Note that the optional wildcard character % can be used as a substitute for zero or more characters in a query. The wildcard allows for query of an entire street (e.g. %Hillside%) or a full or partial address. The wildcard also makes the query case insensitive. If the exact address to be searched is known, the wildcard character may be omitted provided that the full address is entered into the query. However, omitting the wildcard character is not recommended; if the requested query is not an identical match to the information stored within the database (e.g., if there is a case mismatch, or if a partial address is entered) then the query will fail. Map view will zoom to and outline the selected Address, the Civic Address record will show in the attribute table and the selection will show in the Map Contents as a layer. 8 P a g e Revised: 16 June 2015

9 3. To view the Map Contents, select the Map Contents tool from the top menu bar. 4. 23 3. Change the cache parameters to a different cache size as desired. Please Note: Get all features at once is not recommended as this will retrieve all the features from the layer once the layer is added to the map and the number of features in the layer may exceed the maximum number that can be returned by the server in one request. Configure Filter Filter a Feature Access layer based on a query expression. Only those records filtered by the query expression will show up in the attribute table and in the Map Viewer. 1. Select the Feature Retrieval Tab. 2. Select Get features within map area 3. Change cache size to: 10, Select the Filter Tab. 5. Under the Query Tab create a query expression. In the Map Contents menu choose one of the Point Feature Access layers (Civic Address or Additional Location). 2. Select the Clustering Tab. 3. Check off Use Point Clustering 4. Specify Maximum Points: Set the maximum number of points that can be grouped in one cluster 5. Specify the Radius: Specifies the radius, in pixels, within which features will be grouped into a single cluster 6. Set the Cluster Background Color: Sets the background color for the current layer s cluster 24 P a g e Revised: 16 June 2015

25 7. Set the Cluster Foreground Color: Sets the border and text color for the current layer s cluster. 8. To remove clustering uncheck Use point clustering. 9. A cluster symbol will be added below the current layer s symbology. The number showing in the symbol represents the number of points that are included in the cluster. Additional notes on clustering: When a layer contains a large number of point features, showing each feature individually on the map is often not useful. Clustering will aggregate the points in a layer that are within a certain distance of one another on the screen. Since the clustering is dependent on screen distance, more points are aggregated into fewer groups as you zoom out. Conversely, points are divided into more and more groups as you zoom in. When you zoom 25 P a g e Revised: 16 June 2015

26 in to a level where the clustering area around one point feature no longer contains any other features, that feature will not be clustered but rather will be shown in its location with the symbology specified by the layer's renderer. Change the Draw Order of Layers Adjust the draw order of layers in the Map Contents menu and in the Map Viewer. 1. In the Map Contents menu select any of the: a) Feature Access Layers (ICIS Cadastre, Civic Address, Additional Location or BC Assessment Folios) and/or b) Web Services Group Headings (Cadastral Data, various Utilities, Agency Data, Jurisdictional Data or Feature Labels). 2.
