1 Creating an Interactive Lesson in ActivInspire with Multiple Components Component 1: Objective Slide To create the Objective Slide: a. Make sure ActivInspire is open to a Blank Page b. If the first thing that you want to do is type, then choose to insert Text i. Choose Insert ii. Click on Text iii. Click on the location on the screen where you would like for it to be and begin typing. c. You may format this slide just as you would a Word Document. i. To format text 1. Select the text that you would like to modify by highlighting it. 2. Your formatting options appear at the top of the screen for you to use.

2 Component 2: Video Slide Next, create a new page to insert a video. 1. Choose Insert 2. Choose Page 3. Choose After Current Page as the location 4. Note: Your video must already be downloaded somewhere to your computer or a storage location. a. Click on Insert b. Choose Media c. Navigate to the location where you have it saved. d. Select the appropriate video e. Choose Open f. The Video should now appear on your Page in ActivInspire. 5. Formatting the Video a. You may click on the video once it has been inserted into your presentation and drag it to where you would like for it to be on your screen. b. When you click on the video, Formatting Dots should appear around the edges. i. With this enabled, you can click on a dot and use your mouse to resize the video. c. Next, you will want to disable the Autoplay feature. i. Click on View on the top toolbar ii. Make sure Browsers has a check by it so that you may see all of your pages on the left side of the screen.

iii. At the top of the Browser section, you should see these choices. We will be using the Properties Browser (Circled Below) iv. Make sure your video has the Dots around it v.

Click on the Properties Browser to view the properties of the video. vi. Find Autoplay and set the Value to False instead of True d. If you would like to add text to your video page, please follow the steps to Component 1.

Component 3: Inserting a Hyperlink to a Website To Create a Hyperlink Slide: 1. Click on Insert 2. Choose Page and Location that you would like for the page to be. (Typically, after current page) 3.

(Typically, after current page) 3. Use the instructions from Component 1 to insert Text for your page. 4. Locate the link for the website that you would like to insert into your presentation. a. Select and Copy the link by highlighting and right-clicking to copy it. 5. Click Insert from the ActivInspire top menu. a. Choose Link b. Choose Website Copy or type the website into the box above. 8. The web link should then appear on the page. 9. You may click on it to drag it to where you would like for it to be located.

If you do not have an account, feel free to create a free account. 2. When you login, click in the Search Resources Bar a. Type in a topic of interest that you are looking for. 3. You will then see all of the Flip Charts and resources that others have posted. a. You may click on Preview to see the entire lesson before you download it. b. If you find a lesson that you like, feel free to download it and save it to a known location. Also, name it something so you know what you are using it for. 4. Once you have downloaded your resources from Promethean Planet, go ahead and open the Flip Chart that you downloaded. a. Find the page(s) that you would like to insert into your current presentation. Keep in mind that unless you have named the current Flip Chart, it is the Tab at the top of the page this named Untitled. b. When you find them, click on the page that you would like to copy in your Browser on the left side of the screen where all of the pages are displayed. i. After you click on the page in your browser, it should be highlighted with a darker black border. ii. You may now right click on that highlighted page (still over in the browser) and select copy. iii. iv. Go back to your presentation that you are currently building. 1. Select the location that you would like for it to appear in the Browser a. Right-click and paste that slide(s) into your presentation.

Navigate to the location that your PDF file is saved. 5. Click Open 6. Choose to insert at the end of your current flipchart. (If you do not, ActivInspire will open it in another FlipChart. Then, you must copy and paste it into your current presentation.) 7. Your PDF should now be inserted into your presentation.
