2 What is SEO? 1 SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Makes it easier for people to find you online Your goal is to show up on the first or 2nd page of a Google search results query. Google s goal is to deliver relevant content to viewers What is SEO?
3 Optimizing Your Website Around Keywords Keywords - the words or phrases people use to search for something Your goal is to think like your members and prospects. Try to anticipate what they are searching for. Ask yourself - how would they search for something? What are the exact words or phrases that they would use? Mimic the language of your community. Develop a list of keywords of keyphrases around topics that are meaningful to you. Build website content around these keywords/phrases 2 Keywords
4 Optimizing Your Website Around Keywords Knowing and understanding what your members and prospective members are searching for online can help you provide your readers with relevant content. Imagine that you are new to an area and are interested in getting involved in Jewish life.. After heading to Google, what keywords or phrases would you use to begin your search? 5 Build Content Around Keywords Your knowledge of keywords plays a starring role in building and shaping the content on your website. The text, images, and content used throughout your website and especially on your homepage, are powerful and should mirror the vibrancy of your community. Words matter! Make sure the language on your website speaks directly to prospective members. And include keywords directly into your webpages. Naturally weave these words and phrases into your webpages. Remain authentic! 4 Build Content Around Keywords
