Logo at the top of the screen or the home breadcrumb if not already on the home page. The home page displays. 2. Click inside the search bar O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 3 of 22
4 3. Enter a value to begin your search (i.e. Brand, Product Line, and Model). 4. Click the button. The search results page will display. 5. Click the link for the appropriate model. The Product Page with parts publications related to the selected product will display. 6. Select the desired parts publication. The Parts Publication Contents Tab will display. Section 1.2 Search within a Parts Publication Searching within a parts publication can be helpful (i.e.; if you know the part number you are looking for but do not know the associated parts list.) To search within a parts publication: 2016 O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 4 of 22
5 1. Navigate to a parts publication (Reference section 1.1: Search for a Parts Publication). 2. Click inside the search bar. 3. Enter search criteria. 4. Click the button. Items matching the entered criteria will be highlighted. Section 1.3 Add Notes to Content Adding notes to parts publications, parts lists, or part number can help keep track of important information about the selected content. To add notes to content: 1. Navigate to a parts publication (Reference Section 1.1). If you wish to add notes to a parts list or part number, navigate to the desired parts list or part number. 2. Click the (Notes) button. The notes popup will display O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 5 of 22
6 3. Enter a note in the text box. 4. Click Save. Section 1.4 View Content Details Content details can help users identify parts publications, parts lists, and specific part numbers. To view parts publication details: 1. Navigate to a parts publication (Reference Section 1.1). If you wish to view the details of a parts list, navigate to the parts list. 2. Click the (Information) button. The Publication/Parts List details popup displays with publication/parts list details information O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 6 of 22
7 3. When you are finished viewing the publication/parts list details, click Close. To view part number details: 1. Navigate to a parts publication (Reference Section 1.1). 2. Click a parts list title on the Contents tab. The Parts List tab is displayed. 3. Click the button. The part number information extends and part number details are displayed. 4. When you are finished viewing the publication details, click the button to collapse the part details. Section 1.5 View Illustrations Associated to a Parts Publication Multiple illustrations can be associated to parts publications. To view illustrations: 1. Navigate to a parts publication (Reference Section 1.1). 2. Click a parts list title on the Contents tab O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 7 of 22
8 The associated illustration is displayed on the parts list tab. Note: If multiple illustrations are available, there will be left/right arrows at the bottom of the illustration to move to the next available illustration. 3. Select one of the buttons on the toolbar to modify the illustration view. The illustration view has been changed. From left to right: Expand/Collapse Toolbar, Fit Best, Fit Width, Fit Height, Zoom In, Zoom Out, Rubber Band Select, Pan Image Note: Toolbar buttons differ by configuration. In addition to the toolbar, users can click the full screen button to view the illustration and parts list in full screen mode. Section 1.6 Part Number-Hotspot Bi-Directional Views Part numbers and illustration hotspots are linked. By selecting one, the other will be highlighted or magnified. To view part number-hotspot bi-directional capabilities: 1. Navigate to a parts publication (Reference Section 1.1). 2. Click a parts list title on the Contents tab O'Neil & Associates, Inc. 9 3. The Parts List tab will display with the selected parts list s information. 4. Click on a hotspot or a part number. 5. If you have selected a part number, the illustration will zoom to the corresponding hotspot. If you selected a hotspot, the part number line will be highlighted and scrolled into view O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 9 of 22
10 2.0 Pick Lists Users can add part numbers to pick lists that can be saved, printed, ed, exported, and deleted. Section 2.1 Create a Pick List Pick lists can be created from any page. Creating a pick list allows users to create parts lists. To create a pick list from any page: 1. From the top of any page, click the Pick List drop-down field. The pick list options display. 2. Select Add New. 3. The Create a New Pick List popup displays. 4. Enter a pick list title (optional). Note: New pick lists are automatically populated with the title: Pick List # O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 10 of 22
11 5. Click Save. A new pick list has been created. Section 2.2 Add Part numbers to a Selected Pick List Part numbers can be added to a pick list from the Parts List tab. Users can add multiple instances of the same part number to a pick list, this increments the quantity each time. To add part numbers to a selected pick list: 1. From the top of any page, click the Pick List drop-down field. 2. The pick list options display. 3. Select the title of the pick list. 4. Navigate to a Parts Publication (Reference Section: 1.1). 5. Select a section within the Contents tab. The parts list tab with part numbers corresponding to the selected parts list is displayed. 6. Click the button on the part number(s) you wish to add to the selected pick list. Repeat steps 5-7 as necessary to add part numbers to the pick list. Note: The quantity listed on the parts list tab is the quantity added to the pick list each time the button is clicked. Section 2.3 Open and Edit a Pick List Pick lists can have their title or description changed to best suit the current needs of the user. To open and edit a pick list: 1. From the top of any page, click the Pick List drop-down field. The pick list options display. 2. Select the title of the pick list you want to open and edit. 3. Select the button. 4. The Pick List page opens displaying selected pick list information O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 11 of 22
12 5. Make necessary edits to the selected pick list. 6. Click Save. Section 2.4 Edit a Part Number within a Pick List After a part number has been added to a pick list, users can edit the quantity or note associated with each part number in the selected pick list. To edit a part number in a pick list: 1. Open the pick list containing the part number you wish to edit (Reference Section 2.3). 2. Click inside the Note and/or Quantity textboxes. 3. Make necessary edits to the part number(s) as needed. 4. Click Save. Section 2.5 Delete a Pick List Any pick list can be deleted. Caution should be taken when deleting pick lists as they cannot be recovered once they are deleted. To delete a pick list: 1. Open the pick list you wish to delete (Reference Section 2.3). 2. Click the Delete button. A confirmation message displays O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 12 of 22
13 3. Click Ok. The pick list is deleted. Section 2.6 Delete a Part Number within a Pick List Any part number can be deleted from a pick list. If a part number is deleted from a pick list, it cannot be undone. Users must search for the part number again and re-add it to the selected pick list. To delete a part number in a pick list: 1. Open the pick list containing the part number you wish to delete (Reference Section 2.3). 2. Click the button on the line of the part number you wish to delete. Click Save. The part number is deleted from the pick list. Note: If the pick list is not saved after deleting a part number and the user navigates away from the page, the part number is not deleted. Section 2.7 Print, , and Export Pick Lists Pick lists can be shared and saved. Pick lists can be printed, ed, and exported. Users can pick lists to themselves or to others. ing pick lists is a good way to keep track of upcoming orders. Pick lists can be exported as text or Excel files. 14 Print Option: Microsoft Windows print options are displayed. 3. Select necessary print options. The pick list has been printed. Option: The send pick list popup is displayed. 1. Enter an address to send the pick list to. 2. Click the Send button. A confirmation message displays. Note: You must be connected to the internet to a pick list. Export Option: The Microsoft Windows save options are displayed. Note: The file will be saved as a.csv file which can be opened as a text or Excel document. 3.0 Alerts and Announcements Alerts and announcements can be found on all pages and provides users with application updates and information. Section 3.1 View Alerts and Announcements Alerts are used to provide users with information such as update availability, overdue updates, and authorization reminders. Announcements are used to provide users with company-specific information. To view alerts: 1. From any page, click the button. The alerts section pops out O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 14 of 22
15 To view announcements: 1. From any page, click the button. The announcements section pops out. 4.0 Configuration, Profile, and Support The Profile page contains the contact information of the user. The Configuration page is where users can update the application, update their datasets, install new datasets, or uninstall datasets. Users can also enable automatic updates for the application and for datasets. The Configuration page also displays current application and dataset versions, available version updates, last update dates, and installation locations. The Support page contains contact information for ONePARTs support and a feedback form. Section 4.1 Update User Profile The user profile is populated with the user-entered information from the initial login. Users may change this profile information as necessary. To update a user profile: 1. Click the Profile link from any page. The Profile page is displayed O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 15 of 22
16 2. Edit necessary fields. Note: All profile fields are required, leaving one blank will result in an error. 3. Click Save. User profile information has been edited. Section 4.2 Update the Application The application may require updates. If an update is available and an internet connection is established, users may update the application. Updates will not become available until there is an internet connection. To update the application: 1. Click the Configuration link from any page. 2. The Configuration page is displayed O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 16 of 22
17 Note: If an application update is available, the Update button next to the application information will be enabled. 3. Click Update. The application begins the update. The Update button becomes Updating and is disabled. The update completes and the Updating button becomes Restart. 4. Click Restart. The application restarts with the new version of the application. Note: Selecting the Automatically Update checkbox will cause the application to be automatically updated every time an update is available and there is an internet connection. Section 4.3 Install, Update, and Uninstall Datasets Datasets are collections of related data that can be installed on the ONePARTs Client to populate parts information. Installed datasets may require updates. If an update is available and an internet connection is established, users may update their dataset. Updates will not become available until there is an internet connection. Datasets can also be uninstalled if they are no longer needed by the user. To install datasets: 1. Click the Configuration link from any page O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 17 of 22
18 The Configuration page is displayed. 2. Click Install Dataset. The Install Dataset Page displays. 3. Click Browse. The Browse for Dataset Page displays O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 18 of 22
19 4. Select dataset and click Select. 5. Click Install. The dataset installation begins. To update datasets: 1. Click the Configuration link from any page. 2. The Configuration page is displayed O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 19 of 22
20 Note: If a dataset update is available, the Download button next to the dataset information will be enabled. 3. Click Update. The dataset begins the update. The Update button becomes Updating and is disabled. Note: Selecting the Automatically Update checkbox will cause the dataset to be automatically updated every time an update is available and there is an internet connection. If a dataset requires a restart the Updating button will become Restart. To uninstall datasets: 1. Click the Configuration link from any page. The Configuration page is displayed O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 20 of 22
21 2. Click Uninstall Dataset next to the dataset you wish to uninstall. The Uninstall Dataset Confirmation message displays O'Neil & Associates, Inc. Page 21 of 22
22 3. Click Yes. Dataset is uninstalled. Note: If you uninstall the only available dataset, the application will be unusable until a new dataset is installed. Section 4.4 Support The support page will display ONePARTs Client support information. The feedback form is also available from the support page. To view support contact information: 1. Click the Support link from any page. The Support page is displayed. 2. View support contact information. To Send Feedback: 1. Click the Support link from any page. The Support page is displayed. 2. Select an Issue Type from the drop-down list. 3. Enter a description of the issue or feedback in the description field. 4. Click Submit. The Feedback has been sent O'Neil & Associates, Inc.
